I didn't think of it before I watched your video, but since vellum is plastic rather than natural fibers, I wasn't all that surprised that vellum works great with alcohol inks. That is not saying I wasn't stunned by the results!!!
One tip for the gilding wax, in order to bring out the metal "shine", you need to add heat. Obviously with the vellum you can't add a ton of heat as you said but a little should completely change the way that wax looks on the vellum. This was fun!
Oooh thanks! I knew that, and forgot!! I’ve got a few random piece left, so I’m going to give a try. 😊. It’s been a while since I’ve played with Foundry wax. 🤦🏻♀️
Loved the beautiful vibrant inks! Thanks for all the ideas! I didn’t know about putting cardstock behind the vellum when embossing. Can’t wait to try that! Hope you do more vellum ideas! ❤
Love all the ways to color the vellum. The Birthday Wishes card was so pretty. I don't have any Distress ink but I do have some mica sprays. Might have to experiment.
Any dye ink will work. Watch the amount of liquid you use on vellum. It tends to curl up. Maybe splatter the mica sprays and work in with a blender?? Let me know!
Great ideas! I have some other waxes and going to try that on vellum. Did you now you can also use alcohol markers and isopropal alcohol to colour vellum?
I totally forgot about heated it, until someone else reminded me 🤦🏻♀️. So no, I did not heat in this case, but I’m sure you could. Heating vellum can be tricky though. 😊
Thank you! What type of reinkers? Oxides? If so it is not dried up. Pigment settles and I just turn the bottle a different way to encourage the pigment to move. Then shake, shake, shake.
@ThinkJesus1st I don’t know about the microwave. I’m doing some googling but I’m confused. Maybe you are talking Versafine Claire or Versafine? Versamark is only clear.
I believe Brusho is water based and a powder, correct? If so, then it won’t have the same effect; but it would be fun to try! If you make something with them on vellum, stop by my Facebook group and show us! 😊
Which technique was your favorite?
I can’t pick a favorite one. I love them all. Thank you for sharing. New subbie here. Glad I found your channel. 💕💖

Fabulous ideas! Hard to pick a favorite, but the second alcohol ink panel might just be it..! The foil adds a really nice touch. 🧑🏼🎨😀
I totally agree! I love them all, but the purple one 🩷
Neat. Enjoyed seeing these. I tend to forget how to use everything.

Wonderful as always! Thank you!!!
Thank you! 💕
So pretty! Fun techniques!! But Did you use double sided adhesive on the embossed panel??
Yes 😊
Great ideas! I have some other waxes and going to try that on vellum. Did you now you can also use alcohol markers and isopropal alcohol to colour vellum?
Yes! I do but honestly didn’t think about it for this video. Thank you!
Did you have to heat the foundry wax as you normally would? I looked them all, nice work❤
I totally forgot about heated it, until someone else reminded me 🤦🏻♀️. So no, I did not heat in this case, but I’m sure you could. Heating vellum can be tricky though. 😊
Gorgeous ! Well I pulled out my new re-inkers and they are dried up. Everything settled to the bottom, and shaking doesn’t help. Any ideas ? Thanks

@@villagecardandcrafts thanks, not oxides, just VersaMark, etc. (someone suggested the microwave for 5 seconds ) thoughts?

They do sell color vellum so if you find a color that works for your design then you won’t need to ink.
So true! 😊
I wish I had a hamster…or a wheel!
😂
Wow I love that embossed look. Well done and thankyou for such an informative video.
Thanks so much! 😊. I’m glad you liked it!
