this is so special.... I am Indian... fascinating for me to think people actually could leave everything and money away with absolute nothing.... how much would they have suffered in an alien land and yet didn't give up...
Love n respect. Cherish it always. Also, teach your history to your kids. 😊😊

The british being inherently evil and criminally inclined pretended to abolish slavery but cleverly replaced it with indentured indian slave labour and our country men never got to see their country again. Eternal Shame on these rascals for having spread suffering and misery wherever they colonised and ruled

As a South African and An Indian I am proud that we have played a huge part in building South Africa. Thank you for this video. It is a brilliant reminder to never accept ones current position as the final destination.

My ancestors who came from India to Malaysia were also called as coolie. They were brought by the British to build up railways, roads and mostly to work at the rubber plantation. Many of them died coz of malaria disease. Besides that, during the world War 2 the Japanese forcibly took many Indian coolie mainly men to build railway from Thailand to Burma and they hardly made their way back to their families. The contributions of the Indian ancestors to the level where Malaysia is now, can't be expressed in words. But, the Indian in Malaysia are the poorest of all the other races, discriminated and always being called to go back to our origin land eventhough the Indians live here for 200 years.

This is part of Indian history that isn't taught at schools and needs to be brought to the forefront. People need to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

This is the history of the Indians living in Africa, Trinidad, Tobago, West Indies, and Fiji today. They endured hardship and remained strong for their families. But what is also important is that none of these people harassed or placed the indigenous people of those lands in dire straits. The Indians worked with them and supported them. Unfortunately, today, many of the Indigenous people in particular in Africa and Fiji are forming alliances with White people who suppressed them for ages, and together engaging in cultural appropriation against Indian ethnicity and culture, leaving Indians in poverty. This is a new trend across all of the diaspora Indian communities. So it appears that hardship is not over for Indians. Indians need to break this cycle by speaking up for themselves and forming a coalition with the aim of bringing to the fore front the contribution Indians have made to the respective countries and not permitting other ethnicities to culturally appropriate Indians. Simply acknowledging all people living in prosperity in the countries named above is due to the Indians who built the land will go far. For those who support this, I salute you.

Typical divide and rule tactics adopted by white people to deflect blame from themselves and blame indians.

I am 61 years old, and we are in the year 2021. About a month ago, I received travel documents of my grandparents from both sides. I have been searching, looking, asking, digging for most of my adult life. When I got it, I cried. I am from both Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The British, French, Portuguese, committed genocide, holocaust and crime against humanity. Our fore parents gave all so all can carry on without having to live their horrors. We cannot, we must not forget, Britain, France, Portugal, Denmark have to answer for atrocities committed during occupation, accumulating indentured, transport of indentured and treatment of indentured on colonies. They must be held to answer. Reparations must be part of discussion. I was born in British Guiana, now Guyana. Currently residing in USA.
