You don't have to do trace when the weld does that weird thing with the image. Just select all and group. Then when you send for the cut, select all and hit cut edge. Another thing you can do to make it cut faster with an imported image is to add an offset. Also I cut with this machine each and every day and you do not have to close the lid when it is reading the registration marks. Finally, make the connecting rectangle longer so that part of the magnet doesn't stick out of your bookmarked page.
I would like to make some magnetic puzzles for some of the grands to stick on the side of refrigerator. So would you print then cut the puzzle pieces? You said something about the paper tearing easy? Could you put holographic vinyl over the magnetic sheet then cut the puzzle?
What a fabulous project! Love the bookmarks, and as always, you teach so so well. Can't wait to see your Cameo 5. Would love to know what your thoughts are between the Cameo 4 and 5 once you get to know the Cameo 5. 😊
May I ask why you close the lid for print and cut? All these years that I’ve been printing and cutting on my cameo 4 I’ve always left the lid open and lights illuminating the mat and project
The Cameo 4 sensor does not need any outside light. In fact, extra light can cause a glare or shadows that can throw the cut off. You can have the machine read the marks in a room with no light at all and get great results.
Hi there 👋 if you’re going to order magnetic paper make sure you check how many mil’s it is and if your printer can handle thick paper. I just looked up one version matte and glossy and they’re both 12 mil. I hope this helps 😊
How did it work with laminate? Would you need to up the cut settings with laminate? I’m thinking of these for an upcoming fair but want them to be durable. Thanks!
I haven't tried it yet. Maybe I'll get into that today. The machine had no trouble at all with the magnetic paper, so I'm fairly certain that it will do well with laminate.
@silhouettesuccess I think printable vinyl then do magnet sheets. What was the reason the cut lines was off? I have a circuit and I don't like it and thinking about one these machine which I know they have a newer one them the 4.
Yes, it was. I'm not sure why. I hardly ever have trouble with print and cut. I ran a second batch so I could send them to school with my son, and that one turned out great. I do think it is important to show that not every cut is going to be perfect, though.

Merci beaucoup pour ce tutoriel. Même avec mon anglais basic j'arrive facilement à comprendre, 👍.

You could, but by adding the rectangle, you get a nicer folding spot.
Replay/ thanks
