- Kandy is one of the cultural cities of Sri Lanka. While the botanical garden and the Kandy viewpoint are interesting to see, most people visit the Temple of the Tooth, the big Buddha or attend the famous Kandyan Dance. Although we felt that Kandy wasn't our favourite place of Sri Lanka, we did try our best which ended up in a lot of laughing as you'll see 😉

The Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya are absolutely beautiful Its near the University as is the place I stay at every year Summit View , Its on top of a Mountain with the most stunning views .Their Pool is wonderful and the food very good and reasonably priced.
Its a shame you didn't spend time at the Gardens
Kandy is smelly? I never noticed that. However, the air quality is a bit low compared to other cities because it's traffic is dense and not very windy like Colombo (near the sea).
but we people love to watch temple..the inner view of temple .
you missed the greatest place in kandy. temple of the tooth relic.

In my opinion you should have gone to see Sri Dhalada Maligawa, It's really beautiful and you can learn a lot about the nation's history & culture. But still the best!...

If you go to Habarana or Dambulla, check Tree Tops Jungle lodge Habarana or Elephant Watch Hut Habarana. You can literally sleep with elephants in the night. Plus you can do a night safari which is awesome.

Sunday July 30 - Travel from Ja Ela to Mirrissa - 3:30 am
Maybe check a turtle hatchery on the way for a max of 2 hour a long the way
Check in to the airbnb - explore - sleep
Monday July 31 - Travel to Tangalle at 4 am ETA 6 am to rent a Kayak and enter Lagoon by 7 am
Leave Tangalle to Deniyaya - aprox. 2.5 HRS - Check in to airbnb -Explore - Sleep
Tuesday August 1st - Wake up at 5 am - Arrive at Sinharajah for 7 am - 7-8 hrs in the park and leave for Udawalawa right after - Check in to the airbnb and explore if there is time - sleep
Wednesday August 2nd - Wake up at 4-5am - Go to Udawalawa National Park for 7 am - Leave at 4-5 pm - to ELLA
Thursday August 3rd - Wake up at 4 am to drive to Hortons plains National Park for 7 am - Leave by 12-1 pm back to Ella - Explore ELLA
Friday August 4th - Leave to Kandy by the Train (have my driver meet me at Kandy) - get to Kandy explore and drive back to Colombo
