Hey ya'll! Today on my channel we are reacting to some people SCAMMING The Scammers. I think all of us have experienced a scam before, some of us have fallen for a scam. But usually, the police do nothing about it. That's why it's extremely satisfying when scammers get owned.

That is my goal as well. The American "do not call" registry is sh!t, but the real key is that scammers have spreadsheets of numbers they call and they take notes and sell numbers to other scammers. The trick is to get the scammer to make the note in their spreadsheet that you yourself are scambaiting. This is the most effective way to get on a scammers "do not call" list and reduce the number of scam calls you receive.

Last year I had this “health insurance company” call me while I was at work, but the name they had connected to it was “Tanner” and I’m more of a “Tammy”. When I told them I wasn’t Tanner they tried to get me to enroll in their insurance, I said no thanks I have insurance through my work, they said their’s is probably better, I just laughed and asked them to remove my number from their lists. They however did not do that and I was hounded with calls back to back, so I hounded them with calls back to back. I’d call them and when they answered I’d run the water on a toilet or just not say anything at all, on my breaks I’d call them every five seconds and not say a thing. The offices I worked in were still shut down back then, I was very bored and had all the time in the world to fxck with them.
These days though I rarely get a call as I wipe my information of any sites about once a month (google your phone number) and one of my credit card companies also finds and removes any information found on the dark web. Though lately I’ve been getting a call from an internet provider from a state I used to live in about once a week and scam texts that I report to my phone carrier, anytime it’s a group text I text SCAM back into the group in case someone doesn’t know. I have to keep reminding my mom not to fall for anything like that, some people don’t have someone to do that for them.

I kept a scammer on the phone for over an hour acting like a little old lady with dementia. I told him all about my many back accounts and money under my mattress, he was really excited. He told me he was from the IRS. When I finally broke and started laughing he started yelling at me telling me that the cops were being dispatched to my house to arrest me now. I lost the old lady voice and told him to shut the *(&^ up and leave people alone. The longer you can keep them on the phone, the less time they have to actually scam someone.

See, I've worked in a call center for so many years that my Phone Voice is so practiced at this point that people frequently think I'm a robot, so I could probably do it easy. It's just too bad that I don't sound as buttery-smooth and sexy when I do it as that guy does! I'm more like the Stewardess Barbie at the end of Toy Story 2; high pitched, bubbly, and like I've been huffing nitrous oxide fumes.
Though for what it's worth, that also has its benefits. When I have a frequent asshole prank caller get me on the phone and I see his phone number pop up on caller id, I really lean into the obnoxiousness of it so that I sound like someone who's so happy she's reached the point of being deranged and over the top excited to talk to the person who's just called my number, and he hangs up on me EVERY TIME. He HATES ME, and I LOVE IT.

Some countries have no citizen requirements to open a bank account in their country, but make it nearly impossible for law enforcement to see details of an account. If Nigeria is one of them, then the country’s banking system is accidentally safe for fraudsters. They are just claiming to be from the country the bank is in to make it more believable to the naive people.

When we used to receive calls from call centers my mom would fake receipts for utilities. Like "We pay €20 for the Internet connection so unless you can give me a better deal I'll end the call."
We once even received a call from our old Internet provider while we were still with them asking to move our Internet with them. My brother was dumbfounded the lady on the phone didn't know we already had a contract with them. He immediately thought it was a scam. My dad told him the lady didn't have access to that info and probably took a telephone book and called people at random to promote their Internet service.

Which I did. Over and over and over again for over an hour. I was off work for months already because of the pandemic, bored out of my mind, and walking my dogs in the park during perfect weather so my dogs and I settled in comfortably at a picnic table in the park and harassed the bejebus out of them for a long time. Hilariously, it was the same guy answering the line and eventually he'd just answer and curse me out. Fortunately I am much more clever and creative with my cursing and called him all sorts of fun names. Wasted a ton of his time. At one point I asked him if his parents were proud of him. Then I told him the best parts of him ran down his mama's thigh.

My favorite scam call was from the "IRS" telling me that owed money on my taxes. They continued by saying I could avoid paying the thousands of dollars I owed to the IRS, if I were willing to work with them, I could settle for only $1,500.00 by paying with a credit card over the phone. If I didn't pay them immediately the caller said, "the cops" would show up at my home and I would be arrested and brought before the local magistrate. The caller had a very British accent and didn't realize several things. 1) The IRS doesn't call you. They send you a letter and you go to them. 2) I didn't make over $15,000.00 for the entire year and the IRS actually OWED ME MONEY 3) I worked for the IRS at one time and told him so and 4) if you're going to threaten to take a person in the US to court, they appear before a judge and NOT a magistrate and an IRS employee would never refer to law enforcement as "the cops". Guy was so pissed I think he used every vulgar British word he could think of to sling at me.
