Completely understandable to not giving away all your small business information, I remember Baylee Jae a few years ago shared where she got her pins from and everyone started using the same company, and then Baylee found that the quality of the product went down since so many people were using it and like you said were selling out. It’s good to know you’re limit on sharing information and never feel like it’s gatekeeping at all, especially since this is YOUR business!! ✨
Yes!! Its sometimes hard to figure out what to share and what not to share because you want to be helpful but you also put a lot of time and research into finding materials yourself 🩷🩷
Thank you so much for showing us the entire process! I have a cricut but can still learn from this video; vertical and horizontal flip, paper type, magnet type, setting the printer to the correct paper being used. I never knew that was so important. Thank you for always smiling and being so positive and happy when you create these vlogs!! 💖 I love watching them.
I probably won't make these but loved watching the process! You are so kind for sharing your knowledge and technique with everyone💕 not many people would do that!
Great tutorial - thank you! I'd love to make some for my daughters at college! I thought you laminated them. I'll see if I can figure this out with my Cricut - thank you! 😍
Great tutorial!!!! Do more. Not sure if you are aware - but if you don't have a borderless printer you can adjust the registration inset marks using the "advance options to get more room on your page. You can change the left, top and right inset, but leave the bottom at 625.
Ahh thank you! And I think you’ll really like it! I’ve never used a cricut but I’ve owned and used silhouette cameos for so many years now, I can’t imagine life without them!
Thanks for sharing your tips! So nice of you to, and let me tell you, you do get addicted to designing although I am Not an artist myself but I still get to get creative! Thanks!!
What a fun video! I could make magnetic bookmarks all day long and they would never turn out like yours because your artwork is what makes your bookmarks super cute. Also, just wanted to say that I purchased some items from your shop on Black Friday and I love everything I bought-the quality is fantastic. I appreciate your insistence on quality products! P.S.- I have the exact Canon printer as you have and I love mine too. It is specially designed to accept thicker craft papers from the rear feed.
I have watched this video several times now, it's so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to help us learn this in such detail from start to finish. You're the best :)
Hi Emily. Lovely work! Love your colorful designs. They are very pleasing to the eyes. Great professional looking products. Congrats on your success in your small business. I had a question, You don't laminate the magnetic bookmarks?
Hi Emily, thank you for the video. It was very informative. I make craft things for children and would love to make these with my Silhouette Cameo. However, as there are magnets do you have an idea how the magnets can be covered on the inside so they can’t be taken off the bookmark. Thank you very much. Anita
Thank you so much for your video! It was very helpful. I can't order from your shop because I live in Germany but i wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your colourful and cute designs!!
Thanks for the video - Super excited to try these out. On the hunt for magnets that are strong enough, but don't add a bunch of bulk. About how many pages would be expected to be able to go between the magnets and still stick well enough?
Hi, thank you for sharing ^^ I hope to make some magnetic bookmarks next year myself~ I thought people used the type of magnet sheets that can be cut with scissors to shape, but that sure would add an extra step~ I'm curious - how often do you change the blade in your Silhouette? I'm procrastination on swapping mine, even though I see the cut starting to look a bit jaggy :P
I recently started watching you and oooohhh myyyyy gooodd I love your videos it’s soooo therapeutic like I’m begging on brainstorming on what I would love to start a small business! And I’m so thankful I found you!! Like I literally finished watching all your video! 😂literally my bf even distracted then start watching your videos with me ❤️
Just curious, if you’ve ever done just the off set and welded the offset and image vs using the trace and offset function? I was very fascinated watching your technique in silhouette studio, just was curious if the “trace” was necessary as I make stickers and only use the offset function for my cut lines. 😊
Great video. Most of the magnetic bookmark videos I've watched the printed page is laminated before cutting. I noticed you did not do that. Is this because of the photo paper you used?
How long did it take you to figure out the best way to use, and the appropriate settings for, the Cameos? I don't think I would have been able to tolerate all the trial and error needed. Thanks for sharing!
When I first got a cameo it took me I think three days of trial and error and being on chat support with a silhouette cameo support agent to help me. It was hard in the beginning!
Great video. Thank you. Is there any reason you prefer the Silhouette Cameo over Cricut? I have neither right now, so just wondering. Love the tutorial. If I get around to making a bookmark, I will send you one.😊 I will have that on my to do list next year. Love the video.❤
T?he photo paper you have in your Amazon store is sized at 8 x 10 and it is satin but when you order the 8.5 x 11 is shows as glossy. Did you set your paper size in silhouette for that size, or did you have the 8 x 11 paper?

I’ve never heard of these before and as a book lover who has her bookmarks always falling out I love this! Thank you!
They definitely come in handy! ☺️

I'm so excited that you made this video!!!! I wanted to know how you did the magnetic bookmarks!! You are soooooooo much fun to watch!!!
It took me awhile but I finally got to it! 🤣🩷 I hope you enjoyed it and it was helpful! 🥰
I did enjoy it, and yes, it was really helpful!! Thank you! @@emilycromwelldesigns
Also, you just convinced me to switch to a cameo from cricket. I’m going to buy it from your Amazon list, hopefully you get a commission. 🎉

Thank you 😊 will it work with the paper is on your Amazon list ? Since it’s 270gm not 250
So cute!! Thanks for sharing. Would you mind doing a video on how you make the stickers? I appreciate you and I love your videos!!
Sure thing! The kiss cut sticker sheet ones? ☺️
@emilycromwelldesigns yes please. Thank you so much Emily!!

However, as there are magnets do you have an idea how the magnets can be covered on the inside so they can’t be taken off the bookmark. Thank you very much. Anita
I don’t think there’s any way to cover the magnets, as long as you have a strong adhesive backing they would be fine!
Thank you so much for your video! It was very helpful. I can't order from your shop because I live in Germany but i wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your colourful and cute designs!!
Awww thank you so very much! 🥹 and I’m so glad you found the video useful!
Hi Emily! If you’re not a photoshop user can Canva be used to upload designs and make the bookmarks for that step?
I use the same photo paper, but mine is 150gsm and I laminate mine with a thin laminate, make s them last longer.
Love the VLogmas's 😊 and your products. I need to order more 💛
I’m so happy you’ve been enjoying all the videos! 🥰🩷
Thanks for the video - Super excited to try these out. On the hunt for magnets that are strong enough, but don't add a bunch of bulk. About how many pages would be expected to be able to go between the magnets and still stick well enough?

@@emilycromwelldesigns Thanks for the honesty. I will go with that and move on. Appreciate your help.
Thank you so much for sharing this, it's very helpful! Do you have any suggestions on where to get the bigger backing cards?
Either local print shops or print shops online, there’s a bunch of options! 🩷

Thank you for your helpful video. And I wanted to ask if that glossy paper you used and do you ever put laminate paper?
It’s lustre paper! I don’t laminate ☺️
Beautiful 🤩 thanks for sharing!!

I was very fascinated watching your technique in silhouette studio, just was curious if the “trace” was necessary as I make stickers and only use the offset function for my cut lines. 😊
No I haven’t! My program won’t offset unless there’s a trace line so I always do that first ☺️
Thank you for sharing, I use silhouette studios also, so I’m always fascinated by other’s technique with the program 😊
Great video. Most of the magnetic bookmark videos I've watched the printed page is laminated before cutting. I noticed you did not do that. Is this because of the photo paper you used?
No, I just don’t like laminated magnetic bookmarks personally so I don’t laminate mine ☺️

Awww hi!!! Thank you 🥹🩷 and I’m so happy to have you here!
This is fantastic, its lovely ❤❤❤

I’ve actually never used a cricut! So I’ve only ever owned a silhouette ☺️ and yesss I’d love to see how it comes out when you make one! 🩷
Hey Emily, I was looking for the link to your printer. Maybe I didn’t see it in the description
It’s in my Amazon favorites link!
Great video, thanks.
This was so fun and informative to watch thank you so much ❤
Yayyy! You’re so very welcome ☺️
T?he photo paper you have in your Amazon store is sized at 8 x 10 and it is satin but when you order the 8.5 x 11 is shows as glossy. Did you set your paper size in silhouette for that size, or did you have the 8 x 11 paper?
The 8x10 is what I use for art prints, not magnetic bookmarks. When printing you’d change the paper size to make sure it’s set to 8x10 ☺️
Would you recommend luster paper for normal bookmarks or only magnetic ones?
I think luster would be too thin for regular bookmarks 🩷
My printer can only take 280gsm. My luster 260gsm. I was planning to laminate the back
Thank you so much for this! I can't wait to try to make some of my own 🧡
You’re welcome! ☺️
That was awesome - thanks for sharing 😊
Of course! ☺️
Which machine is best for making stickers, Cricut or Silhouette? If a Silhouette, which Silhouette?🎉❤Please
When I used to do my own stickers I used my silhouette cameo!
Can you show us how you actually do your designs - the drawing side of things please, thanks. ❤
I draw everything in procreate! I did a video a few months ago showing my drawing process! I think it was called Creating art everyday ☺️

Hi, can you share what camera you use for your vlogs? Thanks
I have it linked in my video descriptions! ☺️
I'm just curious how come you don't create your bookmarks completely in Silhouette?
There’s lots of ways to set them up! This is just my personal favorite way ☺️
Thank you for your quick response. Your video was very helpful & well done 👍
Do you not laminate prior to cutting?
I don’t laminate my magnetic bookmarks! ☺️
Wouldn’t it be easier to add a stroke in photoshop?
This is just the way that works best for me! Everyone’s style will be a little different ☺️
