Nah that's kind of a casual mindset, like the kind of ppl who will buy a game only because of the series or Fandom the game takes place in, most gamers buy games based on the game genre, not the theme of the game, this game obviously caters to fans of turn based JRPGs, while I agree that fairy tail fans will be more likely to enjoy it but if you don't like turn based JRPGs then your not going to enjoy this game, I mean how many casual gamers bought minecraft dungeons because it was a minecraft game and had never played an ARPG before, obviously a fan of ARPGs will be more likely to enjoy minecraft dungeons, serious gamers buy games based on the genre and not based on the series or fandom
I’ve played it and beaten it... it’s a 7/10 for me as a huge fan of fairy tail.... Ide say if ur a fan of fairy tail.. get it when it goes on sale... but if not u can pass
Playing it on the Switch currently, and it is a solid 7/10 or 8/10. I think it is a great rpg that isn't as taxing to play as some other rpg games out there.
i actually liked the game a lot, i never saw anything about the series after i finished reading the manga and never bothered watching season 2 of the anime so it was actually pretty fun to remember the good moments the show had, but the low budget is clearly seen thorought the game sadly... but the game is actually difficult if you start it on hard and don't overlevel. i'd say if you don't have the money right now or isn't in the need for the game just wait for a sale
After watching people play it and watching your pre review impressions I'm glad I saved a full 60 on this game. It seems solid but not 60 dollars solid. I'll probs pick it up on black friday or something for like 30 bucks. And honestly I'm still disappointed they didn't get the English cast for this game. If you're as big as Koei Techmo, you should offer english VO options especially for a series and English cast that's as popular as Fairy Tail
@Neon Dawn no Vic wasn't. Every case of him being a creep has been proven lies. If Vic was being a creep more women would come forward but the only women who have had been proven to be liars.
Eh it’s a 2/10 it’s really lazy boring and Emotionless I would rather play many games other then this I had to Switch games because I was so disappointed
@@jackluffy7914 Unless the game is OBJECTIVELY bad to the point where you can barley play it you can't give it a 2/10. You can say based on your level of enjoyment it's a 2/10.
I haven't finished the game yet, because I'm taking it pretty casually during the evenings, but even as a huge fairy tail fan, I'd say... wait for as sale, anything between $20-40, I agree with the biggest problem being that for most people it was priced at $60. Despite the day 1 patch controversy and all, I cant say that I wasn't having fun. Although, building on what Globku mentioned, the game is great when you get to freely explore, but was a little annoying at the beginning when the tutorials lasted a bit too long... in the end, I would recommend the game, just not as a $60 purchase... and again, I say this as someone who made a bunch of close friends because of this series.
I think a dynasty type game would fit FT a bit better. Like think about it, The game would utilize erza’s requip magic, lucy’s celestial dress forms or even the zodiacs. Hopefully it could happen
I don't know... i mean sure it doesn't have to innovate in order for it to be a good game, but honestly it feel's like it's a C+. I mean believe me i have been following some of the gameplay and first impressions and on this game following up to its release, but i don't think it's really worthy of a D rank if you ask me.
I think it’s good to note that the specific example that he mentions of being able to kill enemies 20 lvls higher it’s only possibly true at endgame when your characters have achieved their max lvl/versions of their Magic you cannot do it with there lower magic as your characters will take too much damage and you cannot damage them
Lachlan Tonkin as someone who owns and plays the game it’s good to note that is not easy to do if even possible. You cannot even encounter any lvl 50s before beating the story unless you don’t focus on the main missions at all and you cannot beat the Story at lvl 20 it’s impossible as the game requires you to be higher
Lachlan Tonkin oh no I’m very much aware I’m not trying to be mean or anything I’m just saying ya know. As I’ve played and beaten the game easily his words don’t match what I’ve seen. Anyways tho as he’s said before he is Biased against Fairy Tail so it don’t really matter
For me FT is a 7.5/10. Pros: - A lot of content (45-55 hours of gameplay including post game content) - Light rpg (dislike very grind heavy rpgs) - Funny dialogue scenes - Grid Battle mechanic - Background Music Cons: - Performance (frame rate drops) - Lack of variety in enemies - Repetitive quests - Towns are hollow and lifeless despite the good aesthetics ( you can walk through people, a lot of character models are reused literally in many streets you can see 2-3 repeats of characters).
Regarding your take on that people who have never watched Fairy Tail won't understand what's going on since you're dumped halfway through, the game has an encyclopaedia, character bio and story recap as one of the options when you open the menu, and it even stands out by having a big glowy "NEW" next to them.
I agree, its a very competent game. Not omg amazing, but also not a bad game. I enjoy the ranking up the guild stuff and building up the facilities. The story was ... meh. It had some awesome moments but the finale was extremely dragged out, especially the final boss. I'd say wait for it to be 20 to 30 bucks.
I stopped watching Fairy Tail a little after the grand magic games and picked up this game as a kind of f it I’m bored during this social distancing bs. This game is easily one of the best anime games to come out since Ninja Storm or Xenoverse 2. While not a 10/10 id say it’s a solid 7.5
This is not close to storm the stytem is better then storm I guess but this is a aaa game and it looks worse then dragon ball fighterz which is not even a aaa game ik people have a opinions but cmon fail tail game look like shit
DuCkY FlUfF I mean I never said it was close to ninja storm I just said it was one of the best anime games since ninja storm and that’s not really saying anything since all anime games are getting stale... keep hating tho
From A-F, I definitely agree with the D score from what I've played so far! Point for point your review pretty much summarizes my thoughts to a T. To preface, I bought this game at launch both as a fan of Fairy Tail but also as a fan of Gust's Atelier RPG series. Having the two meet in the middle sounded like a phenomenal experience. Upon first starting I thought the game was a blast. The combat system is pretty enjoyable and as said you gain levels and new spells and guild upgrades and etc. at a swift enough pace to hit those dopamine rushes and just have a good time all around. The missing character models at first aren't too jarring since the game focuses more on the side quests and such which I find to be the strongest part of the game. But... now that I'm ~10 hours in and 2 days into the Grand Magic Games arc, the jenkiness of the presentation and (as said in this review) *especially* the main story quests are really really offputting and immersion breaking. I fully believe that for all of the in-engine style cut scenes they should have considered another delivery method that might have fit better within their budget constraints- perhaps taking on a visual novel style presentation or making more use of stills from the anime (which I've seen in other reviews that they do in places later on) to at least convey what's going on in an understandable manner. The more characters that get introduced and become story relevant, the more the huge amount of missing character models becomes a big detriment to the game's presentation. Introducing the teams at the Grand Magic Games and having Quatro Cerberus have no models and no anime still showing them is straight awkward... the camera just pans to an empty section of arena and makes believe that they're there. The same goes for Raven Tail despite one of their members, Flare, having a character model. Even before that, the qualifier for the tournament, the Sky Labyrinth, being reduced to a short cutscene in a generic looking hallway with 2 fights is... just hugely disappointing as someone who was looking forward to re-experiencing some of these hype moments from the series. It feels like they tried to do too much with the means that they had and ended up casting a wide but shallow net. The parts that are good are really good (the character models that *are there*, the side quests with small stories attached to them, the character bond/story moments, the battle system, at least at a conceptual level) but when placed next to the bad parts, which are *really bad* (jenky cutscenes, stingy voice acting, small and few explorable areas, small enemy variety) it ends up feeling like it doesn't quite add up to the sum of its parts. They could have probably achieved something better if they had just focused on the good parts without shoehorning in the parts they couldn't afford to execute well. Maybe tell an original story that just involves the characters that they were able to include or something, yeah? That way the cutscenes wouldn't have to be so jarring and they still have the same amount of characters and voice actors and etc. It's particularly disappointing because even though Gust has always put out AA RPGs, usually they feel (to me at least) like they're well put together and cohesive. I had no qualms paying $60 for something like Atelier Ryza, or $40 for some of their vita games, but this feels really overpriced at $60. I think on sale would be better. All said I'm still enjoying my time with the game and looking forward to playing it all the way through... but I'll be far more skeptical next time. Put too much blind faith in the devs this time lol
I'd probably get it on sale. It's $80 full price here in Canada and I'd probably only pay $20 at the most. I stopped being a fan of the series towards the end of the manga since the writing got continually worse and worse, but I gotta admit that making a full team of 5 Dragon Slayers would be super hype. The Dragon Slayers are the best part about Fairy Tail by far. Wish we saw more.
really a D? I would rather play this game than most of the generic arena fighters out there that received a higher score and ratings. it's about time we got a turn based anime jrpg.
Just because it’s a different from some other anime games doesn’t make it better, it does it’s job as a jrpg, it’s just that there are so much better jrpg games out there for the same price or less that this doesn’t really compare though this shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the game.
Opinions. I think if Globku liked FT he would gave it a C. Plus just because it's different that doesn't make it better I would say that the game is C but for FT fans B And nothing stops you from enjoying...except maybe those people who have to say in every comment section "FT sucks"
@@Dinh60 im not saying that its a great jrpg like the critically acclaimed ones like persona 5, ff7 remake and fire emblem series. Its above decent at best but to give it a rather low score is unfair especially when the reviewer himself admits that he dislikes fairy tail. It should get at least a C imo but like you said , it doesnt stop us fans to enjoy playing the game i hope that future games will be better than this one.
Nemanja Popadic more like December. This ain’t even close to a great AAA game, so the price will go down pretty fucking quickly, like any weird-ass anime games similiar, such as One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, the SAO games, and such. They’re decent games at best, really. Besides personal attachment to the anime one might have, this game isn’t that good at all.
The only thing I really hate about this game is lighting on characters. It's sooooo bad. It's like world and the characters are one two different layers.
IDKHQ 4 A while ago on their twitter page they held a poll saying the game that gets voted the most is the game they will make and Fairy tale won and HXH was such a close second😔.
Honestly Fairy Tail deserved to get the game more, since the last game was in 2012 on PSP (and a phone game crossover) while HxH got more games and I think the last one was in 2017 (correct me if I'm wrong).
StardustdragonX3 I don’t know what you are rambling about but you are right. If it was HXH that would of gotten chosen it just would of been the same exact game just with different characters
Ah dang... I'm bummed to hear that the brute force thing persists throughout the game. I'm about 5 hours in... and I'm sort of enjoying it for what it is... and I was getting excited that I was unlocking some more spells for the characters, thinking that I can finally be a bit more strategic in battles. Sometimes when the story is weak in games, I can have fun, if the battles are strategic.
It would make sense. The fairy tale characters do like to blow away hoards of foes and there could be some interesting move sets, along with plenty of vibrant destinations and the music potential is crazy, if you have heard any of the pirate warriors ost then you know what im talking about. That would be a must buy game for me. Also to be fair, they were working on pirate warriors 4 and persona 5 scramble as the same time, so if it was planned then they probably didn't want to saturate the market.
Here is my list of Turned Based JRPGs I played on PS4/Switch you may not have played (and maybe have played become a lot of these are mainstream because I dont remember names from smaller JRPGs :p): Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 10 Final Fantasy 9 Final Fantasy 8 Remasterd Persona 5 (Royal) Dragon Quest IX Chrono Trigger Octopath Traveler I would have listed a lot more if this included older consoles haha
This game looks like it needs a lot of work. The concepts are good but I think it's a little poorly executed. I'm a huge fan of Fairy Tail, and this is the only console we have access to in North America, it's a bit disappointing, this game has a lot of potential and I'm gonna wait till this goes on sale and maybe it'll get updates to make it better.
So what you saying is this game is like the Storm series. Is nice to see him compare this game to it's anime counterpart since he never watch the part of the anime. He dislike fairy tail I'm not surprised he gave it a D. He says a game doesn't have to be competitive but he always come back to that. He wants a competitive game like Dragon ball fighter. For what he said it should have been a C or B.
I was surprised to see D, from what he was saying I fought he will give it a C Every reviews are biased in some degree, I still think this was a good review, just change the score to C and I'm perfectly fine
yeah he never watch it and hated it but everything he said was right. i say this as a fan of fairy tail, this game is an absolute disappointment and i didn't even have high hopes. i would give it a 5/10 which is pretty high because i didn't play it only because it is not worth 60
@@kingslayer3647He called it a light rpg he had fun with and wants to platinum it later. Dislike the story but already said he dislike fairy tail. For what he said it sounds like a great forty dollars game. He gives it a D but off what he said it sounds like a B Rank 60$ game.
@@spAcegodzilla129 this is not a B $60 game. Idk man light rpg is a big cop out instead of just saying they were lazy. If the game can't be sold on difficultly and story then what is it? A shitty cash grab that trys to look good but fails horribly. Games like these prey on the fandom. Like $40 I would been like yeah that makes sense it's a meh game for an ok price but $60...games like persona and ff7 and cyberpunk. No not 60
@@kingslayer3647 Difficulty does not make a game. There are tons of good games that aren't hard. So shove that up to ass. The game has more in it then some other games at the same price or cost more. There are games I played that are great but not worth 60$. This review is by a guy who could care less about the series the game is based off of. He says he wants to platinum it no one does that for a shitty cash grab.
I heard the PlayStation version has 2 censored scenes and 3 removed scenes. Made worse because PlayStation doesn't tell you which scenes are censored or cut out
I wanted a fairy tale game like this to play somewhat like wakfu and be multiplayer seeing as fairy tale is all about friend ship not being able to play with your friends is odd and i think wakfus cobat fits very well into fairy tale
I’m loving the game so far but it is definitely too easy. I’m a huge fairy tail fan so this was a must buy and it’s pretty faithful to the series despite the cut corners. If the game were cheaper I would place it as a B but currently I’d say a C is about right for me.
I been playing the game almost religiously since it launched on switch. As someone who plays nothing but JRPGs, whether it be the Atelier Series, Tales, Final Fantasy, etc, this game is pretty decent. The battle system is what carries this game for me and without it, I doubt I would be able to play it as much as I do. It's a downgrade from what you would get from most JRPGs but not in a bad way, but in a way that you can play without much thought and still have fun. Personally it's a 7/10 for me. If you want a JRPG to just play and not give much thought to, I'll recommend this on sale.
They should have started the game from the Macao arc to the tenrou island arc. Then if popular enough make a second game covering the gmg arc to the Alvarez empire arc
The last FT game was covering the Tenrou arc (the game is already pretty long so there's no need to, especially because the arc they started is (as Globku said) perfect for RPG
The game is great, its not perfect but it does alot of things right and it remains pretty faithful to the overall story, I'd say it's at least an 8/10 those saying otherwise need to understand this is gusts first rpg away from the atelier series, so they deserve some slack. As for lack of characters and models, there is already additional character DLC confirmed so I imagine our party roster will grow in time, as for actual in game models they can add those in with future updates. As much as I like globku I feel like this review is unfair since he admits himself he doesn't really like fairy tail and stopped following it a while ago, but that's just my opinion. The game is definitely better than a D, The models look great, the action is amazing, the animations are great, and the story is mostly there. They definitely left the potential for another game covering the war with zeref and the 100 year quest arc
I regret buying this game full price as a fairy tail fan I highly suggest waiting for a sale I feel this game could of been a lot better than what it is
It's not awful, but I can definitely agree with the idea that the game doesn't innovate enough or do enough with its combat system. Certain characters have interesting gimmicks. Juvia has a Regeneration skill that she can use and she ends up getting an ability where she gets her attack buffed by a percentage for every character who has the regeneration, and that gets increased when she's on a team with Gray. But it requires so much setup and it requires you to double down on Water Element characters (not that it matters that much anyway because of how little type effectiveness matters) that you're better off just picking someone like Wendy, who can heal way better and can give buffs to the entire team, not just herself. And then speaking of Wendy, you'll also have characters that are just inferior versions of others. Sherria is literally just Wendy without the ability to buff people. Laxus is a worse Natsu. Juvia is a worse Gray with bad healing. Rogue is kind of a worse Gajeel. Lucy is a jack of all trades, except she sucks at everything. There are definitely certain characters that you won't ever use unless you just like them a lot. Like, there's no reason to use Sherria over Wendy. And then the fanservice isn't even done that great either. Every character has three relationship meters with every other character that you can rank up to get benefits between the two characters, and each rank will give you a little interaction between the two characters... except it only does it for some characters and skips out on character pairs that you'd think would definitely get one. Natsu and Rogue get interaction scenes, but not Gajeel and Rogue or even Sting and Rogue. The entire game feels like it was not finished before it was pushed out. It's not a bad game, though. If you like Fairy Tail, you'll probably enjoy it. Probably.
this is the very first Home console FT game released in the west and its mediocre. The other FT games were on PSP (JPN only) and a few on NDS Plus many JPN only mobile games. FT doesnt even have a global Mobile game.
you can blame Bamco for that, they own the sole rights now to damn near every anime license in gaming and they near-exclusively crank out low-budget kusoges with all of them. Remember LWA? Gintama PS4? One Punch man? Seven Sins arena fighter? Those all came out and they all SUCKED. MHA One's Justice was half good and they instantly had the devs crank out another one to capitalize on that.
@@Antiformed this fairy tail game is not published by bandai namco tho. it is developed by Gust, the same people behind the much underappreciated Atelier games and Blue Reflection and also published by Koei Tecmo. at least it is better compared to those generic anime fighters and most importantly, it isn't another anime arena fighter. has some issues sure but nothing groundbreaking. a solid turn based JRPG that is not worth the 60$ tag price. will wait for a sale.
I want to support this game because its not an arena fighter but its also priced at $60 and it definitely doesn't look like it should have the same price point as a triple A game.
I agree with your points. I am a huge ft fan myself and for the fact that its the first fairy tail game that reaches europe it was a must buy. Plus i liked gusts atlier series too. But man... its so rough to try to not pay too much attention to the problems this game has... I dont mention the big points because you got them covered already. But a few details that are pretty big in their own regards considering its a game for fans. Did you notice that every char that has a visual unique special form (like dragon force forms oder grays devil slayer) they are only visualized for the standard costumes. If like to wear another costume you can activate the special form but no special look anymore. Huge bummer for a fan imo. Another Problem is how meaningless all the battlemechanics are that are introduced to you in the story, for example natsus trademark: eating fire. You can do it... but only in one fight in the entire game! Seriously... whats even the point of implementing it? But the worst part is introduced today: the dlc aka the seamingly main reason for the delay in release because game quality obviously wasnt it... 6/10 from a sad fan heart :/ Wanted to recommend it to fans first but now i just cant bring myself to do that anymore
It always bugs me when people say hard mode isn't harder but make enemies hit harder and make them spongier, making fights longer. Then they say something like it's not harder and go back to normal. Feels kind of like excuses of not playing on hard mode. The hell else does hard mode for an rpg suppose to be?
I mean I kinda would've prefered an arena fighting type game because I'm personally not a fan of turn base (except for Pokemon) I just prefer button mashing.
@@candyqueencandyqueen2689 just no, its going to be the same boring shit over and over again... you should be open to new stuff, people like you are the reason the anime gaming scene is oversaturated with boring generic arena fighter clones no offense
I was willing to spend $60 for the game at my local Gamestop but was mislead that the physical game was there when it wasn't. Closest place to get it was over 60 miles away. Could of gotten it online but have no wifi. At any rate, Guess I won't be getting it. Look like fun. Love the anime. It rawks.
That rank is not true because I love this game and anime for this game made me relive theough the whole anime and made me feel great and the systems in this game is good and I gave this game an A even though there is no VAs in certain cutscenes due to issues with the VAs being in hospitals or something else and I love the scenes that made me laugh and if you gave a game a poor grade then it means you do not have entertainment values because fairytail gave it all of that.
Agreed. Definitely not the best game, but not the worst game. Only reason I bought this at full price was because decent turn-based jrpgs are my jam, but they're so hard to come by nowadays. This game somewhat fills the void in my life while i'm waiting for cold steel 4, but 80$ (CAD) is too much to ask for.
Hmm...yeah, after the review, I can say. Still think I do want it, but definitely don't feel I'm missing out by not getting it anytime soon, haha. Great Job on the review, man! 👍
I give this game a B ig just because 1. I don't play many rpgs and I don't like many of them like final fantasy etc. 2. I like how it looks and it's pretty simple and easy to understand 3. Characters are cool looking 4. Series is cool and 5. Cool experience for me who is getting reintroduced into rpgs
Nah, this caters more to fans of turn based JRPGs, only casuals buy games regardless of the genre, I thought minecraft was one of the dumbest games I've ever seen but I loved minecraft dungeons, not because it was a minecraft game but because I love ARPGs, I love the mainline persona games because I love turn based JRPGs, but I didn't like persona 5 strikers, not because it was a persona game but because I don't like musuo games, being a fan of a particular series or Fandom doesn't mean your going to enjoy a game set in that world, you also have to enjoy the genre of game it is, I'm not a big fan of sword art online but I love the games because I like action RPGs, I don't need to be a fan of a particular series to enjoy a game that takes place in that world, I just have to enjoy the gameplay and style of game
“I don’t like how the show constantly betrays all logic, and breaks its own rules. It simultaneously builds up enemies as all-powerful only to break them down in the next scene for no reason other than “THE GOOD GUYS MUST WIN”...” Worst clichés of Shonen Anime in a Nutshell....
It's a very good game for the switch. Very comfy game that you can just relax and play in handheld mode. Don't think it'd be a good fit for the ps4 tho.
Not a good fit for the ps4? Lmao what kind of logic is that? People can play whatever the platform they wanted and there is no such thing as a "comfy and casual" game that suits the switch more just because its a handheld.
This game feels like an Atelier game but without the alchemy and the quirky atelier writing. Hell there's literally some reused assets from Atelier Ryza and a freakin barrel easter egg right outside the guild hall.
I loved it. I'm not even a fan of the show. I saw one episode once and that was it. I like the idea of building up the guild from nothing and making them famous and legendary.
Yh I’ve been playing this as well and tbh D is fair the game doesn’t do anything to show that you’ve unlocked a new attack as the updated version of an older attack looks identical only doing slightly more damage and then there’s my ultimate gripe they took out the iconic outfits for certain characters from the arcs in the game only to sell them as dlc in game that alone costs £54.99 I thought Bandai was the scummy company but now Koei Tecmo are just as bad
My score for Fairy Tail in relation to the other anime games released this year is it’s better than One Punch Man, Kakarot and SAO but not as good as One’s Justice 2, Pirates Warriors 4 or Granblue. I still honestly find it refreshing compared to Arena Fighters and Musou games.
This would have been better if this has been a dynasty warriors formula or a arc system work fighting game, or a Xenoblade type of combat, or a god eater type of combat or a ffxv combat system where you could switch to turnbase or realtime.
I’m glad I watch this video I been thinking about playing this game but I couldn’t get pass the game play I feel fairy tale should had been a fighter game not this turn base game

Yah that what I tought it look like a fine game for 40ish $ but not more Thx for the review tho. It look like fun tho if you like progression and it seem like you can have alot of character so that seem cool too it not like Natsus doing a solo mission and that it. Like some other game does. (kof kof thos DBZ game where you only play Goku for like 90% of the game) I know the anime is like that but still that what I like about fairy tail every character got it time to be usefull... After that are all the character really as unbalence as you make it sond I will need to try it out to know for sure... But it seem unlikely tho to be fair It possible that Natsus i just op compare to everyone else and doesn't have a weakness what so ever. Tho useally character got weakness exemple may have crazy good STR but may be he got lower SPD and so doesn't get to attaque quickly things like that. And yah STR of an hit is good if you hit frist you can also be better whit that. Any way I may get it whene they make a sell for it for like 40$ or something
This game is proof once again that unless you’re Dragonball and Naruto, anime games are never given the budget they need to escape from that “arena fighter” grasp. Which is why so many anime games just default to being an arena fighter or musou game - they have no choice, those are cheap games to make and any time they try to do something different, they don’t have the budget and fall flat on their faces..
I've played the game and it's pretty much like any of these other anime games on PSN.
Not that amazing but cool to play if you're a fan of fairy tail.

If you want to read more of the manga there’s a sequel called fairy tail 100 year quest.
So far I like it I'm really shocked it's PS4 pro enhanced and it uses HDR.

M that’s what I’m talking about 😂😂😂
I haven't finished the game yet, because I'm taking it pretty casually during the evenings, but even as a huge fairy tail fan, I'd say... wait for as sale, anything between $20-40, I agree with the biggest problem being that for most people it was priced at $60.
100% agree
i still kinda want this game but definitely when it’s on sale I’ll cop
To me the game is somewhat mediocre, but the some of the cutscenes and soundtrack are freakin incredible, especially some of the unison raids
That swim suit scene I feel you Wendy and Levi
I think a dynasty type game would fit FT a bit better. Like think about it,
The game would utilize erza’s requip magic, lucy’s celestial dress forms or even the zodiacs.
I think it’s good to note that the specific example that he mentions of being able to kill enemies 20 lvls higher it’s only possibly true at endgame when your characters have achieved their max lvl/versions of their Magic you cannot do it with there lower magic as your characters will take too much damage and you cannot damage them
He mentioned in his previous video he beat a level 50 enemy while only at level 20.
@@totallynotasith4501 Globku's words, not mine. Talk to him about it.
Pros:
- A lot of content (45-55 hours of gameplay including post game content)
- Light rpg (dislike very grind heavy rpgs)
- Funny dialogue scenes
- Grid Battle mechanic
- Background Music
Cons:
- Performance (frame rate drops)
- Lack of variety in enemies
- Repetitive quests
- Towns are hollow and lifeless despite the good aesthetics ( you can walk through people, a lot of character models are reused literally in many streets you can see 2-3 repeats of characters).
Imagine giving the game early to a RUclipsr to review it only for it to get a D rank.

I say The Fairy Tail game is C Plus Minus
Yep perfect rating right there.
Bruh start your own channel

I think if Globku liked FT he would gave it a C.

Look man, I just want a Fairy Tail Dynasty Warriors game.
Thats what I was hoping for ever since this shit game got teased
Too bad, you got a FF style game with shitty graphics. Can't say I expect much from the series these days.

I’m loving the game so far but it is definitely too easy. I’m a huge fairy tail fan so this was a must buy and it’s pretty faithful to the series despite the cut corners. If the game were cheaper I would place it as a B but currently I’d say a C is about right for me.
It shouldve had a versus mode. Shaman King on the Ps2 was a tactical rpg that also offered a versus mode
6:47 Aw... I feel so sorry for blue hair Waifu. Even if this joke is overplayed in anime...
They really hammer it in here in the game times 50
Except this game isn't by Bamco. It's Koei Tecmo and developed by the same guys that made the Atelier games.

6/10 from a sad fan heart :/

I love the characters and am enjoying the fighting. Their attacks look nice. If you are fan of the series go for it!
ive only seen fairy tail up to like episode 13 cause crunchyroll took em down but i still playing the game. it reminds me of persona

@@waved1748 gotcha thank you
Minato Namikaze np
Yeah, it's a alright game. I'd say it's on the more positive end of anime licensed video games.
could you imagine if the who did the Naruto storm series did this game.
Gust needs only more money
You mean another arena fighter?
Would've preferred a FighterZ style game
For Fairy Tail specifically, I'd go towards Dynasty Warriors-like instead.
@@alyx669 You mean having nearly every character being a near copy paste of each other?
Just wait about a month or two and the game will be on sale in no time
My score for Fairy Tail in relation to the other anime games released this year is it’s better than One Punch Man, Kakarot and SAO but not as good as One’s Justice 2, Pirates Warriors 4 or Granblue. I still honestly find it refreshing compared to Arena Fighters and Musou games.
Ehh i still think Kakarot is better than SAO and OPM.
E1ite Yoshi yeah it’s definitely a more quality game then those are. I just didn’t care for it personally
Why do you think it's better then granblue?
Is it weird that I just watch this to listen to globku's voice? I don't even watch fairy tale lol
Talking shit about your favourite anime ASMR
This would have been better if this has been a dynasty warriors formula or a arc system work fighting game, or a Xenoblade type of combat, or a god eater type of combat or a ffxv combat system where you could switch to turnbase or realtime.
" Instead of strategizing the game just wants you to brute force your way through most encounters." Yup sounds like Fairy Tail lol
I’m glad I watch this video I been thinking about playing this game but I couldn’t get pass the game play I feel fairy tale should had been a fighter game not this turn base game
I have never in my life heard someone say innovative like that
Soooo should I get this or Aliciziation Lycoris (in its current patched state)
Expected this to be Warriors style game
They needed more money and needed to charge less. Would have made me a fan
I got the discord update way before the RUclips so if you want better notifications get the discord like damn I still haven't gotten the notification
The game is decent
Unfortunatelty so. Its just decent but could have been great with a few adjustments or additions.
Hero Thinker
Yup, the first step was to not be about Fairy Tail.
Just joking, FT fans. Don’t get triggered.
Unless?
@@kytsunee6324 I'm a FT fan and didnt get triggered and I also dont think the game is great but it isnt bad either but maybe its just because I try to view everything with as little bias as possible. The game is not worth it for non FT fans.
@@herothinker4846 that's an issue of many Anime games, they are not good for non fans, heck to me MHOJ wasn't worth it to anyone besides MyHero fans but the second game feels like it could bring some non fans (tho it's still better to watch the show before playing)
@@husariuspl117 100% agree especially with your OHJ2 point.
Still would have preferred an arena fighter😩
I don't think the game is bad but it's also not great of the to of my head I'd say 65% was good worth playing but not at full price
They could've taken grid mechanics from Black Clover: Phantom Knights.
