When you play with a Jupiter euphonium given to you by the high school because you absolutely cannot afford your own euphonium but then you go to a Carols By Candlelight concert meaning to play trombone but your conductor asks you to play euphonium but you have already arrived so he offers you to play his with his washed mouthpiece and you agree and he arrives and gives it to you and then when you do sight reading when you perform but you realise that the whole time you’re playing you can’t get any wrong notes even if you try and your tone sounds so much better without even trying and you can suddenly play the high notes without trying and you know this is not because of the mouthpiece because you play with the exact same model of mouthpiece he plays with so you know it is the different model of the euphonium which is a York brand and you now find it’s exquisite in look and structure because it makes you sound better in every way and it makes playing easier for you in every way and then you finish the carols night and you come home and you watch a video of Steve Mead and you wonder what his euphonium would be like and you realise it’s probably a brand that doesn’t make anymore euphoniums entirely like your conductor’s because York doesn’t make any euphoniums anymore and you’re really sad because you wanted one for Christmas but you know you’ll never get it because your next best option is Besson and you’ve tried it but even though you like the sound you produce, it’s not comfortable at all so you are now sad because you wish you could meet Steve Mead and steal his euphonium and also have him as your tutor and his wife who also plays euphonium as your best friend because she is also amazing and so is every other euphonium player you have met and you also think that you’re lucky because your first euphonium tutor eventually became the best in Australia and you’re really proud of him and now the tutor you have is a pom and all you get to do when you’re in lessons with him is argue about which pronunciation of which word is correct because he is born and bred in England and you’re born and bred in Australia and you now are rambling on about your night and how you got to this point and now come to the conclusion that your euphonium life is not nearly as weird as you think because there are other people who say this is normal because they’ve all been through their euphonium crisis and you also realise that this is not true because you don’t have any euphonium friends except for your euphonium section in band who don’t talk to you because they’re snobs and they aren’t even considered friends and it doesn’t even look like they’ve ever been in a euphonium crisis and you’re also the only euphonium on your school and that euphonium section you were talking about earlier is a from a brass band outside of school and it is comprised of old people and maybe it’s the age difference that prevents them from talking but you still think they’re snobs because you try to make conversation but they don’t reply with so much as a yes or no so that’s cool but at the end of the day you just really want to meet Steve Mead and will be sad when someone better than him rises but you know no one will ever be as great as him because the only way you can beat him is if he fails himself because that is how good he is and he doesn’t make room for mistakes intentionally unless it’s for a good cause or something but I don’t really know anything so you just know that Steve Mead is great.
I have had the opportunity to meet Steven Mead on a few occasions and each time was amazing. The first two times, I was still in high school. He often played with The Brass Band of Battle Creek who performed in our school auditorium and he sat down with the Euphonium players and taught us some techniques. He played The William Tell Overture and played melody AND harmony simultaneously! It was awesome to play with him and he is a great guy!
God i dont believe they are that bad because every eupho section i come across is filled with players that are extremely good but are all snobs. I and my friend, from the euph section, are the only people who socialise with other players in the band. The rest of our section dont toalk to each other or anyone else.

I'm just wondering... I was trying multiphonics about a month ago on the euphonium and I almost passed out. How can I do multiphonics without passing out?
It's actually not about putting pressure. It's easier, in fact, if you're relaxed. The way I eventually got it was by singing into my euphonium and then starting to buzz my lips. It may be different for everyone, but that's how I got it to work eventually.
The fourth valve is the equivalent of valves one and three put together. It will play the exact same notes as one and three combined and is preferable when playing fast-valved passages.
He can play every note without a single valve as seen here. He’s manipulated his embouchure enough that he’s able to do this. He can even hit the Eb to B range below the staff without a fourth valve. It takes many many years of study and practice to achieve this feat and to this day few brass players have achieved what Steven and only a few others can do

I guess you can try TUBA exercises to help with using enough air, cause it's easier to do multiphonics on low notes
