- Jeff Gordon's final career victory was an all-timer. At Martinsville Speedway in 2015, he clinched a Championship 4 spot in Miami and set off a celebration for the ages.
Jeff Gordon is the bridge between “old school” and “new school”. Just the right driver at the right time
Amazing to think his first race wad richard petty's last
He was the Man I saw him catch on fire at Richmond as a kid and actually bought that picture he instantly became my favorite driver. Man was I lucky to pick a all time great to be a fan of. At the time he was thought to be the next big thing but nobody was 100 precent sold.
yessir
So true ,just watched his first Daytona Race and they showed him playing a sega Racing video game with a joystick ha ha, kinda like they do now but with full on simulators at home
He showed em how to get around a turn, watched him since silver crown..
I was there and even as a Junior fan I was ecstatic and honored to be at this win. I can always say that I witnessed the legend Jeff Gordon’s final win!
DAEL first JEFF second
Oh crap I just realized your the iceberg keep up the great vids
As a black kid growing up, I didn’t watch NASCAR but i knew there was something about Jeff Gordon. Call it the face of my favorite cereal box as a child , the amazing color scheme, whatever it was even not being a fan I use to tell people I loved Jeff Gordon .. only years later I knew I picked the right one ☝🏾
Ong bro Jeff Gordon was that guy
I can't imagine being the guy that was able to lift Gordon up on his last victory. I grew up in a room decorated with Rainbow Warrior diecasts all over. This will probably always be my favorite win. Some kids have Batman. Some have Superman. Captain America. Spiderman. Iron Man. I had the 24.
Congratulations Jeff Gordon. Now I get to listen to you in the booth!
I also had nunerous Jeff Gordon Diecast cars. I still have a couple of them
Sad that he never won another championship.
You can thank the new bs rules
@@matthewread3465 I rant about them everyday. It’s why I mostly watch Formula 1 now
They screwed him outta multiple titles
He would have 7 guaranteed maybe even 8 but doesn’t matter he is and will always be mentioned with the all time greats he is top 5 easily but I have it 1 Earnhardt 2 Petty 3 Gordon 4 Johnson 5 a tie between Cale Yardbourgh and David Pearson
@@shanepleasants6280 I agree with the top 5. 100%
Any time Jeff Gordon won, America won.
Trevin Means nothing. I’d say there’s probably a lot of people in a picture with Bill Clinton!
@@Heyoo414 Actually it does mean something what they said
@@thickgirlsneedlove2190 I don’t even remember what the comment I was replying to said
He was truly America’s driver
Lmao how young are you
The tears are coming back man
Two moments I’ll always cherish as a young Jeff Gordon fan………
Phoenix 2011 (Because I FINALLY got to see him win a race)
And this win right here. Makes me tear up when I watch it
I remember being such a big Jeff Gordon fan as a kid in the 90s. And although I hadn't followed the sport much in the last 10 years coming back and watching this made me have one of those emotional reactions men don't talk about.
jeff gordon was my favorite racer since i was maybe 6. The guy was my idol for years and shocked me when i heard he was retiring. Probably the saddest moment of my life haha
Same
THE SOUNDS OF THE CARS ON THAT RESTART, THE MOMENT ITSELF, I WILL NEVER FORGET IT WHEN IT HAPPENED LIVE!!!!!!! 0:13
Heatwolf read my mind
not a Gordon fan, but i got so emotional seeing this. miss ya Jeff. ❤ #24ever
Still so proud of Kenseth for wrecking Logano like that
I hate you
This is a robbery do you hate me as much as Earnhardt hates the turn 3 wall at Daytona?
You are all morons who know nothing about racing....
JR Brittain it was so unnecessary for Logano to do that, he was faster that day and could’ve passed Kenseth clean.
drakionclawers how so?
This will always make a tear come out of my eye
Has to be one of the most iconic moments in sports history, the legend ended it with pure class 🫡🥲
#24ever "fightin' & diggin' boys that's what we do!!" - the GOAT
Jeff. Was my racer since I was 8 I loved him his car now. I am 34. My childhood adult like was amazing because of him he retired I never felt so complete I would of loved to see his race in person ....never got the chance but I watched it on tv cheering him on now I am blind I can't see the races anymore so I listened to it on the radio and when I heard he won I cried my eyes out ....... Still am he is my man .....my true racer. Of all times Jeff I love you man thank you for making my childhood great !!!!! And my adulthood I love you I will keep cheering you on even if your retired......thank you
One of the happiest days of my life!
My hubby and I knew of each other in high school, but didn't really know each other likes. He graduated a year before me. We did our thing.. 10 years later we met back up, and been together ever since... over 23 yrs. With that being said: He loved Gordon back in the 80's and I loved Davey Allison. Needless to say, we both had the same aspect on Racing. Old school. We still watch to this day. I went to jr/JJ and stuck with gordon. When Gordon retired, it took him a while to get back into it. I stayed with it. I like Chase when he started, and respected his dad Bill ELLiott.... It's now 2024. When WIlliam Byron came along he started getting into it, along with Chase... All n All, we are 9, 24/48 fans..... I WAS SO HAPPY I CRIED AT THIS
YEAH BABY
YEAH WE'RE GOING TO HOMESTEAD!!
has to be one of the greatest nascar radio celebrations of all time
Earlier that week, one of my acquaintances (I wouldn't really call him a friend) lost his father. My wish for that weekend was for Jeff Gordon to win since that whole family was filled with Gordon fans. I got that wish fulfilled!
Went from being the most hated during the start of his career to being the most loved in his last race.
GOAT
Still to this day one of my all time favorite races. As well as my absolute favorite Jeff Gordon win. Seeing him win that race and go to homestead one final time gave me goosebumps.
I was fortunate to have attended this race. Best race I've ever seen in person.
Had the Logano, Kenseth crash. Jeff's last win and it was before lights at Martinsville, it looked so cool seeing the cars race at dusk and watching the brake rotors light up in the turns. Just a great experience!!!!!
The day I didn’t hate Kenseth anymore
Nick Piombo NASCAR’s greatest revenge in my book.
Lol 😂
I've always been a Jeff Gordon fan, and I saw him win in person many times at races I've attended. I've also heard many boos for Jeff, I've seen beer cans thrown at him (I was at Talladega when that happened), and I myself have been ridiculed for being a Gordon fan. But on this day, it seemed everyone was a Gordon fan. It's like they knew this would never happen again, and they just witnessed a legend win his last race. Wish I had been there..
Love this win. Underrated paint scheme as well
I sure do miss that DuPont rainbow #24 and watching this amazing legend race!
Jeff Gordon was winning from start to finish in his career and probably could have kept winning longer.
Man, can't help it but coming back to this everytime. I was in college watching it through the website and got extremely happy when he won the race. To me this was redemption after last year but looking at it now what also fueled Hendricks hunt for the championship. They won 3 straight fall races starting with Jr and ending with Johson later winning the championship. Then just this past year Chase Elliott won at Martinsville and a week later won the championship. However to me this race win is a top 5 in my favorite wins list for Jeff Gordon.
Was a Gordon fan literally his whole career. Rookie season to this. Felt good seeing him notch one more win before packing it up.
...Would have felt better if he won the damn championship, but whatever.
Jeff Gordon was my grandfather's, and my, favorite racer. We always rooted for him to win. I'm glad to see that Jeff got to win one final race. A great way to end his career indeed
I was just so fortunate to be there to watch this, I was so excited/drunk #24Forever!!!
it's been 5 years and i still cry every time i watch this video
I still tear up when i see this
The best memorie in NASCAR history
Jeff Gordon is probably the last driver who made it to the championship 4 in his final season Johnson,Harvick,Kenseth Couldn't do it be Jeff Gordon did Amazing Run he had Jeff Gordon was my first favorite driver ever and Hendrick Motorsports
The 5 words that all Jeff gordon fans will remember “ advantage to the 24 car “. #24ever we miss you Jeff
JG was the Truth!!! Life long fan!!!
#24ever
I WENT TOTALY WILD THAT WAS AWSOME. HE TRULY IS A AMAZZING LIVING LEDGON😉😎👍👏👏👏
As a Canadian, Jeff Gordon was definitely my favourite racer. Watched him a lot as a kid.
Used to hate Gordon, but was routing for him here.... at the end of his career you had to admire & respect what he had accomplished as a driver. One of the best ever
When I saw him in 1992 at Atlanta I knew there was something about him. In 94 we saw the first glimpse of greatness at Charlotte and Indy. In 95 we saw a legend born and the rest is history.
It sucks I was never able, or ever will be able to see Jeff Gordon win a race in person.
I was a Jeff Gordon fan since 2007. I know...i was late to the party. But i was still as much of a fan. I became a Jimmie Johnson fan when Jeff retired. 2x24=48 Jeff was part owner of his car. There were multiple reasons to be a Jimmie Johnson fan when he retired. The icing on the cake was noticing which driver was the first to come and congratulate him on this win. Not surprised. Both are class acts.
They should retire numbers in Nascar. 43, 3, 24, 48 should all be retired for sure. A few others as well. There are plenty of other numbers 0-99
Starting to think that number prefers that man, Chase couldn't win in it for 2 seasons and in his first season in the 9 he's won 3 times and I don't see Byron wining in that number anytime soon
Lol. That's actually an interesting way of looking at it
Should be retired Jeff is too much of a legend
@@kengawddynamite8819 they didn’t retire the 3 they won’t retire anything
@@shanepleasants6280 they retired the 88
I miss seeing Jeff Gordon on the track, great driver all the way
That win as a gordon fan was one of the best moments of my nascar life #24everftl
Remember back in the 90's and early 2000's when the crowed used to boo and throw stuff at him? Listen to everyone cheer!
I'm not crying you're crying
When I was young I loved nascar, I got a huge Tote of them
In Jeff Gordon nation we trust 🫡
Was one of the best days of my life. Jeff won and my Broncos beat the Packers on SNF
24 forever fan since I was 6 in 2000!!!
I cried watching this when it happened!
This is classic nascar it’s nothing now Jeff was my favourite driver
I still can't believe that this was 6 years ago
I remember watching this live and had to leave right after it ended. Gosh I miss him driving the car #24ever
Martinsville really needs a night race.
They've installed lights last year maybe one soon
the races keep getting longer, last year ended under the lights
Yes it does
@@therealdonald9532 notice that in 2015 it was nearly dark without lights and jeff won, 2016 got a little later and a little darker, 2017 all the way in the early dark, and now 2018 guess what, probably going to be dark lol
Thanks president trump
Glorious 360p
Best part was seeing the 18 take the championship and having Tom Cruise come out during the banquet to give Jeff's send off speech
7 Years w
Make martinsville great again
Will always regret that day. Got sick the night before and didn’t end up going. I had tickets to go. Such a bummer.
The day where the crowd cheer for Matt
😂😂
Nelly would be proud when E.I. plays he knows one person who drives fastly in the Red & Black SS
Just to think 10 years ago they booed him
smile; its you!
Thank you Matt Kenseth 🥲
Yes!!!!
Couldn't have happened at a better place. A track Gordon had dominated at his entire career gave him the last win. Perfect.
Jeff was an all time great
I miss Jeff Gordon.
...the best!
Best Moment of me watching something live
THATS HOW YOU DO IT BABY 😎💪☝👊👏🏁🏁🏁🏁
We ate the books at Talladega when we flew the 24. Always #24
...the best...!😎
I Need Part Of This Video For A Short Nascar Video
Three years ago now damn, Feels just like yesterday Kenseth wrecking Logano
Way to go Jeffrey!!
I’m glad that my name is Jeff
Love you Jeff Gordon 24
The Best
It was so fitting, his win, Martin’s I’ll eat dusk, the sun was setting on his career and the tears were flowing. Miss this man on the track
THAT'S WHAT WE DO!!!!
Incorrect title. Wasn't last career race.
Think it means that the race was his final career win.
MY. HERO.
#24ever
#Mr.Nascar
His actual final race was in 2016 I saw it
I will be going to martainsville this weekend
I remember this
Sad he didn't get the championship he deserved
They should have had him drive either his doupont rainbow warrior car or his flame car for the championship race
He should've went with the rainbow warrior theme that last season
As much I love Jeff Gordon and his last win I really hate it for Jamie McMurray he was that close winning.
I thought the Kenseth and Logano rivalry would have lasted much more than Kansas and martinsville. Hoped the rivalry would have ended at homestead
Jeff Gordon has still got it. I wish he would go back to racing full time.
