Thanks for the great video. As David mentioned, Philips ultinon seems like a game changer for cars with halogen headlights as they reportedly have the ability to maintain the same light source position and hence minimal beam distortion. I'd be interested to see how they are doing on FL2.
Another great video from you! I’m really looking forward to seeing the Philips Untinon LED in your next video! I totally understand you’re saying that putting them in the dip especially the non projector that the beam pattern will be out of focus and cause glare and even an MOT fail. Now the Philips ultinon should have exact same as the halogen in the dip and no glare!! To be honest, philips GT200 racing vision is exactly the same bulbs as the Halfords 200 and Osram night breaker 200 snd there is absolutely no difference whatsoever. I like the Philips Dimond Vision 5000k that you used to have!😊 I’m currently running LED in projector dip and also in the main beam but the MOT always worried about the beam pattern but like you said, you will get away with LEDs in projector but the MOT testers are not allowed to remove the cover and take the bulb out whatever if it’s E marked or what bulb it uses during the test.
Thanks David, I may switch to projector type headlights as my old ones with the heat damage are beyond repair. Would be good to compare LED dip beam pattern to a 200% type element bulb. Unfortunately, LEDs will fail if just fitted, doesn’t need to have a bad beam, although the beam test is the main way they check. If the tester can’t see the bulb then he isn’t allowed to go rummaging.
Projectors are the way to go and way brighter than normal reflector headlamps!😊 One of the main reason why I replaced mine with projectors and run LEDs in because I do a lot of night driving in my own time and and I want to see better at night and see where i’m going!
