Great song. I especially enjoyed the final section. Looking forward to you getting around to that Gazpacho - Massive Illussion (studio version) eventually. Great selection as always Jim. Love the channel.
If I remember, the majority of the funding came from a fan. He died before it was finished. I think the short song on the album "WOMB" in memoriam was written in tribute. Still waiting for more Marillion though. Been listening to the new stuff recently. "New Kings" wonderful listen.
I swear I will get this to every reaction channel on youtube. maudlin of the Well - Birth Pains of Astral Projection A comment from ProgArchives: "The majority of the band's music and lyrics is based around astral projection. The goal of Maudlin Of The Well was never to create music, but rather to bring back pre-existing music from another plain of existence. This was done through the practices of lucid dreaming and astral projection. Whether or not the band achieved their goal, it is fair to say that they have definitely created some of the most original and other-worldly music ever. " (I agree with this entirely, this band has changed my life)
@@JimNewstead , I love it! It may be weird but this track reminded me of Mike Oldfield's "Crises". It maybe because of the similar comfort in listening. This twenty something minutes felt like five...
Hey jim. I love that you catch up on older recommendations, makes clear how much you care for all our opinions and recommendations. Soo i forgot to recommend my all time favorite Band. I would love to see a reaction zo: Audioslave wuth their song: “#1zero“
Jim please! My play list is feeling violated from all this new music I'm stuffing into it 😂 But seriously though this band sounds great. I never usually have the time to sit down this long but this was definitely an exception. Cheers mate. 👍
Ha, you did it you mad man. I was only listening to this for the 100th time the other day and was going to suggest this. My suggestioon was going to be this or the opening track.
Hey Jim. I hope you're doing good mate. Grasping the mid-flight opportunity to let you know I'm enjoying your content, even though reaction videos are not to my taste, mostly because you are emitting the air of a rare audiophile to me, and there's a really good vibe in your nature. So thanks, and good job! I would also like to propose a phenomenal masterpiece that will really, either confuse, or exhilarate listeners. It's a marriage of genres, of what comes to feel like a symphonic metal swing jazz ensemble. I would correlate this song to material coming from a band like Diablo Swing Orchestra, but it's nowhere close. The pacing is very different, key tuning on genre changes is spot-on but very aggressive, and it felt very fresh, very new to me when I first heard it a few days ago. It's got all it takes to receive comments from someone doing what you do, and I'd honestly enjoy your opinion over the rain of very mixed criticism. The band is no other than Epica, and the collaboration is fulfilled with the Motropole Orkest. And here goes the link: ruclips.net/video/wx_gsLBDX2I/видео.html Enjoy! Which I think you will.
Now that was interesting! First minute there got me to think of some dystopic monk choir, leading in to an intro that when experienced live I'd guarantee everyone in the audience would nod to a different beat! And then going on to be a really epic journey with some clearly gifted and talented musicians! Thanks for showing this! I'll definately check this band out some more. Never heard of them before. And, as usual I'll toss in a request for Art of Illusion - "Distance". ruclips.net/video/4bE_ryqp3Ig/видео.html
Hey Jim. Happy Thanksgiving (US holiday if you're not familiar with it). Time for turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie!
Also, if I could impose I'd like to make a request for one of three Puscifer songs. The Arsonist Horizons The Remedy Puscifer is very different from Tool and A Perfect Circle and shows a different side of Maynard. Those three tracks are quite different from one another.
Well isn't that a damn nice build up at the start? This Song has a lot of power. I dont 100% like the mix because the vocals get lost slightly. But maybe thats meant to be like etheral sounding assisting vocals. Overall i like it. Some really nice parts in this. Especially the bass guitar is insanely good. A few funky lines, super cool :)
OK, now I'm stuffed and need to get some exercise..LOL. I know you focus on metal but if you want to try something really good in a different genre, try Chris Stapleton - either I Was Wrong or Sometime I Cry. He has soul and music is bluesy country. You won't regret it.
Mate! Loved seeing someone finally react to Arcane and The Butterfly Effect, even though I would've reccommend different songs (Keeping Stone and Worlds on Fire). I think you would like Cog, who are also Aussies and one of our most revered bands. Try anything but prob their song Anarchy OK a good place to start.
Thank you Jim for highlighting this masterpiece. In my point of view, it's a quintessence of prog-rock music. Arcane deserves Tool's glory
Ethereal virtuosic vocals.
Enigmatic grandiose guitar.
Esoteric precision percussion.
Emotive sympathetic synth.
Eloquent benevolent bass.
The entire song sounds like the climactic last 2 minutes of a really epic prog album... but for 20+ minutes straight.
I love it.
Caligulas Horse .. Graves ...magnificent
wow Jim, thanks for sharing, this is fantastic !
It is great. You now need to listen to Caligua's Horse who were born out of the ashes of Arcane.
Just found this band and song and had to see if anyone reviewed it yet. You're the goat jim
Awwww, thanks man! 😁👍🏼
Great song. I especially enjoyed the final section. Looking forward to you getting around to that Gazpacho - Massive Illussion (studio version) eventually. Great selection as always Jim. Love the channel.
Arcane are so underrated. Both their albums are fantastic.
If you haven't yet. Try Nightingale's weave and both keeping stone songs. Bliss.
Thank you Jim for sharring This band. Enjoyed Arcane for two weaks now in My drive to work. Great band.
Christmas has come early! Thanks Jim!!!!!
Another great discovery!Really enjoyed that.I am going to check their albums for sure! Thanks
Love this album. Heard it a year or so ago. Never stopped listening.
Great concept album. It's a theme of moments between a father and daughter
Wow that was great. I too have not heard of this band. Thanks!

I swear I will get this to every reaction channel on youtube.

Thanks so much for sharing this Jim! I'm glad to find new music on a journey with you. :-)
well, that went really fast - a few minutes in, it ended and I realised that 21 minutes had flown past... Great! More!! :)
Well, that was a cool journey... Thanks!
No worries - amazing tune, eh?

Wow, what a great song!!

Hey Jim I'm curious, what kind of headphones are those?
Btw, nice find! I really enjoyed this song. Never heard of Arcane.
They look like they're AKG K701
