Bought a new one of these a few weeks back (price also includes a superb PRS quality gig bag) I was so pleased with the guitar I ordered yet another one the next day (to keep in our rehearsal room at our Bass players farm) Superb guitars for the price and both sound wonderful through my Rocker Orange valve head and Zilla custom cab. Thank you for the video demo.
@AlanSturgess If I may chime in too... I just got one today and love it. It's so light It literally feels like you don't have a guitar on while standing. Very well balanced as well. Also takes overdrive pedals really well.
@ZenDriveSeven you'll have to adjust the truss rod. when changing to higher gauge strings the necks on most guitars tend to bow because of change in tension so you'll have to tighten the truss rod.
@LittleEmoBoy001 , i think that its that kind of sound that the prs made compared to other guitars that made me want to buy this, i love the clean slightly " tinny " if you will sound that it makes!
Why don't you guys ever do a demo of the awesome SE singlecut Vintage Natural model with the natural mahogany back and headstock??? Please do a demo of this model if you can, thanx.
Excellent demo! Did you have any intonation issues when you went to a higher guage string? Mine loves 9's but hates 10's or 11's. I did my best adjusting the compensated bridge with no luck. Thanks!
When you demo the clean tone, I hear a touch of reverb. I compared it to the clean sound on your demo of the mahogany singlecut and the korina sounds almost... warmer/deeper? Maybe even brighter? I'm wondering if you used anything else to influence that tone during the clean demo or if that is something that comes from the korina wood.
Respond to this video... It is a little brighter than what you would hear in a LP or a PRS with a mahogany body, but could still pull those tones off. Especially when using it in the neck position.
hi. always like and appreciate the videos. just wondering, would i be able to coil tap the pickups? if not, if i replace the pickups, can i then coil tap them?
All electric guitars do unless they have some oddball tremolo or something wrong with them. If you could manage to build a 5 pound les paul, but the neck joint was good and the bridge seated properly, it'd still sustain as long as you'd ever want it to.
@tubaeli93 PERHAPS YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT BERKLEE IN BOSTON--THERE IS A TEACHER THERE NAMED MICK GOODRICK, THAT IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO STUDY WITH, WOULD BE AN HONOR---
i really like the brighter midrange punch tone but to me it still sounds toy-ish/plastic and slightly cheap sounding. HOWEVER, i would still purchase one because i like that bright midrange tone.
Got one in 2021. Fell in love with the neck.

These are floating around for about $400 now - used. I can't imagine being able to build anything like it for close to that and just ordered one.

@jrjorda The body wood. The regular SE Single Cut is Mahogany with a Maple top.
finally a reviewer that can play
I really enjoy your playing/demos! The only trouble is that I own too many guitars now! Love 'em all. Thanks again.
@AlanSturgess The one we have is 5.9 Lbs.
@Beenyad I was choosing between the same two as well. I went the PRS route. Fit and finish are excellent!

I've got the same guitar but with bird inlays and a bound neck.
I have one, I love it!

wow!! this one sounds great!!
just got mine, exactly like this. I love it a lot! Thanks for this video clip that somehow influenced my decision to buy one. ^_^

Great sound what kind of amp and effects are you using.
@drdrewcc06 They were both done with the same set up so your hearing the wood tones.
Sorry for the misinformation, this guitar is Korina Wood (also known as Limba).
You can not coil tap on the SE 245. If you install 4-conductor humbuckers you would be able to coil tap with a push-pull pot.

@LewisPoldenBaby The Korina has a more upper Midrange and will sound brighter.

Cool jazz Dude :)
luv from London
@cikicrocus It's not a baseball bat neck it's slightly slimmer than a LP neck.
I'm trying to decide between this, a Blacktop strat (possibly tele) or an Agile Al-3000. Anyone have any opinions?
does this have enough sustain to play santana and guns n roses stuff?

Neck pickup almost sounds like a hollow body
