You know what's nice? The fact the other characters actually do something with a gift you give them instead of it just vanishing forever and being forgotten about. It's such a small thing, but damn, I appreciate it so much.
It's a first for me to see this in a game for sure.
I really do love how animated they are outside of combat. From seeing Gemma lifting weights in the gym to Kyoka popping up a duplicate of herself to give her a shoulder massage. It definitely makes the characters seem more alive than your standard game companion just standing around waiting for you to call on them.
Reviews are all over the place with this one. Some love the story and hate the combat and others the opposite.
Which means there’s a chance that you could agree with one of those opinions or hate both aspects or love them both. Really depends on the person but I think it’s at the end of the day worth checking out if you like Astral Chain and Code Vein.

@@LadyRamkinFP it is, except without any of the satisfying weight or cool gear to unlock. It's like a souls-like that missed the most important things that made dark souls good.
@@MakoHazard and it was really easy to boot. Which is a huge no no for a souls game.
@@LadyRamkinFP I was mainly referencing Code Vein b/c it’s one of the most notable anime fighting games that’s come out over recent years. I wasn’t comparing the gameplay and overall genre. Just the 2 baseline aspects of them.

I like that the customization actually changes the way the items in the character looks because a lot of games like this let you customize for actual combat but don’t let you change the way it looks
I bought it just to support an anime game where we don't have a silent protagonist. Hopefully that gets the message across
Gameplay was fun for me in the demo, thought the story was going to be a generic cliche anime plot but your review sold me to pick it up day one
I played the game on hard, and I believe it pays of... it's the first time I did so but every fight even on the demo was so much more challenging since I had to think a lot and do everything on the right time so I wouldn't waste my abilities and die. I recommend it if you wanna try it or is scared about felling that the game will get boring after some time

@@chrisraffaello3191 I don't know much about the story though, I've only played the demo/watched 1 ep of the anime. But it seens like it's all about uncovering the mystery by playing with the two characters.
The base of the universe right now seens really cliche, but who knows, if they do it right...
Because it's clearly the selling point of the game, if the story is bad, no one is going to remember it after 2 weeks or so...

@@chrisraffaello3191 been playing for a week, and all i can say is that its got a "tenet" feel to it. If you didn't like that movies story, chances are you won't like this one.
Like AoT, there's tons of twists throughout the story that completely changes what you've seen/done previously. However, unlike AoT, it's specifically limited to the characters perspective. I've only played yuitos story so far (which is recommended for your first playthrough), and it very much feels like you're just an outsider looking in. You're important to the world, integral for saving it, but the world (and most people) don't revolve around you. I assume it's the same for Kasane. It's really complicated, but i think it's a great story
If nothing else, the game at least is very visually appealing. Both graphics and aesthetics
The enviroments are boring
Story has definitely made me absolutely love games before, so while I'm not buying it right away I'm definitely excited to play the game someday!

I tried the demo, didn’t like it cause I picked the girl and the combat feel werid cause of her, cause am used to Neir Automata sword, I got the game today, I picked the boy this time, oh boy the games was hella good, I played it for the whole day non stop (I stop about 5 hour through the game) today, the game was a masterpiece I never seen anything like this, you should get it
I'm very amused by the fact that I watched 2 other reviews that stated that the combat is the reason to play and not the story and here it's the opposite. Personally, based on the demo, I would tend to agree that combat might not be the reason to play alone, but it does open up later on which was my biggest issue with the demo.
Funny enough the first episode of the anime got me hooked and now I'll buy the game
Imo the combat is so good and dont get me started on the brain field ability and the feels when your friends are like" you dont have to suffer alone"😭😭

I think most reviewers are so quick to to dismiss the narrative of a game like this because "anime story bad" is their default setting. And while I had some issues with some of the story beats and one of the characters ( Kasane through the majority of her route ) it's generally very enjoyable and has some seriously rad plot twists and the cast actually have some very meaningful and introspective conversations with each other at times ( Shout out to the giga chad Kagero )
Ive been looking forward to this game for sure and I'm happy to hear good things about it. Thanks for the review globku might pick this up friday 🤙🏾
Scarlet Nexus really reminds me of Tales of Xillia. I loved both Xillia games, I'm just starting Scarlet Nexus and actually enjoying it.

My question, to get the BEST storytelling experience, should you play with Yuito first or does it really matter??? I wanted to play with Kasane first but if the story fits better playing with Yuito first than that's fine

Rurikhan brought me here, glad he did. I enjoyed this review more than others because it covers the good and bad of every category instead of deciding which categories are good and which are bad. I'm sold on this game even if it isn't perfect
So I'm doing an odd thing for this game in my first playthrough. I'm actually playing both characters in tandem by switching between them each chapters. Which is filling the gaps that would be usually missed just playing one story. It seems tedious at first, but the amount of ground you cover as you progress is well worth it. Plus it keeps it challenging switching between playstyles so you don't get too linear.
Thank you for dropping a review before the release. Wanted to watch one before I put in my order (still want to get the preorder bonuses if the reviews are good)
Finished yuito's path on hard. The problem with the combat is you dont have enough enemy types to use different strategies with esp. on the later half when you can use all 9 powers and even up to 4 simultaneously

I didn’t start kasane story with new game plus after I beat yuito story so it’s still fun for me. I personally love this game it’s rights after code vein in my top 5 favorite games
Wow that’s crazy, the gameplay is what kept me going, you always feel powerful with the TK moves
The combat was the best part of the game for me. Don’t care for story or anything else other then actually playing. And the combat is so diverse and different. This game DOES stand out from other fighting games because of the abilities are so different and so many powers you can use. Some of the enemies were annoying but like I said the combat saves it for me. I just finished it with the guy I give this a 9/10. Btw all i play is fighting games so Ive played a lot, this one is awesome and unique
There is alot of skills and combat mix matching once both teams joined together, you can equip 8 sas at once and each companion has 1 combo vision + 1 assault vision(you can manually perform assault with specific accessory) aside from their normal sas skill, so you can do alot of varied combos and moves if you utilized all of them
Oh man, I was hoping combat would feel better in the full release, but after this video I think ill pick it up later discounted
The combat for this game on PS5 is awesome! It works so well with the haptic feedback!
I really Had no expectations storywise But right After i started it and Realized how Great the Story really is i was hooked .
Games often Lack Good Stories but this one is like the NieR franchise a exception. Love it.
I know I’m a year late on buying this but I got it literally a few mins ago because after watching this review I watch “[MAD] combo” videos and MY GOD. Im sure globku has seen those videos by now but the combat is definitely nutty towards the middle-end of the game.

But i reall like globs style when doing guides/breakdowns. even though we have got plenty of creators riding the strive content train right now, i definitely miss some very high quality stuff. not downplaying anybody but globs production quality is just top notch for me.
@@xxkonshixx8041 very true. I like Globku's character breakdowns because I find them more in depth than most other guides because I feel like Globku actually takes time and experiments rather than trying to find things out as fast as possible to put out a video first.
I always hate when the game locks most of your move set at the start of the game. Astral chain for assistance felt like the most bare bones game platinum games ever made till you reach chapter 3.
Someone on twitter definitely recommended playing Kisane's story first and then Yuito's. Will definitely be checking this out this week.
Was going to do that anyway because Kisane's look is so much more interesting to me than Yuito's.

I played yuito’s story first and then played kasane’s story. Yuito story made kasane story 5x better

I never see repetitive as a bad thing because every game on the planet is basically repetitive in some way shape or form I have not played a game which has never felt not repetitive so if that's the biggest complaint then that means this game is pretty much perfect my one friends like monster hunter is not repetitive like okay you're not just killing monsters over and over again right

@@Nero_Halcyon He is right. You just can't trust trailers. They make the game looks good, but many times games are turned out to be hot shit. Just don't give the developers and publishers until you read reviews. It is okay BTW to read negetive reviews and still buy the game- you should know what you buy if it is to your taste, and not based on (sometimes) misleading trailers.

Still till this has the most fun combat system I've seen in an anime game
this kinda reminds me of Astral Chain when that released on the switch but that gameplay was SO much fun.

This game reminds me a lot of Astral Chain and I love and still play that game. This would be a long shot but would love to have Scarlet Nexus ported to the Switch.
50 hours later, finally finished one story XD. Also, dunno if it was added on release or not, but you can actually do a 2nd playthrough at lvl 1 while carrying over stuff, just gotta say "no" when it asks to keep levels. If ya wanna go through again without curbstombing haha
But otherwise, yeah pretty much agree with this in entirety. Story is brilliant and i love the cast. And definitely once combat opened up, was pretty epic. And yeah, definitely would want more enemy types and unique mechanics with bosses, maybe. Overall tho, still a blast

If you’ve finished both campaigns which order makes more narrative sense? From your review it kind of sounds like Yuito first is the way to go?
Sorry if I missed it in the video. What difficulty were you playing at? You said the enemies didn't really challenge you, which may not be a bad thing if it's like DMC and you are styling on them.
Both normal and hard. The option can be changed anytime mid playthrough

Interesting to see a pretty much even split in reviewers opinions. Half say the story is really good, but the gameplay and combat aren't good enough.
The other half say the combat is exceptional and carries the game, but the story gets very iffy and falls apart with plot holes and bad pacing in a cool premise.
Guess I'll get it and judge it for myself. This is the first anime style game that I have been remotely interested in. This seems like it would be a solid introduction to the genre for me to play.

How does it compare to Astral Chain if you played it? Funny enough I loved the combat in the demo and the style of this is great so I'm probably really going to enjoy this game.
It's cool how polarizing this game is. One camp believes the story is easily the worst part of the game. And the other that the story makes the game. But the consensus seems to be that the combat is really good. EDIT: I just scrolled down and saw Frederico basically made the same comment. My bad.

Man. These reviews for this are super subjective and all over the place. I just watched another who said they loved the gameplay but found the story lacking.
This is an anime/comic book game with some occasional combat in between.
I thought the combat in the demo was A1. If you think it’s pretty mid what are some examples of top combat for you in this genre? I’ve been looking for top combat options.
Id say code vein had better combat since it has alot of variety and options

Ngl, I wish most games did that or just give us the option. Idc if you're game is 200 hrs or 10, just because I'm in ng+ doesn't mean I remember how to play it. It discourages people from taking advantage of all the cool extra perks they earned. Half the time I give up & just delete the game & the other half I just end up starting fresh not getting to enjoy the new content 😭.

I have a question, are you able to switch between the two storys? As in, if I play with Yuito for like 2 hours, then I decide to play Kasane's story. Will my progress be erased for Yuito? I would try myself, but I'm too afraid I might erase my progress with Yuito.
Since there are save slots, you can play both of the story's at the same time.

Interesting, other reviews say the opposite: the gameplay is the best feature while the story supposedly isn't that good.

it's a shame that I am one of those player that felt my $ was wasted.
Not only did I feel Bandai dragged the story for way too long, but also the bonding missions between teammates were horrific imo.
Combat is the only thing that I would give praise on, and it's like you said not without its downsides.
Story is an okay element for me, there were some unexpected twists, but nothing over the top.
The whole game kept on repeating itself in almost every aspect, and with the lack of CG in between I could hardly keep myself awake playing it.
I still managed to play through it once since I paid a premium for the game, I can't imagine how people would stand actually playing twice.
I wouldn't recommend people buying the game right now with the current price tag. Definitely get it when it's 50-70% off though. Cheers

Demon slayer is on ps4 if u pre-order the deluxe edition u can play October 13th but if u buy the regular edition u can play October 15th also if u get the digital version of demon slayer u get a lot of bonus stuff like avatars for ur ps4, slayer points, and also character unlock keys etc
