Good install but I like the idea of the wheels on the front of the snowblower, i snow blow a path across my lawn to my back woodshop, if it’s too soft the guide rails dig into the lawn.
totally awesome, was looking for something like this as the manual arm is way too cumbersome to use and i too am a small guy and have the same issue with use.... will get this for next year as i dont have a garage to do this in and we are now into our 2nd snowfall in NB
Thanks. I wanted to buy powerlift attachement from a renowned tractor company but I found too expensive $$$. So I landed to your video and find it so simple I will make one for me too. However I will take away the long handle and the lock pin as well. The weels at the front of the snowblower is an awesome idea. Hi from Montreal. (Will go Canadian Tire).
Hey Gerry. Great video. I want to do that to my tractor. That is a great idea. I tried to come up with my own idea, but the hood was always in the way. Your idea works the best. It takes a Canadian to figure out how to work with a snow blower. LOL. Thanks a lot, Buddy.
@@gerryfrenette4349 I will install mine tomorrow. The only problem that I have is I can't steer very well in the snow. It is fine when I'm not blowing, but if I am blowing, the wheels want to go straight. Do you have that problem?
@@AndysDogHouse i’ve seen that happen. The solution is to lift the bucket up just a little bit off the ground like even a half an inch or an inch. The weight of the snowblower bucket will hold the front tires down more.
Yes, the winch is still working perfectly. It doesn’t really get wet, but I don’t think it is a problem anyway. No worse than rain if it was installed on any other vehicle.
Hello sir. Thanks for the advice I have the same unit as you. Just installed it last weekend but cannot figure out the spring system for the Belt pulleys. I contacted John Deere and they do not have a diagram on the Belt pulleys Spring location. Is it possible that you can take a screenshot or video of your spring system. You are the only one online that has this older set up for the snowblower. Thank you.
It’s hard to take pictures of the springs when the snowblower is installed, but I gave it a try. Note that there is a missing rubber belt in this picture because it just broke yesterday. Have to get a new one.
Hey. I assume you mean the gray wheels that I put on side of the snowblower. I bought them from a specialty caster company called Can-Am casters and wheels. I think they change their name now though. But you can find any caster supplier near you.

Glad you found it useful.
Pretty ingenious putting the winch on the blower instead of the tractor.

Nice job. I see I now have another project to do!

Nice thanks 👌
There is a lift kit for it. Also you can build your own just need a electric actuator and a bracket.
Yeah. I looked at it and find it fragile. The winch is great and sturdy more that neede.
Nice job.

OK so it turns out I am unable to add pictures to these replies. Shoot me an email and I’ll send them to you. gerry@magicmakersillusions.com
wonder if the winch lasted thru gettin wet ?? 2 n 1/2 years later ??
The winch is designed for outdoor use such as on a boat trailer. Rain would be much worse than snow, so it hasn’t been an issue.
@@gerryfrenette4349 good to hear... waiting on warmer weather to work on my blower. the fun lol ... ty for some ideas tho ..
Hi nice work thanks i want the same wheels too where did you get them thanks 😊

Combien pour votre tracteur
Hello. The tractor is worth around $4000 Canadian. The snowblower about $2500.
