It is scary how perfectly your channel matches my world. I finally got the courage to fly with flight assists off with my Carbon cub 2s and quickly went from wanting nothing more than long extended floaty flights (like a turkey vulture) to wanting the option to try new stuff knowing I can throw the safe switch if / when I get in over my head! (First rolls and loops this past week). I was hoping Horizon might have this one on a Memorial Day special though.. Also, I love those suggested updates (lights and tires).
Older video but I'm looking at this plane for my next and I like how you say you like doing touch and goes, me too! Thank you for an informative entertaining video!
I (re)learned to fly on a valiant. Re-learned mild 3d on it. I bought another valiant my LHS had. Swapped esc to a 60a avian, running 4s/2200 in it STOCK now, using an apc 11x5.5 propeller. It's fast, aerobatic, & is perfect on grass! YANKED THE 631 RX, using a normal AR620. Maxed throws. It came STOCK with a BL15 980kv motor.
@Fat Guy Flies RC Motor (bl10, bl15) can handle up to 6s. 4s is plenty in a valiant. As an upgrade, I run the 880kv BL15 in my timber x (green) 60a avian, 4s. It's merely 4mm bigger than stock motor (bl10) in all the timber line.
I agree 💯 Horizon Hobby should make this 4s and install lights !! I couldn't count the flights I have on my first Valiant. I upgraded the ESC and had a blast on 4s. Was used when I got it. It's now retired. I have a NIB. For future flights if I decide too. . I Highly recommend you check out the Flying Tigers RC Transmitter Tray.
Yes please... a Valiant V2! Why don't you paint and mod your Valiant? Might turn out to be an inspiration for E-flite and HH. Besides, I bet a bunch of viewers besides me would like to see your improved Valiant.
Yeah I said it1 The E-Flite Valiant 1.3m IS the best 2nd rc plane you can own!
Thanks for your advice I got one, just flew it 3 times so far and it's great
It’s my favorite plane, I love flying it calmly, best plane I have.

Yes the Valiant is by far the best second plane!!!

Glad it was helpful! You cannot go wrong with the Valiant. It is an all around great plane!
Yes it is. Great flyer
Sure is
Nice. Looks like a great flyer
It is!

Well I am planning on an upgrade to mine. And I have a spare 60 avian ESC. Thanks for sharing that the motor can handle it.

Cool looking rx tray I may get one. Thanks!
the esc in the valiant is 3s-6s capable its stated on the esc itself
True but I would not want to push it beyond a 4s lipo.

Actually it is on the project list.
All it needs is an avian esc (stock 30a eflite esc) & swap the propeller.
@@old-rcplane-phart Agree, but I'd sure like to see him add Tundra tires and a new paint scheme.
@@BillKisel
'Valiant X'😅
@@old-rcplane-phart why do you need to swap the propeller?
My Valiant is the only plane of mine I never had to replace or crash
Its just a reliable good friend!
Don't forget the top loader on the 4s v2. Rc hackers makes those short fat batteries, I think there drone batteries but there good. Trusted site.
Thanks for that!
4s 2200 packs fit perfectly! & can have 7 minute flights🤷♂️.
how does compare to the flying characteristics of the Turbo Timber Evolution?
Actually very comparable on 6s , now that I have also flown her on 4s she is much slower.
@@FatGuyFliesRC I’m guessing you mean 3s instead of 6s?
