And in her case each character she plays is like a carbon copy of herself whereas Patrick's characters can be differentiated, like how you can and can't tell if the doctor and Lois' father from the family is played by one person.

Aren't we sick of hearing Awkwafina's voice in every single new animated movie? Dude, You have professional voice actors who are extraordinary at their jobs. You got travis Willingham, you got matt mercer ( he's a god when it comes to voice acting). You got women who are as good as Jennifer hale, laura baily, maybe even better. Yet you put the same tired voice in everything till we start to have Awkwafina's voice in our dreams just yak yak yak'n away. Plz use the talent you have and forget the "name" focus on the quality. Take a hint. The next animated movie better not have awekwafina & Chris pratt. Put them in live action movies and, for the love of god, leave the animated movies to be brought to life by professional voice actors.
Finally someone makings sense of themself. She is not a good voice actor. It is speculated that she improvise when doing VA but the final cut isnt even good😂, idk she needs to go away from voice acting ASAP

Agree, professional voice actors have been trained how to convey emotions through their voice, they also have the range that can distinguish one character from another. Why not just use professional voice actor in animated movie?

I've been able to pinpoint the voice of every voice actor that has a recognizable voice, she's the same. That does not make her a BAD voice actor, the hating is so random pls shut up

Honestly I have nothing wrong with her, and I actually LOVE her voice. However my main problem is how she doesn’t add anything different with different characters, it just sounds like she reading likes and not *adding* to the character

She doesnt play the characters, she plays herself. She doesn’t only make the character’s voice bad, she makes the character itself bad, due to the fact that the directors let her improvs in the movie.

I watched Kung Fu Panda 4, and I hadn't heard of her before. Then I heard people talking about how much she was in. I noticed her voice when I relistened to the Little Mermaid Remake, as well as Sishu again.

Erm… kinda freaking awkward but there is no diversity or changes with any of the characters she voices. Her improv just turns all the characters into different versions of her.

Yall should care more about the movie and animations than someone voice in the movie. I’m too busy looking at the movie and how it looks in the storyline then someone’s voice.

I think the only character that went well with her voice was the wolf from kung fu panda 4.

I wish that The Dark Crystal prequel show would’ve been more successful…just feels like they should’ve had one last season because of the way it ended. I really am going to miss films being made that way…especially when it comes to Godzilla films. Combining puppetry, CGI and SFX is the best way to do things.

It's said that she improvises the lines she says, and while I think it might be a better thing for good voice actors, it's really not for her. Because of her improv, the characters don't feel unique lol. They all feel like Awkwafina characters with only different appearances.

@@Calanoneko She just has no variations compared to professional voice actors, people hire her just because her voice is unique, not because of the countless different things you need that considers you as a good voice actor, that's why her character roles usually have the same personality type.
I can say her voice is very unique, but if she is only considered as a voice actor based on her voice alone, then she isn't qualified for voice acting.

How can you rank 10 voices that all the exact same? If you blind folded someone and played a clip of any of these characters and they were asked which character it was they would have no idea.

They’re way more than that as well like Ryan remolds and Dwayne Johnson are also perfectly good voice actors with the right direction and roll. I don’t think she’s really a bad voice actor either there’s rolls I really like her in. I think the issue is she gets picked to do rolls that don’t necessarily suit her or she’s just not directed well or not at all, in the same way Chris Pratt does or actors can be cast badly for a roll, we know Chris Pratt can voice act he does it in the Lego movie, but he just not the guy to voice Garfield it’s just not his roll. I don’t get mad at the voice actors for that though, like a lot of the people in here are doing, it’d be like me being mad at the McDonald’s burger cook for my issues with factory farming. Like he didn’t decide where the meat came from or how it was produced, why be mad at him?

At first I actually liked her voice. It's a very good sarcastic voice, but she doesn't have much talent as a voice actress and she's overhired in my opinion. it's like what AMVs did to Linkin Park. I still enjoy her as Sisu, Ms. Tarantula, and Zhen though..

I find it really weird that so many people are so upset you can tell it’s her voice acting, like that’s some sort of horrid voice acting sin all of a sudden. Like tons of voice actors have easily identifiable voices. I can tell when Tara strong is playing characters o can tell it’s her. When Alex Mercer plays a character I can tell it’s him. And a bunch of people keep mentioning Keith David, he’s like the best example I can think of, of this. He has a super identifiable voice(like to a of voice actors do), it’s pretty obvious when he’s playing a character. The issue isn’t that she plays similar types of characters or how good of a voice actor she is, it’s just an over saturation thing.(which isn’t really on her) If you replaced her with any other voice actor or actor, people would be just as tired of them.
Bro, hire me! If I just had to talk normal I would be a pro at this 😭😭😭
