i got mine done in 2022 when i was 18. swelling sucks no matter what but im glad i got it done and would go through it again. recovery time isn’t that bad on this one
@@user_DgddRggdy did it two days ago. The operation is done during general anaesthesia, so you won’t feel any pain. Now I have my upper jaw swelled up but I don’t feel any pain during recovery (which is strange).
The side cuts are horrible, stops the maxilla from being anchored to the cheeks and expanding the cheeks as well. You will get a wider mouth with the same narrow cheeks, don't get those cuts
@@jesper9622 In most adults you still will need cuts. You can do a modified SARPE though with KLS martin RPE without LeFort 1. MSE is too weak for proper men to break the pterygomaxillary sutures.

MSE isn’t the miracle device it’s made out to be and is associated with a plethora of complications. I had a failed one myself, 36F, but lucky for it to have failed vs left with severe asymmetries, tooth tipping, etc.
@relog, a guy in Norway ("JKK") went to Germany to have MSE 4 times due to issues splitting, complications, and failure to achieve enough expansion. He eventually opted for "EASE" (Endoscopically Assisted Surgical Expansion) using a Modified MSE as a Distractor. Watch his videos, he also said he had 3 premolars out for Braces when he was 15, and that it caused him issues.
You just need vertical the horizontal are stupid they stop maxilla from widening rest of face giving you a wide mouth with narrow checks looks terrible aesthetically
Ever heard of MSE/MARPE Expansion? Palatal Expanders that use TAD screws in the palate, often assisted by "Corticopuncture", though even that may not be 100% successful in adults. Requiring Surgical Assisted (E.g DOME/SAMARPE) There's also a procedure called "EASE" ("Endoscopically Assisted Surgical Expansion") which is meant to be less invasive than Traditional SARPE, and apparently allows for some cheekbone widening?) A guy in Norway named "JKK" got it in Germany, after failing 4 times to split/get enough Expansion with MSE Alone. So he got EASE (but using a modified MSE as a Distractor, rather than a "TPD")
