How nice it would be to have a president who can speak coherently and intelligently on complex topics.
Biden is better at running the economy though. I don’t care if the President is a mute, so long as he does a good job managing the country. The US economy has grown 3 times faster since 2020 compared to other western countries like Canada or Western Europe or East Asia. Since 2020 the US economy has grown 9%, while most other developed countries have only grown around 2% to 3%

Basically, no President in the last 50-70 years did more for US National Security or had such a lasting positive effect on the daily lives of American Citizens, yet all most high school textbooks typically teach about him is Watergate. They never want to teach that for his reelection campaign he won by 18 million votes, 60.7% of the popular vote, the widest margin in US history for a presidential election. He was a Great American President they we probably take for granted more than any other because of a media and department of education smear campaign that doesn't look at his body of work. Not to mention he served honorably as an officer in WWII and received two Medals of Commendation from the Navy and Marine Corps for "meritorious and efficient performance of duty as Officer in Charge of the South Pacific Combat Air Transport Command" and "meritorious service, tireless effort and devotion to duty." We would all do ourselves a favor to reexamine his accomplishments.

Damn when I took Advanced Placement History in high school it basically summed up Nixon’s presidency as “Nixon bad because Watergate.”
History is written by the victors.
Normal history: Liberal
AP History: Advanced Liberal
Kissinger was considered the brains of Nixon's foreign policies. I took AP history in the early 1980s...the main "historic" things associated with Nixon were Watergate, Vietnam, the oil embargo, dirty hippies, the dilapidation of New York City, Detroit, (the two Kennedys in the 60s) and then the fall of Saigon in 1975...oh yeah, China & Kissinger...and a lot of Cold War Russia issues. The Space Race was a Kennedy thing even though it culminated during Nixon's admin. The 1970s were a rotten era to think about. Add militant feminism and blatant KKK/swastika marches...much of the 1970s were a giant, unending turd needing to be flushed. Nixon's eloquence at the time was like bacon grease mixed with hot vanilla ice cream.

@@QuitCryingYouLostDonald Trump, he said the best words that his friends would call him, “Donald, you always says the best words.” And I say, “Thank you, I think Nixon is pretty good too.”
@@QuitCryingYouLostI'm pretty sure Nixon supports Donald Trump😂 so might want to reevaluate your media driven narrative😂
@@QuitCryingYouLostwhat about Donald Trump is bad with actual facts now. Not any accusations with no evidence just like all the charges that are against him😂 he did nothing but make America great to the best of his ability, which is better than Biden to say the least. The quality of life when Trump was president was the best quality of life I have ever experienced. I was personally in a worse situation than I'd ever been in, but the country in general was better than it had ever been In the last 30 years way better than when Obama was president for sure better than when Biden was president go on name. Any actual reason why Trump is bad? I would admit he has a little bit of a mouth. He can talk a lot of trash that doesn't disqualify him though some actual solid reasoning. I doubt you can. I know you can't, but let's see you attempt it😂
@@marcuspiercr6392 Nixon was horrible and im saying that shows how bad donald trump is to be worse than nixon 😄🤣. I cant wait to see trump lose again lol
One of the smartest presidents we’ve had.
Israel doesnt exist. When the Australian army took the Palestinian state from the Ottoman Turks it was called Palestine, it was called Palestine even by the Romans. Christ ended the Jewish nation after they rejected Him the 12 tribe's are defunct their temple empty
Except for the schedule drug list he completely fucked up America because of that
He cursed the Jews in his administration after it was over. He knows all about their character.
Yet he knowingly recorded himself when conspiering to bug his political oponents!
@@lookoutforchrisYeah this whole talk about our interest aligning is complete bs when they have done nothing but destroy our country. They also hate Jesus and killed JFK
Brilliant. I went to one of his rallies when I was a young teen….very exciting.
Underappreciated
I especially loved the part where he was a war criminal, racist and all around a piece of human filth. One of his many quotes :
Nixon: A nuclear bomb, does that bother you?… I just want you to think big, Henry, for Christ’s sake! The only place where you and I disagree is with regard to the bombing. You’re so goddamned concerned about civilians, and I don’t give a damn. I don’t care
Exactly how a president should speak & think.
I'm So Glad to see these clips of Nixon airing now. It's high time those who don't know see the real man, and just how on top of it and how smart he was.
Nixon and Kissinger made one of the most powerful duos for American statesmanship we’ve seen. Nixon was very smart, but you can also hear Kissinger’s intellect echo in his speech.
We need Nixon now more than ever!
I got a bunch of those Bumper Stickers ❤
Trump 2024 ❤
Nixon might not be the best, but it's definitely the most underrated president Americans ever had.
Don't believe everything a joow tells you
Fascinating and wise words…
Where politics was concerned, Nixon was a street fighter.
Nixons' foreign policies were superb.
He maintained excellent" balanced relationships that avoided discord among US allies "and" nations that were potential US foes.
So well spoken. Such clarity of verb and impeccable word choice. Plus, a great voice. Time to reexamine Nixon.
He wasn’t perfect but he was far from the monster they made him out to be.
Re-examine him? Because he speaks coherently and makes sense? Millions of absolutely horrible people speak intelligently and coherently, and are still horrible people.
And then you have people like … [fill in the blank], who are horrible and can’t string together a decent sentence if their life depended on it.
But sure, Nixon could articulate complex thoughts. I mean, I still don’t really get how we got to the point where we’d prefer a president/senator/congressman-woman/mayor/… because they “say what I think” or “they’re like me” 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I don’t want someone who’s like me, I want someone who’s much, much more intelligent, capable, courageous and compassionate than me!
@@hexistenz issue is most people who are THAT intelligent, don't want the stress and limitations of being president.
There's no need to reexamine Nixon. What he says here is nothing other than common sensical. But what there is a need to re-examine is the influence of money and special interest lobbyism in US politics. We have to find ways to strongly curtail that pernicious influence. It's at the rotten core of American governance.
@@hexistenzlike sleepy joe?
In New Zealand I had to become 40yrs old to understand President Nixon, American popular culture paints him a very specific unflattering way.
Nixon was low key underrated. By todays standards he would be a saint but its because of his pardon that we are here today
Canny and pragmatic insight.
I ❤ the word "pragmatic" .
Perfectly said.
Not only Nixon. JFK was far more conservative than even today's Republicans. Today the DNC would cancel him immediately.
If the people in charge wrote the textbooks and told us this guy was evil, and now we know the people who wrote the books are evil, maybe he wasn't so bad
starts with a J
I never knew much about Nixon (it's not like we get to learn a lot about old American presidents in Swedish school) and his time in politics, other than the Watergate scandal ofc, but watching interviews with him and reading up on what he actually achieved while in office has given me a completely different view on him.
After ALL THESE YEARS, now we are going to remember the good that Nixon did? How smart he was? And that a person's legacy is not solely based on one deed or action. Should be interesting to watch unfold!
It's too bad politicians can only speak openly and honestly after they're out of office.
He was just this open and honest while in office of the things that he could be. He really was a great President for this Country.
Amen. This was a President who loved our nation.
He lied to your people repeatedly and was a crook never defend Milhouse
Alot of people think Nixon was a dirty, corrupt person that did bad things like the current, corrupt administration ! Nixon was a good president that made a bad decision, (probably coaxed) to spy on his opponents and got caught. What he did mostly was taught the corrupt politicians how to not cheat !!!
He was literally a criminal lol
No he wasn't. Well other than Watergate.@@TTWGD3
He kept us in Vietnam for the benefit of military contractors. American lives lost for greed
We don’t have a president currently, that puts America first. 😢. Hopefully that changes in 2024.
President Nixon's words and wisdom are still valid in 2024. He really was an amazing man. I'm proud to say I was able to shake his hand many times..
I almost forgot what it was like to have a president who could do things like put together a coherent sentence
As an Egyptian, I agree and will always be grateful for our peace treaty with our neighbours
You got bought out 😂😂

@@b.r1647they think you are paid by israel to say these things
Do ever listen to something twice, then three times and you get something again and again... I forgot I have been here.
I was a kid when he resigned because of the Watergate thing. Previous to seeing some of these videos, I didn't know much about his foreign policy and so forth. He was pretty smart with all that.
Most people have no clue that Watergate was about the JFK Assassination. There were photos in the Watergate safe that incriminated certain individuals. Nixon, rightly or wrongly, felt what was done was done. The truth getting out would forever tarnish America's image around the world. E Howard Hunt was blackmailing Nixon over this.
I am now seeing similar with some of the following "great" Presidents after Richard Nixon. I once recently read that he knew something about both Russia and China, and somewhat trying to pit the two countries against each other. Does anybody remember "Deep Throat," supposedly his real name was Mr. W. Mark Felt. As well, I understand it that the song, titled: YOU'RE SO VAIN, song by Carly Simon, was about Mr. Felt.
Watergate was a CIA operation
He worked with NVietnam/China to tank the Vietnam Peace Talks behind closed doors, (using a go-between political operative/fundraiser) so Johnson would look bad before the election. China's reward for that was "Most Favored Nation" status. THAT was the most important infobit to come out of Watergate. Tell me how many more US and Vietnanmese people had to die to make Nixon's power grab happen? And, oh yeah, he hired Jack Ruby before Jack Ruby made his move on Oswald.
Nixon was a foreign policy chess player
Amazing that Nixon would end up sounding unbelievably sane and thoughtful about what America should do in the world.
People say that Nixon had no charisma (he probably wasn't interested in life outside his work), but what isn't said enough is that he was such a clear communicator on foreign affairs and policy - something that is sorely missed today, methinks.
I was taught as a kid that he was a bad guy.
Same here. We were brainwashed. He got robbed of the presidency in 1960 and did not fight it because he knew it would destroy the country. He won 49 of 50 states in 1972 and he was still fearful the Democrats were trying to steal the election from him.
He was.
He did a lot of great things for our country. Only ignorant people who haven’t looked at his run in with the swamp ie the CIA. Much of this came out in the last couple of years. I’m saying that as a Conservative and Nixon was a Moderate. He got us out of Vietnam, broke China away from the Soviets. He went after the Swamp much like Trump did. Basically calling out the CIA and the war machine that Eisenhower warned us about. And Nixon was Eisenhower’s Vice President.
Two statements could be true at the same time. He was a good guy and an absolute douche. Just like Biden, Trump, Obama, GWB, Clinton, GHWB, Reagan, Carter and Ford. And all of those before him. But that's just my silly blanket statement, with a tad of great wisdom.
In some ways he was, but he was also one of the best Presidents of my lifetime. Most of his successors have been worse.
he was solid as a rock. Hes watching the mess from heaven. im 70.
Hes looking up not down and you misspelled Hell
@@Bruva.Ork.That final destination does not depend on politics or actions.
