A greatly underappreciated instrument in the hands of an immensely talented performer with an ensemble that does them justice. So glad I found this.
Definitely not unappreciated in the brass band movement
Do you realize what band you are talking about? This guy wouldn’t be accompanied by this band if he were not first class!
❤
That was tremendous. It takes a lot of practice to be able to play like that. I know because I played euphonium as well. Very impressive! Thanks for this beautiful music.
Absolute world class sound, world class technique, Outstanding playing by Daniel. Great accompaniment from the best in the business
That last note 😍😍
World-famous band fronted by a premiere soloist! Simply wonderful!
i was at that concert, in the front row. huge sound.
I play euphonium at my school band and I strive for this tone.
Me too, what grade are you in?
Long tones baby
Absolutely love this!! He should be world famous, what a fantastic player, so talented 😮😮😮😮. Not for getting the amazing ensemble with him each playing their part.
Elegant tone, technical finesse, great job!!
Wonderful tone and use of vibrato and dynamics in that solo. Great stuff!
Magnificent. This was my instrument through high school and college, and I loved it dearly. This performance was masterful, to say the very least.
That was awesome! Haven’t heard euphonium played so well in a while!!
SUPERB.............no other word for it .
Wow, wow, wow…. Did I say already ‘wow’? Such a great control an sound. Thanks for sharing this enjoyable piece of master skills.
Im an euphonium and im on solo for our 75th school anniversery and it happns tomorrow so i thought to learn some lessons from this..i appreciate this🙏
I love how much attention this has brought to this infallible instrument. A truly virtuosic performance deserving of every ounce of praise!! 👏👏
Thank you very much!!

Yes he is!!
Damn!
That’s all I can say after hearing this guy play the heck out of that horn.
The euphonium is the town hero of the band.
What a beautiful euphonium sounds!
Fantastic~~~~~~!!!!
I knew this song’s simple melody would lend to bravura variation. Such a beautiful sound in the euphonium, truly a gem.
man what an entertainer!!!! a band with a top conductor leading them beyond themselves to play more then the notes great ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ ♫♪ ♫♪great sound! ♫♪♫♪ ☺ ♥ ♫♪☺♫♪ great ♫♪♫♪☺ BRAVISSIMO @bisbis 🎶🎵🎼 great music! a well tuned ensemble that sounds like an organ ! Fabulous banding
This guy's tone!!❤
Magnificent, bravo bravo! You've inspired me to buy a euphonium, what a super instrument!!!!
3k down the drain
Yeah I rented one as well lol
Loved it! What a musician.
Man for the whole piece I was thinking, "yeah yeah another **stellar** euphonium player with an amazing tone", then my eyebrows almost entered orbit on that gorgeous last insanely high note. Wow!
Really awesome! My sons played everything low brass and one son's primary instrument was the euphonium! Absolutely love that instrument!
Wow!! Thank god I managed to get the last ticket for their gig at Skipton Town Hall next week...shame it literally was the last ticket, I wanted desperately to share it with somebody I know. Either way I willl loveit!!!
Why is this getting so many views?!?! Thanks for uploading!
Hi Daniel. We don't know each other but guess the reason for so many hits is you played this so meticulously and with care, you deserve all the attention. I must add the band was fantastic that night so I've no idea why the rest of my uploads equally haven't taken the same hits, but given time they might. Your band is simply outstanding.
You should be very proud. If only I could play the Cornet again as I once did when young but alas the years have taken there toll & stepping away from the SA Band I once served in, has taken its toll. Shame really as when young I was quite good. Now I'm rubbish and could not blow a simple Hymn Tune with style, so I'm guessing the lesson is "Never let that talent slip". Take care my friend and stay safe.
@@RobertMitchell-tg3np Too kind! Thanks!
@@danielthomas7629 No seriously your playing is magnificent. Such a talent. I thought SA ISB Euphonium player Derick Kane was the best until I heard you but your equally up there with such eloquent skills and such a lovely tone. Make sure the rest of Black Dyke know your hits as its simply gone crazy with over a thousand views a day. There is many more uploads on that night, so take a look.

May be give this a go Daniel as its a great piece.
How do you get a super C? I've been trying for 29 years.
Dan, Your playing has had 14,220 hits (views) in just 48 hours - it's gone crazy. So well done. You made this so special backed by your colleagues who are outstanding.
Well named instrument! I've only ever heard of a euphonium in the words of a song. So impressive - both the instrument and the musician.
Daniel is a true virtuoso!
A wonderful, and witty, performance.
Astounded, not only by the fingering of the valves (I don't play, apologise if that is not the correct wording!), but also the knowledge that his lips must have been performing contortions at the speed at which he was playing! A musical treat!
Don't know why the trolls choose to criticise but its a free world.
Well played Daniel, excellent
They had us singing this at school when I was a lad of 6 or 7 it drove me mad then but put a grin across me chops this morning lol
Fantastic and beautiful tone
Wunderbar!!! Danke aus der Schweiz
Love the Eupho. Wow!!! The boy can play- wonderful sound and technique. Makes it sound so easy when it isn't
あんなに細かい音で早くて高いのにめちゃくちゃ綺麗でほんとに凄い。口が動くのはもちろんピストンの速さも凄い、余裕そうに吹いているのも凄くかっこいい。こんな風に吹けるようになりたい。
Beautiful!!!
Wow.. respect.. great sound.. great technic.. greatings from Holland.

Oh my how wonderful such talent
First time I have heard BDM use a different soloist since I heard John Clough do it over 40 years ago, 1967 to be exact.
This man does a great job of it
John's performance is one of my faves!
Daniel always makes the instrument almost talk he's just magical with it .
Not forgetting the rest of the brilliant musicians who are in the world famous Black Dyke Band. With there great leader Nicholas child's. There always Top class ...

Super ❤❤
wow this takes me back to 1974 when I was in the chase high school band, martin Everest used to play this with one of the band masters a guy called ginger trustler who played the clarinet to accompany martin. it was there party piece.
Literally every decent jazz song from the 30's and 40's had a Euphonium playing as the base sound. It's sooo sad that nobody knows what it is😑
Beautiful euphonium sound 🤍
Expressive and empressive musicianship.
Simply brilliant! Nothing more to say👏👏👏
БРАВО!!!!!!
so wonderful, thank you for the very nice memories I have of my grandfather😍 love greetings from germany
👏 magnifique 👍
A wonderful performance.
I didn't know what to expect when this came up as a youtube suggestion. Wonderful performance. My primary instrument is trombone but I also play baritone and this guy blew me away.

Wonderful
Bravo magnifique song 👏et technique parfaite millles merci que du bonheur de vous écouter 👏
Bravo excellent état 👏
So nice to hear the first variation played at the right tempo. Too often it’s rushed through. Great playing.
this wayy to slow tho. john cloughs version is the way to go
Not necessarily way to slow. It is supposed played in a slightly reminiscent tone, which to me means slower rather than faster.
Molto bravo e grande voce👏👏👏
Euphonium is such an s tier instrument and you can’t tell me otherwise
I play trumpet- That was AMAZING!
Bravo.
He makes it sing
Would love to hear your group play Holst's Second Suite in F
