Utley’s Corner - Chase Utley’s 14 career home runs at Citi Field vs Mets

- Over Chase Utley’s career, he has consistently owned the Mets. He has 39 career homers against New York (14 at Citi Field, 7 at Shea Stadium, and 18 at Citizens Bank Park). His 14 home runs at Citi Field went in the general vicinity of the right field corner. After hitting 3 homers in the same spot in a series in June 2009, Mets broadcaster Gary Cohen referred to it as “Utley’s Corner.” The name caught on with Phillies fans and broadcasters. With the announcement of his retirement at the end of the 2018 season, I decided to put this together as he was my favorite player growing up and still is one I try to emulate. No copyright intended at all, all rights and clips to the MLB and their respective owners. Thanks for watching :).

Matt C thank you
This guy was an absolute blessing to the franchise. Maybe the most fundamentally sound baseball player ever
Huge Phillies fan but that first series back in Citi field as a Dodger when Utley hit 2 homers while getting renlentlessly booed was one of my favorite moments
Deservedly, as he did break a shortstop’s leg.
@@carterkulm2306 That shortstop broke his own leg. Chase Utley was playing the game and made sure that double play wouldn't be turned and allowed that run to score. Ruben Tejada had no chance of turning a double play anyway as he was on the shortstop side of 2nd base. He was gonna throw across his body. Nothing dirty about that play. All of you softies need to quit crying about that slide.
@@carterkulm2306 You want some cheese with your whine?
You know you OWN an opponent when part of their home is NAMED AFTER YOU!🤣
Chase Utley's bat control made for the prettiest and fastest swing of all time. It was as if his bat was part of his body. My favorite Philly.
The Met Killer!!!!!!!!
Agree strongly 😂
Note the score in most of these home dune. Almost all were when Chase’s team was behind, tied or had a slim lead. If I remember right, only one came in a blowout. Chase Utley was big time, and as Harry called it- CHASE UTLEY, YOU ARE THE MAN!
He was clutch personified
There's just something special to me about these Met Assassins that come thru the ages. Before it was the 90's Braves lineup then came Utley
Utley's corner 😎😎
He was my favorite Phillie. My girlfriend knew nothing about sports but knew I liked Utley. Our joke was that I’d feed her rhetorical questions where the correct answer always would be “Chase Utley.”
It was called utley’s corner for a reason
Fantastic video. I was there for the granny off Edgin in July 2014. There were 2 outs and nobody on and Gee walked and HBP his way into a bases loaded situation. Edgin came in and Chase had a tremendous at bat. He fouled off a ton of pitches. Everyone in the stadium was guessing a slow breaking ball but not Chase. It was gone off the bat.
Old Citi Field dimensions are insane to look at lmao
It's like getting new carpet and some cat gets in and pisses in the corner ...
Over and over again
Utley and Chipper Jones. The 2 biggest Met killers.
Pat Burrell also. I think he hit some 42 HR's vs Mets
The perfect ball player
@Lighthouse in the Storm Great hitter, fielder, and base runner.
That short choppy swing is deadly
“Fuck (and I cannot stress this enough) them Mets” - Chase Utley 18 times a year
I was there for the Grandslam in 2014. That was the hardest I have ever screamed. Go Phil's!
Shea is where the real killing when down. GO PHILS.
Was beautiful sending his soft spoken ass packing home with his team in 2015.
Inject this into my veins
Shit, I didn't realize it was THAT bad. I might have to put Utley in over Pat Burrell as Met Killer #1
None of the dodgers homers were into Utley corner
I know, but I made this video to showcase both Utley’s corner and Utley’s Citi Field home runs in general
Shhhhhh Mets fans😂😂😂
He owns that poverty organization
