Yeah that's a nickname! It's called Maid of the mist or the states has one called the horn blower! All that happens is it goes close enough that it seems your under the falls but at a safe distance and then it floats for about 5 mins and turns around
It gets really close and turns around.
You can see pictures of it dry- they stopped the water in 1968 or 69. Plenty of pictures, what surprised me was the amount of rock stacked up directly under the falls, the boats can only get so close. Im amazed anyone lives going over those rocks.
