That certainly got Uncle Percival in a happy mood and demanded such a delight to be only married with custard ..Your up very early Uncle Geoff to produce this beauty .
@@geoffsbakingblog Just bought some pretty apples, pinky/ cream, outside, named"jazz". New to me. I will add some poppy seed to batter and grated rough skin lemon on top for fun. For tea time Sunday afternoon.Thankyou once again.
Ooooh Geoff, what a beautiful cake, this one is high on my ‘baking soon’ cake list ……looks stunning………thank you so much…..great tutorial……love Jan xx♥️xx
Thanks Geoff for a simple but delicious recipe. I love apples in a cake or muffin. I’ll be making this soon. I might try peaches too. My little tree produced a nice crop of peaches this year. I think it was because of our wet winter in Southern California. Love all your videos!
Hi Geoff. I remember this (or something similar) being a favourite of mine when I was a kid in Germany. Looking forward to giving this a go. I've a few of your videos to catch up on as I've been in hospital recently
Hi Geoff. I'm sorry not to have been watching recently. You are such a gifted baker, and I'm truly envious of your ability. This cake looks so beautiful. Being a single diabetic with no family does rather mean I don't make many of these fabulous recipes - but nevertheless I absolutely love watching your videos, and rejoice that others are able to benefit from your excellent presentation skills. Keep well and look after yourself. As ever, Peter A :) :) :)
Perfect recipe. It’s simple, ingredients are usually in the kitchen for this, it’s the right thing to make when you haven’t got a clue what dessert to make. The cake rising in-between the apples gives it an extra dimension making it appear that there is some secret to making this cake. I will be definitely baking this one!!! Its even a fantastic cake to bringing along for an invite as a gift. Thank you I love all your sweet treats
I thank you for this as would be such a great alternative apple desert to my tried and true apple pie that I turn to when I have alot of apples and someone wants a sweet treat. I will be making this for the week end right now as it is cooler in the kitchen now. It will be 104F degrees this weekend and not cooling off soon during the day. WHew! Too hot for me.
It's interesting that this cake recipe uses a lot less butter then the recipes i'm used to, but it's still so moist! The apples play a big part in that i'm sure.
Hi Tamina. Yes Bramley apples are cooking apples and are quite sour. I used Braeburns. On my blog I said 'I chose Braeburn apples for my cake. For me they are just perfect. However any crunchy eating apple, such as Gala or Granny Smith will work well too. Small apples work best for the cake. The recipe needs 3 or 4 small ones."
Beautifully done Geoff 👏👏👏 😋😋
Hi Barbara. Thanks very much.

Hi Julie-joy. Good idea to make it today to avoid that stifling heat.

HI Nattie X. I am sure that some juice was released during baking and the volume of eggs also contributed to a lovely moist and soft cake.
Good morning Geoff.
HI Mary. Up early again.
Hi geoff❤❤❤ another lovely baking recipe thanks

@@geoffsbakingblog Oh yes.
Were the apples sweet as with bramley cooking apples they have to be sweetened with sugar .i sprinkle flaked almonds on the top ..😊
