Hi Charles, we use row () to get us the row number, and since the formula is in Row 2 , when using the row function it will give us 2 , but we need 1 for the first Vlookup entry, so we minus 1 to get 1. Hope this is clear. Enjoy...Join my course on Udemy to learn more Advanced stuff..
