I love all your videos you are so talented. Your craft videos are the only ones i watch they are so easy to follow and always successful. Please don't ever stop making them and keep up with all the fantastic ideas that you always have i enjoy them so much. I have depression and crafting is what keeps me going when i'm feeling down. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Not long ago you did a video and were talking about using what you have, and how we don't have to have all the latest gadgets and releases. It has been such a pleasure watching the videos you have been putting out. This time of year so many companies put out all these new holiday items and such. We all have tons of seasonal dies, stencils, and embossing folders already. This is a great way to use them. The aluminum foil as well. I greatly appreciate your follow through in this area. So many of us can't afford to get all these new things but we want fresh looks and these give them to us. Thank you Ann. Much appreciated.
Thank you Karla. I agree, I am sick of new craft stuff all the time. I am beginning to look around my craft room and thinking that i will NEVER use it all! Its ridiculous xx
Ow wow!! Ann, this is absolutely fantastic!! I'll be trying these out on a birthday card I'm currently making. I have to tell you Mr G loves listening to you! He answers you wirh funny quips. When you drop or are looking for something, he tells you to look on the floor or the other desk. And he'll look over my shoulder to see what's incredible or amazing. You've certainly got a fan in him (until you get me spending) 😀 😄 ❤ ****don't forget, folks, we only have 23 days left to vote for Ann in the Best of Crafts Awards***
You never fail us Ann. Each time you come up with something new and interesting. Long may you continue, your artistry knows no bounds, and I love your accent.
Wow, what an idea. And what a great result. This evening, I will grab a big roll of kitchen paper and lock me down in my studio (and do not care what others might think...) 😉
I got to thinking after watching this a few days ago...it looked very much to me like some artwork done by a lady named Mrs. Lee. I had purchased some of her supplies oh, good grief, 15 or more years ago??? I went down into my basement and brought those supplies up and started working with them...then, I looked on line and while you can get a couple of items she had, the paper portion is not available unless you can find it in a kit...so I took out some leaf dies and tried it on some of the pieces I have left. Worked beautifully! Then, I took some of my paper towels and tried to cut the leaves from the paper towels...Worked and looked very similarly. I am amazed! Now, I can continue to use her ideas to make more flowers and another one-of kind of cards I can add to my gifting/sales. Thank you for reminding me of this and how to improve my repertoire. Blessings!
I make fancy dress costumes and wedding crowns and have been looking for a way to make detailed leaves. I'm so glad I came upon this video. You've really inspired me!
Ok, this is the first time I watched this video and I'm just in awe! I would never have thought to use paper towels like this. Definitely going to try this.
Absolutely brilliant! Lightweight for posting too. I might try this idea for door wreaths. The shelves will be empty of kitchen roll, never mind toilet rolls!
Beautiful results Ann, you can also keep the paper towel you use to wipe off distress or oxide inks. Let it dry then cut out some pretty water coloured flowers using your dies
Ann: What can I say? You are an scrapbooking magician!!! I enjoy sooooooo much your videos! You explain every little bit of what you do. Thanks a lot!!!
💙 Before die cutting machines or paper towels... we were using actual fabric stiffened with glue. We cut the same pattern repeat up to 6 times or layers ! I remember getting extraordinary results using glitter ! Thank you so much for your videos. 🙋 Nana in se OK usa
I have to try this technique.. I never thought using paper towels for my projects.. it’s absolutely crazy and beautiful.. thank you for sharing this way to use dies! I can’t way to share with my friends..
Glad you liked the technique Ann...just knew you would! It becomes addictive though and I found myself going through all of my dies to try them out! Kathleen x
Avalons Attic: I really do think your name should have a big gold star next to it because your 'paper towel' (here in NY, USA/kitchen roll, UK) technique' was absolutely brilliant!!! And, just as you mentioned above, I also found myself going through all of my floral dies and setting them all up to try this technique out on them, as well!! However, I am writing to you for some advice because each time I ran the dies through (and several times) as suggested, my 'beautifully cut flowers' were all starting to 'separate' the layers underneath!! I panicked right away and thought I misses a step and quickly played back Ann's video!! But she did not mention 'gluing' them together after running them through the machine!! So what to do?? (I had all these dies out and ready to make these gorgeous flowers, and color them, but I had to stop!!) Please, if anyone has had this same issue, what should I do??? And thank you ever so kindly, Avalons*, for sending this technique off to 'Ann' as I love seeing her videos, and never get tired of replaying them when I need a refresher on a certain technique she has done!!! Again, many thanks in advance, if you can help me keep all the layers of my 'kitchen roll flowers' seamed together until I paint them!! (I know the painting and embossing would definitely help with that process afterwards, as long as they would 'stay together until then!!)
I'd you ever get a reply on your separating problem? I just found this video minutes ago cant wait to try it.I probably want to get some colored powders Did you see Marion Emberson embossing pouncing
Just watched another video I’m addicted this is the fifth video I’ve watched of yours and there great better than TV You explain brilliantly and I’ve loved everything you’ve made I know these were out months ago how come I’ve missed them ! Well i can’t be more happier now I’ve found your site I’m chuffed to bits thank you so much Ann
Thank you Ann for showing us this. It is absolutely amazing. Who would have ever thought you could create with paper towels….you are the best..Always look forward to your videos.💕
Yes Anne I’ve been making these for a few years now as I’ve always loved making ma own types of papers from ma mounds of scraps and the wet tissues when dried came on in ma head in an idea so off I went… love these too. 🥰🌟👏🏾👏🏼💐
Great technique- love the wreath card you created with so many variations of colours, golds, shines and different kinds of leaves. The poinsettia card is also very beautiful. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
I watch this a long time ago and it was so good and I haven't had the time to do it believe it or not it's been awhile and I remember how beautiful it was thank you so much for sharing it
"Everything old is new again" ... love this technique. What I discovered in my attempts was that if I saturated the die cuts with too much water, they began to separate. I placed them back into the dies and ran them through again and it seemed to press them back together. And anyone "old school" who might still have some UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) kicking around, it works great on this technique as well. Thanks Ann for the instructions and inspiration.
Thank you for another amazing craft technique to use our paper towels. They do look like fabric. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to try this. Please as a reminder don't forget to vote for this talented and creative lady.
Oh me goodness Ann these are over the top stunning! They really do look like fabric. I just love how you experiment with different mediums. Thank you for sharing these extraordinary creations and showing in detail the process.
Ann, I did toilet paper cut outs oh about four or five years ago, but I didn't know about the gliding wax and the other stuff. Now I will have to try the paper towels. Loved this video very much.
Wow!! If I hadn't seen the beginning of the video on what kind of items you were using for your project I would have thought they were Appliques and most definitely not paper towels...I am amazed...and I'm off to go try it...Thanks Ann for the tutorial...Loved it
I am all about reuseables, so didn't have any paper towels in the house and had to rectify that. I'm currently recovering from a cold, and had a great couple of hours today, cutting out leaves and flowers and painting. Thank you so much!
This is brilliant and it really does look like fabric! You could make a lovely Christmas wreath with all sorts of foliage and flowers. And it doesn’t use up your card stock either. Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Shut the front door!!! This is so cool, I love the look you got with just using kitchen towel. It really does look like fabrics or even dough like. I love how puffy the die cut gets. I absolutely can't wait to try this technique! Thanks Ann! Love both of your cards, so beautiful! Hugs, Brenda
Here we go again Ann ,the shops will be running out of kitchen roll next lol ! Must give these a go ,so beautiful and thanks for showing us another great idea .
What an amazing technique. So beautiful with water colours, embossing, gilding wax and metallics. Your wreath of leaves is outstanding.
