there's a guy who starts to allow scammers remote access to his computer, (virtual machine really), and before they have access he gets access to their computers and copies and deletes their files and sometimes infects multiple systems in their call center. great karma.

My uncle was fluent in Japanese and Russian. Before the days of caller ID he would speak to them in one of the languages. One time the caller knew that language so he switched to the other. 😂😂😂 I loved that man. May he RIP
I went over to my parents house one day and my mom was sitting on the couch with a big smile on her face. I asked what was up, she said she found a great way of dealing with scam callers. She just says. " I'm so glad you called, I want to tell you about Jesus." She said it works every time.

My mom's friend did a similar thing when she got a scam call about insurance. "I don't need insurance, Jesus protects me. Would you like to hear about Him?"

Fun to go the dark route too and invoke the demon (insert random demon like name here) on them ...start babbling about spells and curses , how crystals can effect their day to day. etc.
I always say "(insert city) police department how may I direct your call?" They hang up real quick. Or I say "the deed is done leave the money where we discussed." The silence after that as they register what they just heard is priceless.

@@ladyredl3210 I asked one guy if his mother knew what he did for a living, and would she be proud of him. He spent some time saying....things...to me, and finally hung up. I guess the answer was 'no'.
I watched one of these scam the scammer videos once and the guy engaged with the scammer but got him to reveal that many of them are forced to do this. It was pretty sad actually. Whenever the supervisor would come close to him, he’s return to his scamming script, but once he moved away from ear shot, the scammer told the guy that he’s poor and had his family threatened and that he’s been abused by the people in the company. It’s crazy cuz you don’t know what to believe, but it came across pretty sad.

The guy scamming the scammer is amazing. He has an amazing person. He was able to get back 35 thousand dollars for a poor lady being scammed.

A friend of mine got one of the “warranty” calls. She started fake crying and telling them that the person that they called for (herself) was dead and why did they have to call when the person (herself) had died 2 weeks prior. She had them apologizing. Comedy gold!
I was thinking of trying that when I get the call from a supposed daughter who got in an accident. Both my SIL & I received that scam call, except I have no kids so figured next time I hear "mama I got in an accident" I'm going to find a way either tell them the same how could you do it she died a few weeks ago or pretend I'm talking to her and say... baby, is it you? I knew you'd find a way to send me a message from beyond the grave, I just didn't think they had phones there.

For years I was frustrated at these scampers, until I started playing them at their own game, and tried to keep the call going for as long as possible. It wasn't too long before there were no more calls. Best fun ever!!!

“Let me give you my husband, he’s a computer forensic expert at the FBI so he knows more about this than I do” That is what my wife always tells scam callers now, they hang up so fast, one even shrieked!
Wish I had the patience to hold my composure so I could mess with them for a while, I can’t hide laughing without choking myself.
I kept a scammer on the line for a long time, acting confused and giving false info. Then I told him I had been lying the him the whole time. He was not happy, especially when I started laughing at him. My friend got a call on work phone (long term care facility) something about doing all her bedrooms, she strung them along for a while till the number of bedrooms was mentioned and she answered 68. My boyfriend got a call from someone wanting to repair his roof (he lived in apt.) He kept them on the phone asking really complicated questions then finally asked, "How you gonna fix my roof when I don't even have one. Another friend did one about the person being dead and pretend to scream and cry and had them apologizing for calling.

I used to get at least two scam calls a day for the past five years, which have finally only just stopped. I could usually keep them on the line for at leat twenty minutes before they realised that I was4 having them on. My record was one hour and eight minutes, 'though. I used to like the days when instead of just asking for gift cards they used to ask for my bank account details. It was always fun to read them out slowly, keep making 'mistakes' and then give them false numbers. I quite often got to give them fake bank account numbers three times before they twigged that I was screwing with them. Since it was often the same people who didn't seem to recognise my voice, my girlfriend thinks that they knew that I wasn't a mug and that they were just using me as a training exercise to train new scammers in how to deal with awkward customers.
I have messed with them before 😂.
Another good one is when they call my 81 year old mother that worked for Civil Service for over 35 years. She literally had one crying because they thought they had contacted Navel Intelligence. It was hilarious. 😂

My husband always puts on his best radio voice and says "Hello ! You are on the air !.." they always hang up fast.

If a scammer calls and I'm alone I don't answer it but if a scammer calls and I'm with my son I let him answer it and enjoy myself with the insanity that ensues.
I do the same thing! My toddler loves to talk on the phone. They also seem to feel bad about hanging up on him so it lasts longer than you'd think lmao

I have a young sounding voice, like "mistaken for my 8 year old sister when I was 16" kind of voice. I answered the home phone whenever it was an unknown number and if it was a scammer, acted like a young child whose parents weren't home. My fave was when the scammer asked how long until my mom would be home, and I asked what time it was, so I could tell her. She told me to never mind and hung up.

I have been blessed with the voice that sounds like a kid. When making calls for work, it’s sometimes awkward… when answering scam calls and telling them enthusiastically about how I like pickles or ketchup on EVERYTHING, and that I just had Mac and cheese for lunch, it’s fun. Then, because I’m a polite child, I ask them if they like pickles or ketchup on everything and what their favorite lunch is…🤣
When they ask for mom and dad, my favorite answer is “they said they are SLEEPING!!! Shhhhh!”

The guy with the shades who changed his voice to an old lady is Kitboga. That's literally all he does: mess with scammers...for hours! And it's hilarious.

My husband had a scammer convinced in 2020 that US was changing its CCD info to include letters to fend off scammers. He writes code so he has a mastery of language and code in the field to make anything almost believable. Took them 20 minutes before they realized he was fracking with them. lol
Scam baiters like Kitboga, glasses and changing his voice and Pierogi at Scammer Payback - are awesome! Both of them have gone out of their was to educate on different types of scams and phoned people to advise their being scammed. If you watch some of the videos where they work with Mark Rober - glitter bomb guy - legend!

Scammer Payback is great. He actually hacks into the scammer's system and erases the database and deletes their accounts.

A scammer called me to tell me I won a $350 Wal-Mart gift card.
My sister was with me, listening.
I asked, "What's the catch?"
He said there was no catch.
But, it was $3.50 to send the gift card and he needed my bank card number.
I said, "That's the catch. And I don't feel comfortable giving out my card number over the phone."
He eventually got angry because I wouldn't budge.
He started screaming. I hung up on him. Not 10 seconds later, he called back, screaming.
"Don't you EVER hang up on me. Now give me your f'ing card number!"
I said NO and hung up on him again.
He didn't call back.
One scammer threatened me with jail if I didn't load a gift card with $1,000 and then give her the card number.
I asked her if I had time to eat lunch, take a dump and shower before the cops arrived.
She was stunned and mumbled yes. 😂😂🤣🤣

I used to get a lot of scam calls a few years ago so I purchased one of those hand-held boat horns from Amazon. Every time that one of them called me I would step out onto the front porch and give them a good blast into my phone. Typically I would hear a lot of screaming and cussing after that and then they would hang up. I don't know why they don't call me any more. 😇
Marine air horn. I've used up a couple of them myself.
I took a scam call once and happened to be a 'little high. Rather than just hanging up I played along and actually started to tell them that they were doing it wrong and how they should do it for maximum effect. After piqueing their interest I told them I had to go (high was wearing off) and suggested they call me back at later time. These idiots called for over a week 2 - 3 tines a day wanting me to teach them more. After initially thinking about what I would do with my cut of their proceeds I never did help them.. but wasted their time and crushed dreams
My 74 year old father was scammed on the phone by the person saying it was his grandson that was in an accident and needed money. My Dad asked him why he sounded funny and the person said it was due to the accident and a broken jaw. My Dad initially fell for this because he was just SO CONCERNED for his grandson and it was a shock to get a call that he was hurt. Eventually my father started asking why he was not calling his Dad? Why he was driving at all when the legal age limit was 18 and he was 15. And sounding funny due to a broken jaw did not negate a Scottish accent or why he would call the UNited States in a car crash … I’m just so mad that these people pray on the heartstrings of grandparents that may not live near their family and are just worried!! 🤬🤬🤬
My MIL got one from her "grandson" who had been in a car accident in the Dominican Republic (like what??) when she said it didn't sound like him he said he broke his nose in the accident. She kept them going for a long time, kept asking to speak to someone in authority, so a police chief called her back, but that wasn't good enough, so she got a military colonel before she just quit talking to them.
Its super sad we warnd my grandpa several times but he ended up inviting those peoole over.. they pulled up next to him in a car made him get in and dorve him home. They were inside his home .. after they asked for money he realized he was tricked and told them to leave the house or he would call police.. they luckely left. But the sad thing is he really thought they were lost relatives from war..

@@NikkiC777 yes the most heartbreaking thing was my grandpa was in a consetration camp with 11 years in jugoslawia.. the were scammers from that area and also spoke the language .. he had several nightmares because of it.. i really hate them for it

Never hang up on a scammer, it costs THEM money when they end a call, that's why they curse people out once they realize they've been had... trying to get YOU to hang up. Waste their time and $$
Plus anytime they spend on us who know what they are up to, is less time they have to scam someone who is too trusting.
I’ll sit and mess with them hardcore. I had one sit and tell my friend and I his whole background and why he does it. Then he wanted us to d*e, and bring us over to the Amazon, to be his wife to for us to d*e. It got scary at the end. But was funny at first.
NOPE. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Scammers use VOIP systems, which cost at most a few bucks (UNDER $10) per month for almost ANY calls. They curse you out BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY'VE BEEN CAUGHT AND WON'T MAKE A DIME from you. They are heavily commission-based, so they get NOTHING for the time they invest in you unless you fall for the scam. You can waste your time all you want, but all it does is waste the time of TWO people - you and the scammer.

There's a couple of classic ones where scammers have unknowingly called a police officer and threatened to have them arrested for some mythical non-payments.

Like everyone else, LE officers receive scam calls all the time. It's especially funny when the caller is from a foreign country and has very poor knowledge of the target's legal system and terminology. Unfortunately, some regular citizens who are victimized also do not have enough knowledge of their own legal system to realize that the scammers are full of s#!t.

My grandma hates that I'm a grown woman with my own opinions, so one time I said how disgusted I was with scammers and she said, "They're just doing their jobs." Up until I expressed my opinion, she was talking about how terrible it is and how many of her friends have been victims. She literally changed her mind just because I agreed with her.

This happens all the time. Had one call me and try to be my brother. The person tried to pretend he was my brother who got sent to jail and was calling me from jail (like my brother would call me first if he got arrested lmao) I just said, "If what you did wasn't good enough to get put on CNN I don't care. Do better."

One called and tried to be my 98 yr old Grandmother who was housebound and pretty immobile at the time...the idiot scammer tried to tell me it was my Grandma who had just been in a car accident while DRIVING! I tried a couple of times to tell this person why she wasn't my G'ma but I was laughing too hard and hung up
I've often regretted not playing it out longer and pissing the scammer off!
I had a scam call once that claimed to be my son calling from some repo company asking if I would pay that company using my credit card to have his car fees paid so he could get his car back. 😒 I don't have a son. In fact, I have no children at all as I am not able to have kids. I also, have no credit cards to my name because I had to file for bankruptcy. Those stupid motherf***ers called the wrong broke a$$ bi**h. 🤣🤣

You know they practice in front of each other, boosting themselves up “you sound like Matt Damon!” Or “you sound just like Chandler from that show Friends!” Meanwhile, they sound like Pakistani’s faking an American accent.
I once had a scammer with an accent claim to be my nephew (He thought he was talking to my late mother and wanted to convince her he was her grandson). His cover story was, “I broke my nose!” A broken nose isn’t going to give someone an accent! 👃🗣

Inspired me to set up a fake identity for my next scam call. (Gonna look for a software tester one that checks out when entered into systems, but is certified not to accidentally belong to a real person.)
Whenever my boyfriend gets scam calls he always answers the phone and says “thank you for calling Carlos’s abortion clinic. No fetus can beat us. You make ‘em, we yank ‘em. How can I help you today.” 😬 they usually hang up immediately 😂

I started answering "Hello caller, your live on the air. So what's your opinion on (whatever subject you make up).". There's usually a moment of silence then a quick hang up. 😂😂

I use scam calls as therapy I can scream as hard as possible saying every horrible thing I want until they hang up, sometimes I'll just breathe deeply until they hang up, sometimes I'll do different voices and waste their time, longest was for 3hrs straight pretending to be an old woman. They haven't called me at all for months now, so take advantage of the moment and have fun!
Those silent calls, when they ring used to pee me off,. So now I either sing some daft made up words to Hello from the other side, I'm sorry you cant see me now, but it's great here in heaven I can see you and touch you. Hello from the other side are you still there!!! Or I will leave the handset by the TV and let them talk to the news.

Love this, I lay the phone down,on the counter, with speaker on, run water and bang pots and pans around, while singing the Lords prayer, one scammer asked if I was listening/what I was doing, I told him of course I was listening but I told him I practicing, and had to get my house work down before leaving for choir practice.
Watching this so satisfying after being scammed. Lady at Walmart (of course) asked me to buy my items if I’d buy her pampers since you can’t with food stamps. I agreed and as soon as she paid she switched up and said she wanted cash. SMH I hate the dishonesty but still wishing her well. I’ll never get that cash or ATM fee back but I think of it as a 9$ lesson to let people figure their own stuff out! 🗣

MY DAD LOVES DOING THIS!!! He has successfully convinced 3 scammers he was a hit man and he was going to go Liam Nesson on them to get paid, 5 that he was a detective investigating them for the murders of the “owners of the phone” and likes to give my brother (he’s 12 and has severe autism).

I had a call from virgin media the other day, trying to tell me that they were trying to fix an issue with my Internet.. I listened calmly and then responded 'Sir, you have called a government office, this is probably the worst group of people to try and scam' he hung up on me, so rude! It's 3:07am in the Uk right now and I just burst out laughing my @ss off within seconds of the video "They want some 😺.. Well give em' that dirty ole thang"... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I actually had a scammer make the bad mistake of two things. One, calling me on my day off and two, they called me on their actual number and I was able to call them back. So I did like ten times. The guy was begging me to stop calling him then the final time I called got his gf or wife or whatever she was to answer and was trying to say she didn’t call me but I could hear him in the background and I told them i would stop calling them if they never ever called my number again.

Can you post his number, I have some open source programs up my sleeve that could really make his day go from scam to nightmare 🤣
The sad part is 1000s of elderly people got scammed for thousands of dollars
I want to see some public service announcements on tv; old people watch tv; instead, I see state governments posting scam warnings on their websites; my grandma doesn't use a computer. She watches a boat load of tv.
My 86 y/o father was talking to my "nephew" asking for money. I grabbed the phone and it was some @$$ with an accent who called me "GRANDMA". My mom has been dead for awhile. Next, time I will turn the table.

That was not my point. My nephew doesn't have an accent and I can easily tell that is NOT him with one. He couldn't fool me with his. He was him alone. It is not a blanket or racist statement. I can figure out what my nephew sounds like.
@@danikeebler1662 aha. I got you . These guys do have voice modulation software too. One guy almost scammed 70k from my dad in India telling him i met an accident in Cali . He almost gave up his creds because i wouldn't pick up my phone. I mean it was 3 am but my sis did n thank God. How can they lie to an elderly guy like that ,he almost had an attack. I can't believe it.
I received a call yesterday and it sounds like the same guy and it was from the DEA tell me someone was using my name to deal drugs. I asked why he and his assistant both have Indian accents and he got mad and threatened to charge me with hate crimes. this went on for thirty minutes and i finally hung up.

I lived with a friend years ago. She kept getting calls for money. After listening to her repeatedly saying she couldn't afford anything at this time, I went up to her and grabbed the phone. Loudly I asked her who gave her permission to use the phone. I asked her if she wanted to be locked in the closet again. I know they heard me. No one followed up with the law. That's scary in itself.

A scammer tried to convince me that I'd won a grant...which isn't the way grants work, ofc. So, I wasted a good 30 min of their time asking which of my grant applications was accepted, and just got wilder and wilder with each supposed application I'd submitted until they hung up on me.
When a scammer calls answer then say " Oh WOW! I'm glad you called, the job is done but there is blood everywhere. What do I do now?" I would almost bet they will immediately hang up and never call again
I ring scammers back and make out that they rang an Australian Federal Police agent. I play along then tell them where I apparently work and suddenly said phone numbers are disconnected. Being blocked by scammers is a fun game to play now days. Got me through lockdown lol

Careful of that one. It could be construed as impersonating police officer. A collegue was called at work on his work phone. He gathered a few nearby colleagues to listen in and strung them along. He wanted up that they had called a police station and an officer was tracing the call as that moment. He swear the scammer disconnected at the speed of sound.

@Andrea They might try and use it to get a reduced penalty. Most of these scams are from outside the victim's country for obvious reasons.

I used to love getting the Microsoft support calls. I worked in IT for a long time and I would try to keep these guys on the phone for as long as I could. The goal was to keep them on the phone to make them frustrated and to get them to curse at me and then hang up.
I told a scammer he was shaming his ancestors and if his mother knew what he where doing? "youre shaming your mother, if she knew shewould be so ashamed".he hung up

I was messing with a scammer and kinda got his heart to grow 3 sizes that day. Gave him a really sob story about trying to escape my abusive husband with my kids and needing money (which was true. My ex was abusive to me and I was trying to leave but I just played it up to see how he would react.) I was crying to him saying I was so scared about getting scammed. He was originally wanting my bank info but I talked him into sending $400 to my paypal to prove he wasn't a scammer. He sent it but didn't ask me again for my bank info after that. And then like a week later he sent me another $20 out of the blue with a note that said "get the kids pizza for dinner on me"
I occasionally amuse myself by answering the scam calls with things like "Road kill Cafe. You kill it, we grill it."

Can confirm, hubby is a dad and I'm always trying to help him come up with shit to say to mess with scammers. My favorite thing he does is tell them their mother must be so disappointed in them, that they must be the biggest disappointment in their whole family and that they should be ashamed of themselves.
The last time the scammer got angry at him and told him he could keep calling and make his life hell. Hubs said "Oooh! Wanna see a neat trick?" Then he unplugged the home phone for an hour or so, until he was fairly certain the scammer got bored. Later that day, I answered to a scammer while huns was out. I told the scammer that I didn't _have_ a computer because I didn't feel like explaining that I had a laptop and that he can't see my computer if it is off. Anyway, he was trying to tell me there was something wrong with windows, I kept replying with: "I don't _have_ a computer." He said "then how can I see the problem" to which I responded "how am I supposed know?!" Then he hung up on me XD
I got a call saying my computer had been hacked. I told the scummer that I didn't own a computer (true at the time) and called him a liar. He got all janky with me. Guess I touched a sore spot. LOL
@@mala3isity oh we've totally done that despite having 3 at the time. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was out and got a call. I am super socially awkward on the phone, and was caught very off guard so couldn't think of anything to say. The scammer said "your phone has been hacked" and I just said "uh... um... I don't believe you." She just hung up haha.

@@mala3isity At different times I have been paranoid about data leaking to the Internet from my super secure secret computer, had an 8000-node Beowulf cluster that had been compromised, not had a computer, and been a business owner dealing with a client whose contract had lapsed while he (the scammer) was in rehab and would that be Mastercard or Visa.
I can't remember the last time I got one of those calls.
Scammers are often first scammed into slavery these days. Especially the “wrong person” text scams. Learning this tempered my fun messing with them. Now I wish them success in getting free from their captors.
Once a scammer called back after scamming my mother and was like put the money back in the account. I yelled at him using his real name and stuff and he said to my mum tell your daughter to shut up I have never seen my mother so mad she was screaming at him so loud he was sobbing it was so funny

The English guy who had the call about his "accident " had me in stitches. Probably better still cos I recognised his accent straight away- definitely from the South West of England without a doubt. Absolutely hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
