    Personally, I think classified is the best 1/12th scale line of figures ever made. Here in Atlantic Canada they are ridiculously hard to get a hold of. No stores here ever seem to have them in stock. I have 6 figures and 1 vehicle in my classified series collection and feel lucky just to have that.

    To be fair they had a weird start with some strange design choices. I think it was more like leaving the club at 3am and grabbing something that will do short of other options. Then the Cobra Island saga pissed off a lot of people and the fantom hasn't been in a great place. I've bought and sold the line and started again, but I won't touch any of the early stuff

    Honestly though that would probably be me if I wasnt a lazy hoarder with them :D And I avoided that Skystriker like a plague as good as it looks. And You guys need to make me stop drooling over 3.75 scale stuff since I just finally got rid of most of it.

    Man and I thought I had collecting issues.....I really feel your pain! I haven't thought of my o-ring Joe's in a long time. I use to mix and match and make new figures when the o-rings snapped. I really should break them out again. Great video good luck.

    I've been wanting a 6inch GIJoe line for many many years. And when it was announced that my dream was coming true.... I was all in!
    From the beginning, I've been able to get every classified figure released thus far. And hopefully sometime next year, I'll be able to display them all. But as for now, they're all still in their boxes, tucked away in storage. (which is a sad thing to see)

    That's funny. I've done the same thing. I'm a little older than most collectors. I started collecting in 87 when I was 17 and had about 400 o-rings figures which I sold around 2000. I love GI Joe but I just can't get into the 6 inch line.

    I sold all of my classifieds initially. I wasn't really digging them. I still don't like most of the early ones. Then Major Bludd came out and he looked so good. Then they showed the Tiger Force Outback. I'm back in, but only get the ones I love. So glad I never bought the first Gung Ho, because I just received the new retro one. He rocks!

    I grew up with GIJOE back in 82 and collected them up until I was nearly 18 and I have a very fond love for the old toys and cartoon. If you didn't grow up during that time or never collected them then I'd just avoid it. I consolidated my collecting to just lines from my youth, which means I skip a lot of cool stuff now. However, I am just like you. I buy stuff and sell it, only to buy it again. In order to prevent this cycle I just made the leap to only buying Super 7 for TMNT, ThunderCats, Silverhawks, and GIJOE. Nothing else will get bought, and I'll enjoy the look of other lines, but I will not buy them. You just have to really put yourself in a lane and stick to it. I am always baffled as RUclipsrs who buy any figure they find instead of only collecting certain lines etc. Its a dangerous path to get into every new line regardless of what the 'cool kids' are collecting or not. I get made fun of for only collecting Super 7, but I am having fun and finally enjoying my collecting, and now it is also more manageable. Just be happy and love what you love, avoid the collecting bandwagon which can suck you in. Good luck.

      @YHSToyAnxiety  2 года назад

      Great insight! Super7 is killing it across the board, all of their Ultimates are great, I have had to stop with TMNT though since I collect NECA TMNT. I am all in on Disney and Simpsons Super7 though!

  • @MillenniumFalcon
    @MillenniumFalcon 2 года назад +2

    Totally relate brother. I enjoy the chase and the quest to build a collection more than actually owning my figures forever. I have a stash of third party and Hasbro MP Transformers and GI Joe Classified and did the exact same thing of buying and reselling and then buying again and then keeping them stored in a box in my home.

    I collect Transformers and I'm also all in to a degree when it comes to collecting. My goal is to collect every character from all four seasons of the original animated series and the original 1986 movie. Now, I'm starting to look at the new G.I. Joe figures and getting an itch to collect them as well. If I do, then I'll be all in again lol! I'll need to collect every figure from the animated series and the movie!

    This is the first video I’ve watched from your channel. You really cut to the core when it comes to collecting. Especially when it comes to GI Joe collecting. For me I have to set boundaries to find comfort in being a collector. So I’m a vintage collector. This gives me comfort in being choosy with the Classified line. The Classified line is so plagued with issues that it doesn’t feel good to collect. 1. You have to order everything online. This is anathema to the hunt & a cornerstone of collecting. 2. Nerf guns, Iron Man boots, terrible quality accessories. 3. Being sold on digital renders, not toys. The hype of the newly announced toy dies halfway to the release date. Partly because you’re hyped on another digital render. 4. Exclusives, repaints, 8 snake eyes, 7 roadblocks, army builders not in stock, and retro cards destroyed in shipping all punish collectors instead of rewarding them. You’re right, Classified is toxic & that’s on Hasbro. I recommend becoming a 25th anniversary or vintage collector. Then the characters you love get in 6 inch. Otherwise you’ll keep chasing your own tail.

    I was excited to get into this line after my brother highly recommended it to me, but after buying 3 figures in a row that all broke the same way, I have avoided this line like the plague. In case you are wondering how they broke, it’s those damn “drop down” joints. Right out of the box, there would be that dreaded “white stress” on the plastic. Moving the leg forward would sheer the plastic clean on with minimal force. I really don’t like those drop down joints, they are very overrated and don’t execute that well especially in this scale. I love the design of them, and how they are loaded with accessories, but I just can’t buy them after this. I have no clue why the plastic is already stressed right out of the box without even posing it.

    I sold my entire Classified collection too when the market was very high but the thing is I sold them & took the money to purchase the vintage ARAH figures & vehicles I had as a kid because I was just filling a void with the Classified for not having the vintage figures & vehicles! I regret it sometimes but only when I see something cool come out for Classified but when I look at the vintage I purchased I made the right decision because thats where GI Joe deep down really hits me! No matter how cool they make the 6inch figures they will never compare to the nostalgia & awesomeness of the vintage! Also Im saving myself a lot of stress, frustration & money trying to find them as any ARAH figure or vehicle is readily available at any time!
