What an amazing mashine and piece of engineering tech. I've watched Porsche racing since 6 years old, and they never stop to amaze me. The 918 is one of those impossible dreams... ...the ultimate automotive nirvana that I wish I could drive..., ...but probably never will. Im impressed how it was driven with auto mode. Ive seen quite a few professional drivers not using the paddles on cars such as the NSX, the Audi RS3 LMS, the new 10 speed Camaro, and now this. It's fascinating how the technology allows that.

Why is everybody assuming that the Fiat and the Limey might be faster? I want to see their street ready production cars videolog of a Nürburg Ring fast lap. Those few 100g for a Gopro incl. mounting won't cut it and unofficially even mothers Fiesta has done it under 7 minutes. Above all I suppose that Marc Lieb could have had saved another 10 to 15 seconds, if he had conserved his accumulators power for the long straight towards the end. He burned all his electrical power within the curves in the beginning and later, where it would have been much more rewarding to break the 300km/h, he only had his cumbustion engines powers left, which struggled hard to bring the heavy dead batteries and e-motors weight to speed. Furthermore the P1 is not really that honest and thoroughbred hybrid car like the Porsche, it only has a way too small electrical cherry on the cake. No competition and no fair comparison at all. As far as I know its batteries have a little lesser capacity than my nose hair trimmer, it has no braking energy recoupment and only rear wheel drive. It is not at the height of the time, what the Porsche is.
Ok here is my idea. GoPro on dashboad, pilot POV, engine POV to the rear, front POV. A good Mic inside the car so we can hear the Music (engine) and take it to the limit. Record on the highest definition possible and give us the possibility to choose the view. That is the perfect video, 60" screen TV, 7.1 audio system and just relax and listen to to the engine. Is not that I can drive the car...LOL
