Probably better if add 1/2 tsp of baking soda as well. This cake look kind of flat. I also add cinnamon powder and a dash of nutmeg in mine. It was super delicious.
I've just finished eating a portion of this apple cake, I gotta say that it came out looking great and cooked perfectly with a nice texture, however, we all felt that the cake itself needed more sugar as it was a little bit bland, now this could have something to do with the actual quantity and quality of the apples, but I think that the batter itself is the problem. Good video anyway, as it inspired me to actually make it!
Followed written ingredients with exceptions, used green apples instead, used vanilla extract instead of vanilla sugar, used glass pie dish instead of that large one in the video and did two circling layers of apple slices which makes for a much better looking cake and thickness, you can see my circling pattern of apples poking out the top so it looks way better than the one in the video. I cut up my own almonds (didn't have sliced), forgot to add salt, and decided to grease my pie dish with butter, the dough consistency was a wee bit runnier but I had added a little more flour to thicken it up but didn't want to go overboard, assuming 180 degrees is Celsius, in the oven now... pending.... some people said they wanted more sugar but I didn't add any extra sugar to the batter, I did however heat up a tablespoon of honey with a tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt and added it to the top of the cake and let it cook like that for the last 10 minutes... So the cake is out the oven and its gorgeous... I mean the one in the video looks like trash compared to this masterpiece lol! But, I will need to let it sit for awhile before cutting into it. Will update later.
Okay- passed the taste test. Would've been very boring if I had used a big glass baking dish like in the video, but because the dough is a bit simple, the layered apples really pop, lovely texture, and also the salted honey butter mixture I added to the top took this to another level. 8/10

I added cinnamon and it brought it up another level
@@MrAbrasive9012 when you add cinnamon you cannot taste the apple, its very subtle , cinn is very strong and people use it like food coloring.
Just baked one. Delicious and nice looking. Thank you!

This looks like a wonderful recipe❤
Super delicious 🤤🤤
Delicious!!!
Can you make it without caster sugar
💯💥
What is vanilla sugar?
Same question but I'd guess the name possibly explains it's self. Dried vinallia with sugar is my guess.
@@stickstixk3707 I used a teaspoon of vanilla extract instead

I did the same thing 😊
ASMR
Bake for 30mis? Is that enough time?
It's in the oven rn!! Really scared to try it because it taste the batter really weird
😊
I think the baking dish was too large for that amount of batter. A smaller dish would make a higher ca!e.
that's not a dough,it is a batter mic
Video amounts differ from written ingredients.
Dough? I think batter...
Looks dry and depressing
