you should never feel insulted when a child comments on your physical appearance. i remember my friend's three-year-old once asking me, "laura, why are you so fat?" before his mom could chastise him, i just told him, "well, honey, it's because i eat too much, and don't exercise enough." and he just said, "oh," and calmly went back to eating his mac n cheese. he wasn't meaning to insult me, he was asking for information out of curiosity. that's a good thing.

I remember going to DC years ago and taking a picture (or more precisely having my picture taken) standing next to a “NO PARKING OR STANDING” sign. Actually asked a cop what the difference is and he said if you’re idling, you’re “standing” and if the engine is off, you’re parked. So technically what those guys were doing wasn’t banned by the sign. It was however banned by the double yellow line. And the CURB! 😉

It’s the driver, which means that not only does the idiot have a video proving he was parking illegally, it also shows that he’s using a mobile device while the engine is running (he says that he’s on the foot brake in the video which would be weird if the engine was off) which is a felony 😭

I realized my perspective was off after posting. Aside from being accustomed to the drivers side being opposite, I guess I couldn’t wrap my mind around someone being so stupid as to sit behind the wheel, operating a mobile device, while claiming he was about to drive. lol
@@lukabeckett2536 Why would it be weird to have your foot on the brake with the engine off? Sometimes if I’m just waiting for a short amount of time I have my car off and just use the foot brake instead of the hand brake, or park brake I think you call it 🤷♀️
@@lukabeckett2536 Here in the Netherlands it's not illegal to use a phone if the engine is running. Just when driving. So even if you're stopped at a traffic light, you can use it. This is just a little random tidbit of trivia for you. I also always thought you couldn't with the engine running, but I recently found out you can. As long as the car is not moving basically.
@@chevaryan2082 most cars in the UK are manual transmission, so having your foot on the brake means you probably have your other foot on the clutch and the car would be in gear. It’s extremely unlikely that someone would put the car into neutral on the footbrake in a manual vehicle and even more unlikely that they’d turn the engine off.

As a pedestrian, I love parking enforcement actually holding drivers accountable to their entitled behavior. Drivers always be saying things like, "But there isn't anybody walking by," but when there is someone, they sure don't move or seem to care that they are in our way. It's tiring to be walking and having cars stopped in our crosswalks, pulled up on our sidewalks, blocking intersections where pedestrians cross, parked/waiting/stationary in bike lines, etc. Like, dam, ya'll have so much road to yourselves already and you wanna take away what little we have! Good on that enforcer and shame on those drivers for trying to downplay their entitled behavior.
The lady who tries on clothes has the best laugh ever. I could be in the worst mood and her laugh brightens my day!!!!

Lovin' that parking officer. He's quick witted and hilarious. Here's the thing...those guys in the vehicle had to of seen the parking officer near them prior to the ticket going on the windshield. They made the choice to continue sitting/park there and ignore the man doing his job. They wanted to argue with him, they just didn't realize officer understood the assignment better than they did lol
It has nothing to do with that.. Standing still (remain inside) and parking (leave) are two separate things. They could have turned on their hazard lights to make it extra clear that they are standing there temporarily.
It may be a sketch, a rehearsed thing. People are saying that in the comments.
@@RacingPepe even with the hazard light, if the engine is not running you are considered as parked. If the engine is running, you are waiting. Like, sure I don't know how long they were to wait for, and it might have been a waste of gas but it would have made it clearer they were waiting. Not parked.
And (sketch aside) in England the sign they were contravening is a no stopping one. Stopping, not parking. So they would have been right to be fined.

The parking officer is great and his attitude about it is awesome. I deal with this all the time as a security officer. All of them say “but I’m not parked.” Or say something to me how I take my job too seriously.

So true, kids are filter-free for the most part. My sister and I with her two girls went to visit a great-aunt who lived a couple of states away (U.S.). The youngest girl was eight and when she walked into the elder relative's house, she proclaimed, "Wow, your house is messy." Without missing a bit, her mother said, "Not compared to your room at home."
Back around 1975, my little nephew was about six. He met my Uncle Richard for the first time who was well over 300 lbs. My nephew exclaimed, "You're a FAT MAN! You're fatter than SANTA!" Uncle Richard was a funny guy, he answered with the most booming "HO, HO, HO!" ever heard... earthquakes may have been reported in the immediate vicinity. My nephew ran away terrified, but hopefully learned some manners. He got to know Uncle Richard and loved him like the rest of us for his sense of humor and kind nature.

I'm proud of that traffic enforcement cop, honestly. Drivers have gotten so entitled and dangerous. So many pedestrians and bicyclists are dying every year because people don't respect traffic laws. They need to be held accountable.

@@lilyhallauthor There was a horrifying math moment where I thought you meant the daughter had done the cake and I’m thinking “that’s from five or ten years ago!” (I can’t remember, I’m old) and felt so confused that possibly a child had made something so beautiful and weird at just seven years old but then I realized I only got five hours of sleep and it’s six am on a Saturday so maybe I should go back to sleep.
