For the residents taste thing: You need to build a set amount of rooms and you unlock a target tablet goal. You know you did right when the hermit tells you more then just the mini medal. it means you unlocked a new feature. For this, he will say its best to build rooms to certain settings for your residents. Like for instance, Malroth and Lulu like the same thing: Cool, large, and 4 Star fancy. The rooms type is set based on the amount of ambiance you put. You can have a variety, but the dominate one will take to being named for the room. Sometime rooms can be just a bit off so if you closed it one block it may help. Better to be before the line or you may pass it. Once you get the setting right, it will mark it off on their room. How the room is designed or looks is entirely up to you as long as it meets their preference in those 3 categories.

Does anyone know how to get the fire flies? Like the singular glowing little lights, I see them all the time on peoples christmas builds on the notice board.
The renaming of the naughty magazine is a pun to us brits. The word blue can be used to describe sexual themes I.e a blue movie would be pornographic. So blue prints means naughty pictures as opposed to blueprints as a single word meaning the plans for a building. You may already know but the video didn't mention it and it made me chuckle
I've actually never heard of this and I'm British I'm assuming it's not something we use here in the southwest of England😂
This video was really useful! Thanks! Also, in English 'blue' can be used to say something is indecent/lewd so Book of Blue Prints still keeps the meaning 😂it's just a more subtle play on words :)

you know for the Link lookalike thing you can keep the hair color brown and it would look like his appearance in games such as Twilight Princess where he has brown hair instead of blonde
I didn't know the book of blue prints was meant to be something naughty haha. I noticed it was considered "cheeky" but for me I was thinking it was like the book we, the builder, carries around everywhere and notes stuff in. Sure it had an odd, lovey dovey pattern but I innocently ignored it. Now I can't look at that book the same way again ahaha ^^¡

Dude these videos are so friggen helpful. I love this game already but there's always stuff I wish i could do like dress as link without using the farmer one with the towel and and turns out you can, I just didn't know how. Your vids tell me stuff i never would've guessed to do like lighting the trees on fire with the haystack. I use them on like 90% of my houses and they're always a pain to try and get all the wood pieces without missing any of them and it takes forever. This is gonna save me hours I'm not even exaggerating

Do make a video about all the glitches you can do in Dragon Quest Builders 2. Here are 4 examples of glitches:
1. Hit the options button as soon as you land the last hit on a monster. That way, when you open Builderpedia, it's still as if the monster is alive.
2. In Malhalla during Malroth's first battle, pour in some hot water around the arena and Malroth will not move at all.
3. Let a golem of any type and a great sabrecub join your party to an Explorer's Shores island. After you talk to Brownbeard all of you get on the ship. As the ship moves, the golem and the sabrecub will glitch.
4. From an island to another, before the loading screen, exit the game. Open it up again and there is an error message. Try going to an island, but your save file is corrupted, resulting in an endless loop of selecting the corrupted file with a black screen, not even showing the Isle of Awakening background. Selecting a non-corrupted save file will not endlessly loop, first try will be successful. It is recommended to delete the corrupted save file.

I wish that you could unlock the hairstyles from the residents by giving them their perfect room, some of the other hairs are great.
By the way, do you know how to get the other gender outfits for your character? I seem to remember seeing some of the Japanese tubers with other other gender outfits on, and I'm wondering how they do it. I know you can change to the other gender at the dressing table, and put on the Deco mustache but wondering how to say, wear a tux as a girl lol.
Theres a type of changing room you can create and the put an outfit in it and assign it to the character to want to put the outfit on and they will swap their outfit with the one in the wardrobe
Yeah that's great for getting the outfits from them but do you mean that for example I can shove the tux/evening gown in and get one of the guys to wear it, then make them were something else and the outfit stays as a tux? I play as the girl but I also want to get the guy items of clothing too.

I know that the outfits will change when you swap genders at the dresser. But don't know how to keep them that way. I'll investigate

For the clodstone method: alternatively you can use the buildnoculars to place the block and the ivy and then using the buildnoculars again you destroy the block with your hammer and the ivy will remain.

Blue-Prints is actually a great name. "Blue" is a term used by comedians for their dirty jokes/material, so the pun works out as Dirty Pictures, Blue-Prints.

On the 2nd island Khrumbul-Dun there is a rockbomb bed. I don’t know if you missed it or it just wasn’t in this episode. I love your videos, they are very informative.
Another way to remove a block but leave the ivy in place is to use a magnet block then move it with a pusher/puller.
well and here i thought these stations were obsolete
Do you know if the historic hat transfer unlock works with the Switch versions of the two games as well? I have the Switch version of the first Dragon Quest Builders, and I plan to get the Switch version of Dragon Quest Builders 2 soon since I have the first on Switch. And I want the iconic clothing of the DQ Builders game like you, plus what seems to look like other Link like clothing options I've noticed you also have. I really love your A Link to the Past recreation videos by the way! You recreation of that version of Hyrule looks nice so far!

Besides slight stability issues with massively packed in areas (think custom cities) the only thing the switch misses out on is certain exclusive DLC. Such as art works and other decorations (like a paddle to send baddies flying)
No, the paddle is part of the free knick-knacks dlc pack that became available on the 26th of July.
You get the paddle, a celebratory soup Deco item and a decoration made from bamboo ( I think its called a kadomatsu?) It had to wait till the hoto pack was available but was originaly a Japanese new year set.
To get it on switch, go to the eshop and find the game, then scroll down thru the dlc area to find it. Its free tho so as far as I know even base game can use it?
It works! I got both games on my switch and had no problems with unlocking the hats.

For the Link outfit you can have pink hair to make it akin to the ALTTP Link sprite
did you know there is a way to put the teleportal for multiplayer in your inventory? I did it by accident the first time and have been able to replicate the process again. sadly it doesn't appear to make an entry into the builderpedia.

Hey Ben, when you were showing us the hat/hair thing (To get the hair to look like Link) I saw some other hairs. How do you get those? (Yes, I know I am late, and I don't think you will see this, but it doesn't hurt to try)
This one you'll get for having a save file of DQB1 :) you can unlock it then in the start screen of DQB2
This is pretty cool just recently got it digital on Nintendo switch is there anything you can do for such just build whatever you want is there like any side quests there’s no marker Though

Hello Ben and thank you for your videos, I was wondering, how did you do to dye the builder's hat? For exemple if I want to dye just the hat ?
Unfortunately the builders hat seems to just match whatever outfit your wearing (will turn whatever color the body piece picked is) and defaults to grey if your wearing the towel
There are some flowers that you can't collect with the hammer like the roses and the hortensia's (found on the ressources island)
and I want them so badly but I don't know how to collect them
There are also other plants that I love and cannot collect 🙏
You need the Ultimallet to collect them.

Hey Ben I'm trying to find a Supersized Skull problem is I have no idea where to look for it. I suspect that it's actually a dropped item probably from a Troll, possibly the boss Troll since he's the one I learned the Wailer's Mail recipe from.

I did as the people of Khrumble-Dun said and built a shop inside the Pyramid found someone to man it but nothing I put in the sale tag is being sold. I tried softwood first, then I tried books, now I'm trying food but none of it's working.
Oh man, can you make a video of getting the thunder blade from malhala. Because ones you are gone from malhala the only way to get it is by farming pink/purple skeletons on adventure islands and is really hard. He is a time spawn (one every 5mins) with really really low drop rate.
The way that i have been doing the farm is afk kill farm, spikes traps and let all the monsters spawn first. Then go under a roof and wait. Because the skeleton is a time spawn he will still spawn. Now just pray to the RNG Goddess.
Ps: an 8 hours farm and still just iron......
Hmm that's odd. It was one of my first drops on that island. Maybe you'll need to own all other weapons first? Unfortunately I can't test it because I got it already from the pot of the ship.
Do I have to play DQB1 in order to get the hairstyles? I really want to change my characters hair but havent got anything to change it. I'm at level 37.

Where do you find stone guardian/living status I've killed them before but it just says they are on explorers shores?
One is on top of the mountains on Rimey Reef and one will be in the next explorer's shores video :)
Is it possible to build and/or collect those orange rock pillars (the ones usually found in the center of the main island)? It's the ones that look natural instead of made out of blocks.
They will be on the iridescent island and are collectable once you have the ultimallet
@@BenXC That's awesome thanks. And I think I have seen some on an island that can be restarted maybe, the problem was that it turns into blocks when I was breaking, but wasn't sure if the ultimallet changes that. :)
Not related to this, but as being an item I do not know how to create, do you know how to get a more-berry, or whatever berry you feed pets for breeding? My only tablet goal to complete is to breed pets. I have cats, well fed, in private named shared room beds, happiness 100%, but still no kittens. I have watched others talk about needing to feed pets berries to make them produce. But I don’t even know what berries to give them, what a “more berry” is and if it is an upgraded or 2.0 version of a strawberry, I don’t know how to harvest strawberries on awakening. I plant them, and they die.
Probably already have a couple dozen comments mentioning this, but Xbox players have access to the historic cap as soon as they get a dressing table. Dunno if any other head cosmetics (hair included) is limited to dqb1 save transfer stuff, but I do know you have more than just the default male and default female hairdos.
How do you change Malroth into the other outfit? Sorry if it's in the video, I'm having a hard time loading the whole thing. Also the other hair and hats There's no wiki help!

As far as I know you can't change hairstyles for anyone but yourself, though you can change the outfits. I will make a video about that very soon :)
I googled a bit and it seems the hairstyles are dlc items 🤔 but I don't know about the hats

I finished DQB1 and have that save on my switch, but the only option is to continue from the DQB2 demo?? There's nothing about unlocking stuff for having done DQB1! :C

Yes but you are not going to like it. Go to the malhala looking island and kill the pink/purple skeletons, they are time spawn 1 every 5 mins. The drop rate is low. So be ready for afk kill farm.

i have question-i just finished khrumbeldun and when i arrived it drop tons of my items on ground telling me my storage was full--i thought the itembag was infinited storage---do u ever get infinited storage,i used big coffer but its just oversized chest now.
Look at my item storage solution. I'm afraid you won't get around of doing something similar.

Most of the clothes you'll find at the sewing station. And as soon as you build all clothes they'll be diplayed in your dying pot station (which you can dye).
