I'd love to see more of these drones in the consumer market, flying wings with good cameras for recording the ground. I know that for civvie purposes quadcopters generally make more sense as they can hover, but I figure something like faem, ranch and reserve owners could make use of the lower noise, higher efficiency and mission time of flying wing and for everyone else it would be cool to own one.
Ruddervators (rudder and elevator combined, not tailerons) Tailerons are all flying horizontal tails that are used for pitch and roll (like the F-14!) but great stuff Jay!
You can tell how solid this is during landing and it makes that sound. It looks like a nice relaxing plane to fly, I like when big planes are easy to land it makes it so much less intimidating
Got a skyhunter 1800 not to long ago and I freaking love that thing, may have to check this puppy out as well soon. Also just got into flight controllers and data telemetry so this stuff is only getting better and better with time.
I got a project in mind and would love to get my hands on the STLs for the camera dome. Pair this with the DJI 03 air unit and this would be great for search and rescue missions as well as utility line inspections.
I definitely want one. But I would have to sell one of my telescopes or my e-bike. Those will definitely sell to any ex-army Shadow guys or gals happening to be into RC.
Hi. I really like your channel, and i relate because umx planes also got me really interested, they are all i fly lol. Speaking of umx, you have really ought to try the micro conscendo. Its an absloulte rocket, without doubt best "performing" umx yet. Its basically a pocket jet that can glide!
There were a few small things the factory had to change. The original canopy was screws and now they are magnetic. A few things in the build instructions as well. I’m sure it’s about to be released though !
In general I do like it, but I don't like the noise gear too flimsy, I would change the prop to a 3 or 4 blade prop and longer. For the "bombs" I would exchange that for more battery instead...Would like to know how the military transceiver is setup and try and duplicated it for civilian use. Maybe flash a router?
Hope this doesn't upset you since you didn't ask me. I found the best way to get good at landing is simply practice. Rather than flying around, just keep flying barely off the ground and immediately land, over and over. Also try to fly high once, and test out your stall speed, see how much throttle yours needs to just barely keep from stalling. I would also consider looking up some tips for landing from actual pilots, there is a term some use called "catching the pillow". It doesn't happen as well on RCs, but normally when flying,if you were to intentionally try to hit the ground, there is a bit of push back that makes it feel like it doesn't want to go down when flying straight. Low throttle, low descent speed, come up to runway and ride it down, right before touchdown, raise nose and drop throttle to below stall speed. Rather than flying onto the runway, you should be stalling onto runway while you're nose is pointing up. Practice this over and over and in no time, you'll be spreading Butter every time. I'd still love to see him do a video on it though. I also hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by sharing my two cents. Hope this was somewhat helpful.
Buy a VTOL, like a HeeWing T1 or similar. Once you get a good feel for the controls, then start working at horizontal landings. If anything goes wrong at any point, just switch into hover and try again. Or you can just buy a cheap foamy and lots of glue.
@@BabaYagaFPV I have no idea why, but yt censored your comment. I can only see it in notifications. You said nothing worthy of censorship,so I assume you are often sharing your truthful opinions, and they must often go against "The Narrative",and I for one respect the hell out of that.
@@normalhuman9260 weird yt doesn’t approve of me, guess I’m doing it right lol. I recommend the OP to look at the small foam vtol planes, they take off and land like a quadcopter, super easy, and you can practice normal landings and if anything goes wrong you can just switch to vtol mode and avoid the crash.
The full scale has a wankel rotary single rotor engine. Wanted to build with gas but now hearing the electric it sounds very similar and may go for the the electric setup.

get rid of that controller get a radio master so you can use a flight controller then u can make it fly its self and use the goggles , i have my planes like this i would do that if i had that plane

pilots who use flaps should Understand that when flaps are deployed they make more Inboard-located lift. this BAD.!!! because such lift can partially unload the ailerons.! in other words, the use of flaps can result in a Reduction of control authority, in Addition to that which occurs due to flying near stall speed.!
information 3:12 the excessive distance between the elevators and cg will result in a significant amount of damping of responses to elevator inputs.! the mass in the Two CF tail booms significantly increases the amount of tail-heaviness in the model's dom. the main landing gear should be located below the cg; this correctly puts the main lg just aft-of the model's c-m. such incorrect location of the main lg will affect the way an aircraft rotates, at take-off. 1 & 4 are correct. 3 is wrong, you buy the ELECTRIC wooden prop. More efficient, you will have better thrust and longer run times. Yes, we will need the correct ratio.. Wayne and Jeff did the math and 16x6 is the solution. Up 1” in diameter and down 1 in pitch. Thanks for watching 👍🏼😎
Don’t crash… kidding !! lol fly the plane all the way to the floor. Elevator and play with the throttle to keep it up till you are just about ready for that final flare !
