Pro tip for zeroing: Take a shot, get crosshairs back on bullseye, set scope to freeze image, adjust crosshairs to bullet impact, turn off freeze image.
By far, the best product review video I have EVER seen! Great job! Really nice seeing that it can effectively be used as a monocular and a rifle scope. The uses for around the home / property were awesome also! Great job!
Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus! It's a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!
Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the time it took you to put all this together. I have been looking at these heavily. The CFO of my household ( the wife ) finally approved this for her husband lol Thanks again !!
good video review with real world application of the scope. I do not recall anyone else going through their house and showing the heat signatures of items, very cool (no pun intended).
I absolutely thank you, because this is the most informative with actual shooting with actual footage, you explained everything in detail and have made my decision very clear. Thank you so much again you were very explanatory and easy to understand and I will be purchasing one of these. Have a blessed day.
Love this video convinced me to buy one myself. I did go with the ts35. I subscribed as well. I use to Live in North Fort Myers FL when I was 15 and I use to have a 10-22 and loved hunting the property. This reminded me of those times. Good stuff will be watching future vids.
Based on this and your 7 month follow-up, I ordered this exact model. The best price I found was Optics Planet and they still gave me an additional 10% off. $1754.00 for this scope is a no-brainer. Thank you Andrew!
YOU Sir, are a very very good adviser/advertiser/reviewer! Because YOU just demonstrated exactly what myself and other people that are searching for thermals are looking for, a nice truly in-depth showing of this thermal! Thank YOU! I'm about to buy this one because of YOU!💥😂😂👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I could have used that during my younger days! I grew up in the country and hunting was a way of life, both for food, and protection of live stock, and property. I now do my country living on the sofa, or front porch, and now feed those we once hunted for food, (rabbits, and squirrels). I find I even like that better anyway.
Gorgeous homestead you have. I ordered a agm ts35-640 but really considered the one you have. We shoot a long way at night for coyotes and me being new to night hunting I really needed the extra clarity to confirm targets. I thing agm is hard to beat at its price point. The rattler lacks the rangefinder but my hunting buddy can always call out range from his so wasnt a deal breaker for me.
Don’t care what comment number I am. I just want to say thanks for the awesome review and I can’t wait for the comparison video. As the year progresses you should be able to get some great footage! Also, thanks to the amazing community of supporters that helped make this a reality!
The most intriguing feature you show is the heat gain/loss of the house. Years ago my dad bought aerial IR images of his house to get info on re-insulation of his attic and to caulk around his chimney and fireplace for heat loss in the wintertime. I’m a hunter, so I understand hunting pests with the scope. Still a little expensive for us, but well worth using as a pest and varmint control tool. Thanks
First time seeing one of your videos. I was looking really hard at AGM and ATM scope. I've got an older ATN X-sight II and absolutely love it. I went with ATN because of their trade in/trade up program. I sent them a Thor LTV 3-9 that I outgrew after a few months and they in turn are sending me a Thor 4 640 2.5 to 25 and a range finder. I do like that zoomed in picture in a picture though. That looks very useful. Thank you for the video.
Really appreciatep.. and he was really mad.... snorting and growling like if he got loose he would tear me apart! One 89 grain subsonic .22 short... KUDO'S young man... this is a great solution... to an application in need THERMAL ... but do have to say the extra for 640... yessir!
Nice demonstration! There are so many uses for that thing it's unbelievable. One of these days imma win the lottery and get one. Would, as a kid, occasionally do some coyote hunting at a friends ranch when they got bad and the most troublesome part was hitting the spotlight and then aiming, would have loved that thing back then.
I have 2 German Shepherds that take care of every critter brave or dumb enough to come down into my valley. But, I love my thermal for coyotes. They will run right up to you within 15 yards.
Great video and very informative. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights here. Every little bit of information helps a fella decide what and how much should be invested given your anticipated use. Thank you again, God bless and please keep up the great work! Regards, 😎👍
Just bought the same scope. I’m very pleased with it. It would be nice to see you do a video going through all the functions of the scope. Did you have to do an update on yours? Thanks
I really do like the red hot when you’re searching for something that is gonna b over 65 yrd an gonna b coming from woods it helps find shapes are small spots coming through the woods until it gets closer once I know it’s there I do like switching to white hot or black hot
Nice! I have a Ruger 10/22 in an archangel stock, 16" threaded carbon fiber barrel. I am still waiting on my Dead Air Mask suppressor. It will be a year next month, Currently running a Sightmark Wraith N/V. Thinking of using a thermal monocular for detection and the N/V for identifying and shooting. Much more economical and I already have the N/V. Love all your videos! Keep them coming.
11:07 the official operating temperature range of this optic is -4 -131 Farenheit. Power consumption goes up in the cold. The picture is more clear but things to consider.
I just bought mine (and I mean just before starting your video) and I can’t wait, seems like such a great tool, not the best thermal on the market but bang for buck and my use case? It seems like you cannot beat the price tag (still not cheap but I remember thinking I’ll get a cool thermal scope a year or two ago and just seeing $5,000+ ones)
There are also rechargeable CR123 cells. I don't hunt but would still love to have a thermal camera like that. Lots of household uses for it. I need to find a stud in a wall. Sure a stud finder would work. But the thermal image would be way better. I'd also love to see where I have hot and cold energy leak issues or electrical gadgets running hot. Thermal would save so much time finding that stuff.

I've had two dealers tell me not to mount the Rattler on a bolt action, but I see you and others doing it. What's your advice? Thank you for the great review!
Why not? Makes no sense as long as you are using a solid NON two piece mount. I've taken mine of and on over 20 times, still holds zero. The mount is the only reason I could think why, a single back mount might shift. Maybe ejection issues on some guns?
@@TKOutdoors Sorry but I forgot to ask this. Did the scope remount on the rifle and stay zeroed? If you showed that, I must have dozed off or distracted by something. Thanks in advance, and God bless.
Serious question. Could you use this as a monocular and a rifle scope in a stand cause thats what im looking for. Did it legitimately come back to zero after using it as as a monocular and then directly mounting it to your rifle and killing the target. If so that’s impressive!
First. I only own an agm 10-256 hand held thermal. I am thinking of upgrading to a rifle mounted thermal. From my limited research, I think you might consider the clip on model. Is there a reason using your left eye positioning yourself to the left side also, instead of right? I just haven’t seen that before.
Left eye dominant and right handed. The scope is so high it actually works better this way.
Love it🙌🏼
You can also check all your electrical for hot spots/poor connections
Correct
I'm leaning towards the ts 35 640 or maybe a tc or different manf not sure
Love mine, but more clarity is always welcomed.
I wasted money on 2 infrared scopes, this thermal scope will be my next purchase.
I did the same exact thing. IR is OK, but the cheaper stuff gets frustrating.
I'm glad I'm not the only one...
Open your circuit breaker box and see if any of the electrical connections are loose, since a poor electrical connection will run hot.
Correct
Is that QD mount already attached to the scooter did you have to attach it?
Already attached
Were you shooting right-handed but using your left eye?
Yes
Awesome video , armadillos for supper . Gotta be better than raccoon.
Ummmmm, I'd much rather eat racoon. 😬
Curious how rugged these would be on an air rifle (which are notoriously hard on optics...)

On private property for nuisance animals? That doesn't make any sense. This is now on a automatic 22lr.

Yep
I know thermal is great but it shows you stuff you almost don't want to see that will drive you. Crazy about small air leaks or thermal bridging between your studs and framing, but in the end we can't fix it all
No kidding 😬
