Pro tip for zeroing: Take a shot, get crosshairs back on bullseye, set scope to freeze image, adjust crosshairs to bullet impact, turn off freeze image.

By far, the best product review video I have EVER seen! Great job! Really nice seeing that it can effectively be used as a monocular and a rifle scope. The uses for around the home / property were awesome also! Great job!

Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus! It's a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!

I could have used that during my younger days! I grew up in the country and hunting was a way of life, both for food, and protection of live stock, and property. I now do my country living on the sofa, or front porch, and now feed those we once hunted for food, (rabbits, and squirrels). I find I even like that better anyway.

Gorgeous homestead you have. I ordered a agm ts35-640 but really considered the one you have. We shoot a long way at night for coyotes and me being new to night hunting I really needed the extra clarity to confirm targets. I thing agm is hard to beat at its price point. The rattler lacks the rangefinder but my hunting buddy can always call out range from his so wasnt a deal breaker for me.

    • @TKOutdoors

The most intriguing feature you show is the heat gain/loss of the house. Years ago my dad bought aerial IR images of his house to get info on re-insulation of his attic and to caulk around his chimney and fireplace for heat loss in the wintertime. I’m a hunter, so I understand hunting pests with the scope. Still a little expensive for us, but well worth using as a pest and varmint control tool. Thanks

First time seeing one of your videos. I was looking really hard at AGM and ATM scope. I've got an older ATN X-sight II and absolutely love it. I went with ATN because of their trade in/trade up program. I sent them a Thor LTV 3-9 that I outgrew after a few months and they in turn are sending me a Thor 4 640 2.5 to 25 and a range finder.
I do like that zoomed in picture in a picture though. That looks very useful.

There are also rechargeable CR123 cells. I don't hunt but would still love to have a thermal camera like that. Lots of household uses for it. I need to find a stud in a wall. Sure a stud finder would work. But the thermal image would be way better. I'd also love to see where I have hot and cold energy leak issues or electrical gadgets running hot. Thermal would save so much time finding that stuff.

Why not? Makes no sense as long as you are using a solid NON two piece mount. I've taken mine of and on over 20 times, still holds zero. The mount is the only reason I could think why, a single back mount might shift. Maybe ejection issues on some guns?

@@TKOutdoors Sorry but I forgot to ask this. Did the scope remount on the rifle and stay zeroed? If you showed that, I must have dozed off or distracted by something. Thanks in advance, and God bless.

I recorded that and completely forgot to to put it in the video 🤦. Surprisingly it did stay zeroed, so that's great!

Serious question. Could you use this as a monocular and a rifle scope in a stand cause thats what im looking for. Did it legitimately come back to zero after using it as as a monocular and then directly mounting it to your rifle and killing the target. If so that’s impressive!

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  2 года назад

Yes it has, I've taken it off many times and the worse shift I've seen is maybe a 1/4 inch. That's probably me. I take it off all the time.

First. I only own an agm 10-256 hand held thermal. I am thinking of upgrading to a rifle mounted thermal. From my limited research, I think you might consider the clip on model. You would leave your rifle mounted day optic on and sighted in and remove the clip on. That shouldn't change your zero. Agm makes the clip on too. It's a TC model versus a TS. The C identifies clip on the S identifies sight.

Is there a reason using your left eye positioning yourself to the left side also, instead of right? I just haven’t seen that before.

Left eye dominant and right handed. The scope is so high it actually works better this way.

I did the same exact thing. IR is OK, but the cheaper stuff gets frustrating.

Open your circuit breaker box and see if any of the electrical connections are loose, since a poor electrical connection will run hot.

Not sure if you’re still using it or not, but they made the 22mag illegal at night. Don’t want you getting hemmed up for something that use to be legal.

I know thermal is great but it shows you stuff you almost don't want to see that will drive you. Crazy about small air leaks or thermal bridging between your studs and framing, but in the end we can't fix it all
