      Hay un tipo de clínica en Vietnam donde te piden que tragues una solución de agua salada que induce el vómito. Te dan un tazón de papel y luego, cuando has vomitado en el tazón, proceden a hacer un "análisis de vómitos" donde analizan lo que hay en el tazón y te dan una impresión de tus niveles de nutrientes e información de hidratación. Esto cuesta 12 dólares estadounidenses y es muy popular allí.

      A couple months ago I was in the ER because I had black stools and was concerned that I might have had gastrointestinal bleeding. At any rate, I was situated by the nurses' station while two women in my vicinity started throwing up.I had to plug my ears.

      @janependry848 No. I don't like throwing up but I don't have a fear of it. As far as seeing others vomit I certainly don't want to see it and hear it. The sound is horrible. It sounds like the person is being strangled.

    • @janependry848
      @janependry848 Месяц назад

      @JerryOrbachFan Месяц назад

      @@janependry848 It's bizarre because I can handle seeing it on RUclips. Like the banana and Sprite challenge or milk chugging challenge. I just have to turn the volume down. I don't have a paralyzing fear of seeing it but I try to avoid being close to someone who is getting sick or about to. I've gotten carsick on my lawn. I managed to hold back until I got home. Two roads in my area have a lot of twists and turns and with the way my sister drives it wasn't surprising. 🥴😅

    Hi Armando, I have a couple of questions that I have been googling without finding a satisfactory answer. First, what is the exact relation between vomiting and hypoglycemia? From my understanding, it has something to do with compensatory responses (release of glucagon and adrenaline) but I can't quite put my finger on it.
    And second, why do we vomit during a flight or fight situation? Does the command come from the higher centers (the cortex) or is adrenaline directly involved by binding to receptors in the GI tract? I don't understand how this hormone can cause vomiting since it lowers GI motility. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work. I love your videos.

    • @xDomglmao
      @xDomglmao 6 лет назад

      Interesting questions; I know that insulin-induced hypoglycemia stimulates the CN X afferent fibers which will at the end lead to stimulation of the CN X efferent fibers and in turn to incr. gastric acid production.
      I guess the extra amount of acid produced this way can also lead to stimulation of enterochromaffin cells?
      I could also think about the symp. NS being on overdrive, and a way to forcefully "calm down" (bcs the heart etc. has it's limitations, too) is via heavy CN X activation (the reason why ppl urinate in case of extreme fear/ danger) -> activation of CN X could then again lead to enterochromaffin cells being stimulated.
      I'll ask my professor and let you know :-)

I never had a problem drinking it straight but now if I have one shot, I start gagging like mad and get nauseous. I can drink anything else straight though, just not vodka anymore.
