It's really hard to not be critical of eupho players when you have perfect pitch cause of all the quirky partials and stuff, but this was a fantastic performance and deserves recognition for the effort put into it.
I had a lot of reservations about putting this video up because of how out of tune some of the notes were. I used to have massive issues on this particular instrument with tuning.
@@TrentHamilton I'm glad you decided to upload it. I've only just found this recording and I love the warm full tone you draw out from this instrument. The rest of the team are pretty damn good as well, providing a supporting role and balancing with some great dynamics and a showcase of what a decent brass band can achieve. Can't beat that sound.
I don't like playing the euph as a solo instrument, unless it's like singable warm dark solos. I liie to just be support or featured like French horns in movie soundtracks
OUT STANDING Trent! . I'm a former band director/conductor and brass player. I just get chills hearing an arrangement such as that and so well performed.
Well done Trent, amazing show, im in the Salvation Army too but in Birmingham and im a cornet player but that sounds amazing, i hope your still in that band👋👊👍👍👍🤞
Okay, this explains a lot as to why you play so technically well on trumpet and other valve instruments. You're really good!! What can I do to improve my technique?
Young Trent is adorable
yeah!
he looks better before
For some of us Young Trent still looks quite young... :)
How old is he in this concert? 20?
you should upload more of your performances

0:27 AHAHA I HAD THE SAME REACTION

yeah if they don't have the tuning slide lever, euphoniums have to be played by a master at lipping up certain notes.
Great playing Trent, your are very talented ! Congratulations

I'll forever be proud of playing the euphonium because of this

Thank you for your comment. Yes I’m still in this band - I’m playing cornet and conducting.
Brilliant.
Absolutely masterful performance!
Wow A True Salvationist after my Heart and a Euphonium Player to boot
I'm left handed, and a euphonium player, but I've never tried to play anything with the left hand. Perhaps I should! Bravo, sir!
Switching hands too... legend
I love this!!

How long have you been playing to get that good? I plan on getting back into playing low brass (tuba & euphonium) that solo was awesome!!
Wow ambidextrous! I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous.

I like the colour of the tunic
A very good Euphonium player David Kidd
There is a March based on this called Motondo I believe?
He’s a little Trent!
What brand and model is this horn?
Besson euphonium
5/7 for enthusiasm alone.
Wow, Trent's little brother is a talented young man. I wish I could play that well with just one hand! :-P
Martyn Askew I don't think that's his little brother I think that's him but younger
Back in 2009 I was just born
cheeky bugger
What happened man
That is amazing what grade are you I mean I'm probably just a bit lower than you are and I'm grade 7
J Potter hes like 27 or something but idk thats just a guess
Creepy Cooter ?????? I mean music grade on the Euphonium not his age
Did anyone notice that he almost never used the third valve?
Nikola Tesla he played in a range of the horn where he didn't really need it
You dont really need the 3rd valve in the higher register
Is this a song with variations?
Mr Donut No it isn't.
Is that you when you were younger?
No, it's me 10 years into the future.
Trent Hamilton ha funny
How old are you on that recording? You look so young 😂
20
1 person won't be traveling along
Well played. But your high register is sharp and your low is register is flat. Other than that bravo!
That's how brass instruments are
