Spent a few days flying around Niagara falls with my DJI Phantom 2 and the GoPro Hero 3+ Black 60fps

Without a doubt the best production ever done with a drone. I live 20 minutes from Niagara Falls and have seen them many times from many observation points. This video had so many views of the Falls that I never thought I'd get to see!! Even with their helicopter rides, one couldn't do things like skim mere feet above the point where the water goes over the Falls. And don't get me going on the "looking straight down over the edge of the Falls" stuff.....gave me vertigo, it did!! Blew me away.
I think it was about 1995 that I paid $50 to take a helicopter ride above the falls and it was worth every penny. I remember it vividly. I was struck with a moment of deja vu at 00:35, as my view in the helicopter was about the same. What a great vid; thanks for putting it up!
Very cool. I too was given a small plane ride over the falls and it was a grand memory as well. I agree, this video recalls those mesmerizing moments. Love the closeups too that only a drone can provide. :)
$50 wow its $120 per person now.
From that angle it makes the falls look like the worlds largest sink hole.:) Stunning photography.

Crappy regulations? Regulations are a good thing, because it's better than an outright ban. A phantom can literall take a helicopter out of the sky

@@mlutge1 No it can't. Its made of cheap plastic. I wish somebody would pay to remote test this, fly a drone into a helicopter 100 times, I would be absolutely shocked if it came down once.
The sheer enormity of these falls, the weight and the flow of this massive, continuous movement of water, is an utterly breathtaking, and awesomely grand experience in person!
This is the closest I've ever seen to matching the thrill of this spectacle in 2-D! Well done.

Of all the drone footage that I've seen, this one captured some of thee best angles. That view at 2:14 so close to the edge is amazing.

I'm from New York City. But, this is the first time I see this angle of the Falls. I didn't realize that the Falls area is semi round. The angles I always saw looked like a straight line across to the other side. This is interesting to see. Good job on the video.

Thank you for the video -- that was amazing! I've been on a "maid of the mist" down by it, and I've had the opportunity to go behind the falls (and didn't) but who gets a chance to see above it -- not many! Horseshoe Falls is very beautiful from above. (The choice of music is bad but one can easily mute that, and we did.)

They are so big I'd probably get bored in ten minutes. I like watching waterfalls on a small enough scale that I can grasp what's happening. Maybe a boat ride at the base would be cool - at least the scenery changes there.

Back in the 80's I went to Niagara Falls with my wife and kids, they took that Maid of the Mist ride and I stayed behind. I was walking around and it was fairly crowded and in that crowd I saw this guy standing there staring at me from about 70 feet away. I could have been looking in a mirror, that is how much we looked alike. We both stared for 10-15 seconds and I walked away freaked out. Now I wish I would have gone over to him, I mean if we were mirror images did we have anything else in common?

The drone cameras don't record audio, but silence would sound better than this god-awful music.

Unfortunately Toronto is turning into an awful place to visit. Nothing but condos going up everywhere. So many great neighbourhoods are gone because of it. You can't drive anywhere in the city without detours due to, you guessed it, condo construction. I used to live there and took my family there every year for visits. We haven't gone for the last 2 years and likely won't. The city has changed and not in a good way at all.
The view is better because you are looking at the U.S.A.! ;-)
