  • My Brother gave me a E-Flite F-14 Tomcat twin 40mm for Christmas! Question I had... is a twin 40mm EDF worth $300? I think it is a cool RC Plane but I DO believe it is a little overpriced!

    I have one also and fully agree with you about the price. I could see $300 if it had rudders and maybe make it a little bit bigger and have twin 50's
    I am happy with it though because It's a cool little EDF and my 15 year old Daughter loves to fly it.

    Refreshing to watch a review of an HH product where the reviewer doesn't rave about how absolutely wonderful and life-changing their overpriced piece of foam is. Might still pick it up now that it's $270 but I really wish the stock receiver/esc would allow for differential thrust if they weren't gonna bother giving it rudders. Thanks for keeping it honest!

    It’s kinda hard to be both against and for the price. the 64mm F15 (also no rudder) got bumped up to $250. for $50 more you get the F14. at that price difference it’s basically what you prefer. both are somewhat decent first jets

    I cannot keep the swing wings connected to the servo arms. After One flight the wings keep disconnecting. Thinking about fixing the wings in the forward position. Not happy about it.

    Hey you should do this more often it's the first time I've ever seen your video pop up that's not a short. I'm kind of interested to see what you mean about a mix that adds a rudder.

    • @Jays_rcgarage
      @Jays_rcgarage  Год назад

      Thanks! Working on the long form, the mix is Ail>rud I believe. Have to check later. Essentially it just makes the ailerons move when you use the rudder.. for someone like me who is use to steering with rudder it will help simulate the feel on a 3 channel plane.

  • @DronemanJoeRc
    @DronemanJoeRc Год назад +1

    Yeah I agree I got one myself and its a bit overpriced. I would say $199 the most. Oh btw watch those wings they are designed to pop out of the clevis when you tilt during landing. Its a bit of pain in the ass to get that wing top off bc the screws are very small, so have spares bc I will bet most will be taking the top off to reset the wing alot.

    • @Jays_rcgarage
      @Jays_rcgarage  Год назад +1

      Hilarious you are saying this. Yesterday as I was taxing this in the wind flipped it and it happened to my left wing. Reset the clevis this morning!

      I'm converting mine to a magnetic attachment for the top cover. This design is an epic fail. One little snag at the field and you're taking 4 micro screws out to fix?!? On a rudderless model?!? Ridiculous. Removing that cover should take no longer than resetting the wing connection. They should've made it so you don't need to remove the cover to reset. Engineers were on holiday. Not the best $300 I've spent.

    If you can separate the ESC's to 2 separate channels in the reciever, you can mix them back together with differential thrust. That will give you a rudder type feel. Just go easy, otherwise it will turn into a Frisbee!! Lol As for the price, I totally agree!! It's 1/2 the price of the Freewing twin 80!!

    • @friendlyreptile9931
      @friendlyreptile9931 Год назад

      True and i would love to get the Freewing *BUT*: To big for my car, 6S packs are much to expensive for me and if you add all that stuff together, than it's okay for this plane.

    I got one off ebay for half the price and glad I didn't have to pay retail. Little disappointed with performance being it's a jet. I like speed and this doesn't deliver that. Also lack of rudders. $200 would be a fair price IMO

  • @byte2600

    I agree. I want one bad but waiting until it comes down in price. It seems all their planes are overpriced. I saved up for a spectrum radio 10 channel and then all the drones quit releasing with a spectrum option. I see Eflight and spectrum need to up their game as their products are losing prestige and respect quickly.

I am in no way cheap but come HH. I have 2 UMX citations, 2 UMX A10s and a UMX turbo timber and after buying a Blitzwerks 1.1M T28 I feel like I over paid for them and I feel my 50mm F18 amd F16 are better values.
