    Never heard of Chevelle Recoil in my life. Instantly fell in love with it! Best looking classic american musle car, IMHO. The esthetics on this car are out of this world.

      "Recoil" is not a Chevrolet name, It is the name given to this car by the people who built it....like "Christine"

      Englishman French Not with the modern suspension. Quit stereo typing American cars. If it was dripping oil you could complain. The recoil name might be like the recoil of a gun.

      +Jon Doe (Mr White Foxy) It is great, but keep in mind there is next to nothing original on that car. Engine has been completely replaced and most of the body as well....not to mention the interior.

    • @Airpig
      @Airpig 8 лет назад +10

      +David S. Original isn't what they were going for. Basic body lines but a custom flare everywhere else. But that's the point. Just like Tim Allen's Camaro, massaged everywhere but executed to make you stare and wonder what they did. Still, a Chevelle not in the crusher can be any combo and I'm ok with it. Except for a Donk, Donk's are the blasphemy of the car culture.

      Who cares its not a resto. If their goal was to build a orginal factory car i'm sure they would of that was not the purpose of this build. They do over the top show car's with modern tech to make the car feel and drive like a modern car would today. Which in my opinion is much safer for someone who wants to drive the car a lot verses a weekend car.

      The 66 was a beauty right off the drawing board - they did this one justice, even though I'm not a fan of digital gauge clusters. I still like analog tach and speedo as stand alone units - digitize everything else.

    The best in the business, more than builders, they are automotive engineers and craftsmen and very humble guys. They are always available to talk to car nuts and fans and are just plain cool. There cars always draw a crowd and I have been fortunate enough to have interviewed Mike at several shows including the Grand National Roadster Show. I got a chance to do an in depth overview of Recoil on video. Can't wait for their next build!

    This is a mean piece of work. From the craftsmanship of the motor to the highly defined custom parts, it is art, inside and out. I also enjoy the fact that the body paint and accessories are not overcompensating for it's powerful features. The car is not screaming "pay attention to me", but once one cares to look, they can become mesmerized by every detail on this amazing project.
    Great car to feature on this episode *****. Congratulations to the team. Nice to hear that they got the recognition that is deserved. It's really saying a lot when the only qualm Jay had on his test drive, was it having a weak braking system to compensate it's performance.

    I'm not really a muscle car guy, but how can someone not love great design and engineering? This thing is art. It just simply is. Sure, their Pantera wasn't a great driver's car, but I'm sure they dialed that in a bit with time (and the owner had a big influence on the horrid color scheme - thankfully the color on this Chevelle is beautiful). Looking forward to seeing their next build, for sure.

      You should be able to shut a few cylinders down as you're going down the freeway for better gas mileage
      And why don't we have expanding tires yet?
      Tire should start out at 12 or 13 in and then grow to 20 plus in for increase gas mileage

      They already make engines where you can shut multiple cylinders down as you're driving down the freeway to increase gas mileage......
      But nobody has invented expanding tires yet....
      Tires should expand the faster they are driven to give you better gas mileage
      IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU?

    Awesome video Mr. Leno what a machine. So here is a little story from just this last weekend that car guys and gals might enjoy. My girlfriend and I were stopping for gas in Burbank Ca. right off of the freeway, and when we pulled in I noticed a really nice old Fire Engine parked in front of us. While walking out of the gas station I noticed that the person filling the Fire Engine with gas parked in front of us was actually Mr. Leno. Let me tell you this guy is a class act. I introduced myself and let him know how much I love this show and politely he shook my hand and let me know about this episode and this amazing car. Thanks Mr. Leno it was a pleasure to meet you sir. Talk about making a car guys day....

    Ha ha! I hadn't seen Jay Leno have this much fun in a car in a long time! Tells you how great this car is. This is an outstanding car, and thus, the Ringbrothers have gone up several notches in my book. If I could, I would build a Ringbrothers carbon fiber 1968 Mustang fastback, with a 427 cobra engine, on a 5 speed manual transmission. One day...

    Hey GM, listen up: Bring back this style Chevelle, we're ready! Dodge brought back their Challenger - huge success. Ford has been riding their Mustang forever - huge success. Bring this back! (w/optional big block, of course)

    • @houseofno
      @houseofno 7 лет назад +1

      Not possible. US lighting, emissions, and crash safety laws would make producing this as a street legal production car impossible today. On the other hand, nothing prevents you from going out and BUYING a 1966 and modifying it to taste. Not everyone (and certainly not in production numbers needed to make this profitable as a production car) wants a car that's 50 years out of step with safety laws.

    • @nicetna2010
      @nicetna2010 7 лет назад +8

      Not possible? Wrong. Read my post again. Every point you tried to make has already been addressed successfully with the re-introduction of the Challenger. Also, like I mentioned, the Mustang is still going strong over a half-century after it's original introduction. So, yes, it is indeed possible to successfully re-introduce a discontinued model with today's safety requirements.
