How amazing !! I grew up there and always thought this would be a great idea !!
Niagara is neither the tallest nor the widest in the world. Victoria Falls is twice as high and 3 times as wide, for example, But it never freezes. This climb was a genuine achievement, and made for a fascinating video. Kudos to all involved.. Incidentally, it will be interesting to see how much the "views" number increases after being featured (Feb. 26, 2015) on Bing.

When there's no ice, it's only about 52 m from the water lever to the brink of the falls. Not super tall.

It depends what parameters are being used to describe "biggest". He's referring to the flow rate.
