In this video, I am using spray paint to bring these thrift store end tables back to life. The spray paint I am using is Rust-Oleums Chalked Aged Gray ultra matte paint. I wanted to try out this product because it is super accessible to almost anyone no matter where you live! Spray painting furniture is an easy way to transform a piece from old-looking to modern.
I did run into a few issues in this video and things didn't turn out perfect, but it was a fun furniture flip! I tested Bondo as a wood filler, which was pretty interesting. I hope you enjoy the video.

Glad you liked the screwdriver! Projects never go as planned, but you did an amazing job sticking with it and making them turn out beautiful!
I just used the screwdriver on my next project too, omg it makes life so much easier.. thank you sooo much!!!!
And nope this one was a pain but after putting in the extra work it came out decent!! Thanks Sabby :)

@@rochelletarr182 Thank you! ❤
Loved that you showed the struggle! I’ve been there more than once myself!
I always find myself making mistakes when I add more steps lol I should just keep it easy but that's not fun all the time either haha
Very modern and sleek...love your attention to detail despite the challenges. Also, I appreciate that you don't have loud music blasting in your videos. A hundred thumbs up... gorgeous!👍💕
Thanks D!! I appreciate your comment :) I did struggle with getting things smooth, but in the end, it all worked out!
Funny how the smaller projects are sometimes more involved than the bigger ones. End result turned out great. 👍
Totally, this one kinda got on my nerves lol i was expecting a quick flip..
Excellent work
Love your work and I admire your tenacity.
So refreshing to see a young man with your vision.
I appreciate the kind words :)
Comfort grips a life saver! My friends bought me one for Christmas after I refinished a dresser and my hands hurt for a week.
They totally help!! Highly recommend
Those caps in the drawers give a real high end look though!
I am happy I found them in my hardware show box lol
I’m new to rehab furniture. I’m so excited to try my first piece. Glad to see even the most experienced have issues while creating their pieces
I really admire you for not walking away from these at the store!! They were lucky not to be thrown in the dump before making it to thrift store.
I know some think trying to save these would use too many products that may cause more harm to the environment to refinish than just chunking into the landfill 🤷🙄
If nothing else it made a great piece for the newbies to practice on repairs....BUT, you Aced it !!!! Great job all the way to the bank😍
I'm giving you 5 hot chilli peppers for a job well done🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!!!!! 😁
Thank you so much for the kind comment :)
Awesome!! Loved how you showed how to work with veneer. I've often shyed away from. Those pieces bit now I'll be happy to try them. Thanks!!
Nice job!! Thanks for sharing the imperfections. Being real is so much more encouraging to those of us who are just starting out. Much appreciated!!
Just have to jump in and learn from your mistakes! That’s how I know what I know👍🏻 thanks for watching!
Wow, that's patience for you! You're always so chill and calm. Great work. Love your channel 💕 🌻
Love the end tables! It’s great to share your trials too.
Thanks Rebecca!!
That transition to the before was amazing! I really appreciate the attention to detail with the edits.
Thank you for sharing it turned out beautiful my heart was hurting when you had to redo it over again to use Bondo but the end result is stunning thank you for sharing enjoy your show report your next showing have a great day God bless
Great video. Loved watching the corrections on the mistakes.
Looks so fresh
thanks liz!
Another one!!! Great job! Such unique, one of a kind and beautiful furniture. TFS and God bless! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh I want one of those screwdrivers! Nice job!!
its amazing, I can't believe I never had one before...
Great project. And even greater taste on your vinyls!
Thanks!! I was trying to figure out a cool staging idea and saw the record player and vinyls, it ended up looking cool!
So sleek dude. Good job!
Great purchase with the spray can attachment 😊. Another great project
Amazing. Fun 2 watch and learned a bit.
Pretty dope, great work
What patience! I love the little pistol for the spray paint! Great job!
Thanks!!
Turned out nice!
Thanks Judy!!
I loved
Thanks for showing the downside! Turned out wonderful!
Bondo has a wood filler, too. I used it on my garage door to fill a bullet hole.
Love these!! You inspired me to redo this little table I have and you make it look much easier!! 😂
thanks and good luck!!
Great job! I've had the same exact struggles lol
GOOD JOB LOOKS PERFECT🌺🍀🌸
thanks Susan!
They looked really nice once finished! I would have liked to see the areas that you said didn't work out as well. I need the learning curve! LOL Veneer can be difficult to work with but I LOVE the idea of using bondo!! Genius!!
Thanks! Not that the pieces couldn't have been fixed, I just spent so much time already I didn't want to go back and add more Bondo to the uneven surfaces. I made sure the top and the front were smooth. One part of the side on one was a little rough from the bondo, but really it's hard to notice. I just like it when things are perfect so buyers aren't complaining LOL
They look good to me. 🙂
Where have you been missed the videos ,,,I like your attention to detail
My apologies! I am trying to do weekly videos but I had to clean out my garage and that was a lot of work haha It is all cleaned out and more projects are in the making :) sorry to keep you all waiting but thanks for the support.
Really like the end result. What do you mean about the Bondo not being perfect? I am really struggling on using fillers and not having them show up when I paint or gel stain over them.
Love the comfort grip! Just make sure to hold the can when shaking the paint.
Good tip, i could see me shaking the can and denting my piece lol
I shook a can using the grip...bad move...the can flew out and crashed to the ground and damaged the spray can hahaha duh hahaha
Wow these turned out very nice! TFS. Christine 🇨🇦
Thanks Christine!
Turned out great! Just ordered that electric screw driver!
Awesome, it helps a lot!!
I love, beautifull 🥰🥰🥰
thank you!
I'm curious why you didn't get the same color in the actual chalk paint?
Those cams add up on the wallet. I like how you have so much info on your filler and Bondo. Great job 👌👌
Sorry I read your description late🤦.
I ran into the same problem with fillers showing through a lighter color. I was going to consider using sea salt by Dixie Belle to give it a texture to camouflage it
I love the work you do man. Ive been refinishing furniture for about a year now. I struggle with trying to figure out pricing for my area, Northwest Ohio. Can i ask what part of the country are you from? and how do you figure out your pricing?
Thanks Joe!! I am actually from Canada. Pricing is typically based on supply and demand in your area. Check out your local Facebook Marketplace, buy and sell groups, and similar shops to see if there is much supply. It is good to see comparisons on the market, look at how much they are listed for and see how long its taking them to sell. Compare your work to theres and try to determine a price.
Since you have doing this for a year, think about past sales. Did they sell fast? If so increase prices, if not you may want to consider if you are listed high or not. It is similar to real estate, look at the market and determine a market value. Good luck!
Here in London we don't have mineral spirit.
We got Turpentine and white spirit.
Are they same?
Question: Couldn't you have peeled the flaking veneer then Sanded it smooth? Then primered it without using the bondo? I've been redoing furniture for a few months but avoid veneer when I can...
yeah, I was thinking that after I messed it up haha but I was already too far gone. Plus where the veneer wasn't peeling it was super hard to peel off, so that may have been tricky too. Who knows, the Bondo did the trick though. Thanks for watching!
Great work! Do you sell any of your projects?
Thanks! and yes I do, most of them!
Instead of no do next time try Durham s Rick hard water putty. Thanks for sharing wish you the best
Hi. I'm just wondering why you don't buy a spray gun. It would make the spray part faster and I know much spray cans can kill your hand after awhile. No judgement, just curious.
hmm, I own the comfort grip which I purchased in the middle of this project. and for real spray guns I own 2 HVLP guns that I use in a lot of my videos!
Little weird observation. To make the legs flush with the body, do you guys think it would look good if they were wrapped in a black or light grey stained leather?
I think that would look pretty cool!
You're cool. 😎
I thought I was the only one that stuffs up 😝
😝
I just bought myself that electric screwdriver 😂 it looks a lot lighter that the cordless big one I have! Great for smaller projects 😉
It's the way to go! I love it for removing hardware, I also used it to attach furniture legs. It will be in the next video, hopefully Sunday :)
@@FurnitureFlippa I hope it holds a good charge and powerful! 💖
@@michellecabasal2963 And thank you so much for the Brush!! Appreciate the support :)
you skipped applying the poly
I used wax, no poly in this one!
Was that $19.99 each?
for both!!
Furniture Flippa , phew 😅. Still a lot of money for such poor quality furniture.
@@jill552 yup, this thrift store is a rip off haha but people love matching tables so with some paint and cleaning up I should get 150-200 or maybe more!
My back and knees hurt for you. Why don’t you put small projects up on a table to save some of that bending and stooping. It catches up to you. Maybe an inexpensive folding table that’s portable.
would be a good idea! Idk why I don't lol
