      Captain Obscurity Bingo! I was waiting for someone to post that quote haha! At the end of the day a lot of prohibition laws seem to be an attempt to legislate "morality." The problem is, you can't legislate morality.

      The controlled substance act is 100 percent unconstitutional, which makes it unlawful/not the actual LAW. And I can prove this front to back; the only reason nothing has changed is they will not bring such a case to the supreme court. The federal govt has no jurisdiction under law, but they still put people in cages for plants. Govt=criminals.

      ***** Ya see the real problem here is the question. The real question ought to be, "where in the Constitution is the federal government granted the right to regulate such activity." But more to the point of your own question, the first place I'd look is the 10th Amendment.

    I'm a husband, a house owner, a staffing company manager and the co-owner of a relatively successful exotic animal shelter. I have never, and probably will never intentionally hurt another person... and I'm a high profile criminal. I have to lead two lives in a way, and I have been for decades. I use banned substances, sometimes recreationally, and that makes me a bad person in the eyes of the law. I could have, on several occasions, faced upwards of 40 years to life imprisonment for the entheogens I owned and used, and a few years ago, the cannabis I used. It's absolute nonsense. It weighs on me and my husband.
    The risks are so severe that sometimes I feel we should just give in and quit, switch to using antidepressants and painkillers and other pharmacy poison, but... fuck. that. bullshit. I've seen what that can do, experienced the suffering firsthand for several years. I'd rather wear a bullet than surrender my mental health to hyperpowerful, addictive and dangerous alternatives again, just because the Moral Majorty are terrified of our happiness.

    Exactly, if things were legal it would be safer to consume. You're than forced to consume pharmaceutical poison. I will always stand up and speak proudly about cannabis, mdma, LSD and DMT. I unfortunately had a traumatic experience as a 7 year old child. I seen my mother murdered. I would still be consuming unhealthy amounts of Anti Anxiety medicine that you can also die from if you have significant withdrawals. I proudly had wonderful MDMA experiences that have helped me deal with the PTSD associated with what I've seen. I also can count on both hands how many times I've used it, as it has done it's purpose. Adam, you're doing an amazing thing. Who cares what negative stigma is, you create a change! Thank you man :)

    • @buckemptier
      @buckemptier 7 лет назад +35

      Grammar Nazi Exactly. Anyway, the Mexican black market is nothing to base American laws on. They probably started growing more weed when alcohol became illegal. And nobody buys Mexican weed because its sucks, thats probably the real reason they increased heroin production.

    • @Th3Cr4k3r
      @Th3Cr4k3r 7 лет назад +11

      Blank Page Or because that profit from dem heroin junkies are like 1000-2000% more than weed.

    • @buckemptier
      @buckemptier 7 лет назад +4

      Gigz Done Gigz Done yea, for sure, you know what i mean.... that was obviously a typo, lol, meant to say they probably started growing more weed when alcohol became legal, lol.
      But yea, heroin has what they call an inelastic demand in economics - rather than the demand for heroin going down when the price goes up, as it happens with... well, as it happens with pretty much everything on the planet... instead, with heroin, the demand will remain more or less the same even as the price increases, because it happens to be the most addictive substance known to man.
      So no, i don't think that heroin sales really have any connection at all to the distribution of shitty Mexican weed, as GigsDone is also pointing out.
      As im sure everyone is on the edge of their seat and wanting to hear more about economics, (and BTW, my tendency to rant online is nearly inelastic, as it doesn't seem to be effected by the fact that I know no one is going to read it, lol), studies have shown that the War on Drugs increase the black market price of nearly all drugs, due to the scarcity it creates as the logistics of their distribution becomes more challenging and therefore costly for suppliers.
      And we all know what happens when the price that a product will sell for increases.... Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Ferris Beuller?...
      Supply increases as the distributors produce more, as they know the higher price means increased profits, thus a surplus occurs....
      Now, can anyone tell me what happens when a surplus occurs? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Ferris Beuller?... When a surplus occurs the market becomes flooded with the product, meaning MORE drugs are on the street as a result of the War on Drugs!
      And when the market becomes flooded, what happens... Anyone? Anyone?... The price decreases!
      And when the price decreases... MORE PEOPLE USE DRUGS! That's right, even with heroin, the decrease in the price will mean more people buy it, because demand for it is only inelastic with respect to a price INCREASE.
      So we can see, the War on Drugs contradicts its conceived purpose, or in other words.... well its like Deniro told his wife in Raging Bull, if you overcook the steak it defeats its own purpose! "
      Who says economics boring? Oh, right, i guess it is still boring, even if it has plenty of interesting applications, conceptually...fuck it, at least now everyone has a rock solid, scientific, peer reviewed argument against the War on Drugs.! So put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

      Blank Page Heroin isn't the most addictive substance, might be the substance you get the quickest withdrawls from, but try to kick your habbit from benzos when you're on 10-15mg xannies per day or 30-50mg valiums per day, that is a fucked withdrawl

    I'm so glad that you brought this topic up in one of your videos. I am a mother of two who has been through more than any normal person in the last two years most of which if I told you you would not even believe. Any way where I'm going with this is that I deal with so much on a daily basis and have been told multiple times after having spent an entire day with me, "woah, I do t know how you do it ." I can never answer that question because truthfully I partake in a substance which I will refrain from naming only because the stigma around it is so stereotypical and bad and I wouldn't get the benefit of the doubt from anyone if I did. When people find out what I do they want to make an example of me because I run my household and my kids are my number one priority and you wouldn't ever be able to tell that anything was out of the ordinary. The way people view you just because something is illegal somewhere or the stigma surrounding certain substances is socially unacceptable really takes a toll on me sometimes. But in truth if the government lifted bans on substances and made it okay or less terrible in the eyes of society I wouldn't be given such a hard time. It's definitely something I wish more people would think about so I really appreciate you speaking on this topic. And I NEVER EVER EVER leave comments on the Internet. Ever. So thank you.

    I can relate to that very well. I have recently started psychedelic channel in Poland and face similar issues, including a recent shit storm caused by an attempt to show the value of psychedelics during a family gathering. When you speak about your good days and bad days, I guess that the most important thing here to underline is that conflict is perhaps not an internal one. It's perhaps not your conscience telling you that you're doing something wrong, but a clash caused by general lack of awareness, openness and critical thinking in our society, whether it's Canada, Poland or any other country where people are involved in the discussion. Keep it up brother, we love you and appreciate you.

    I have only recently started watching your videos and they are really inspiring and eye opening. Coming from a town of less than 1500 people, you really don't hear anything aside drugs being these crazy, killer substances when ironically enough, this tiny town has four bars on one street and it's totally and completely accepted. The only "drug" related crimes committed include having trace sizes of weed on you but each week in the police reports, the majority of crimes and accidents involve drunk people. It's a crazy world but continue doing you, I feel like I needed to see this years ago.

If it were possible to push this substance would be a big step towards a society less closed in on itself and against progress and freedom.

      DiaveD Yes, some American states have that church problem too, not thay theres any particular reason religious people should hate weed, but they do, they hate anything thats fun. Personally i live in California, weed has beed decriminalized and sold in clubs here for over a decade. Even when possessed without a medical card the state wont pursue criminal charges for weed. But it will be another 20 years before the entire country goes legal. Why? Religious idiots, Republicans, etc.. You know, Trump voters.

    When strangers ask what you do just say like graphic or web design or something, I think that technically could apply.

    The theme of this video is why I love camping so much. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where you can just fuck off into the bush within a couple hours of home, and once you're there.. it's like you've left society behind. The only ones around to judge you or enforce the laws you mentioned are the people you're out there with, so you have an unprecedented amount of freedom in the context of exploring substances, and just life outside society in general. It really drives home the points you make about the invisible lines we draw.

    Hmm. This speaks to me on so many levels. I'm a crimnal, one of the best behaved you'd ever meet. I smoke my weed and drink my beer. Doesn't mean I'm off hurting people or really even committing crimes. But when you mentioned the alcohol withdraw, I kinda cracked. I've got myself in minor troubles over the years. As a result I can't smoke weed as much as I'd like. Now not saying that with weed by my side, everything would have been fine. But I do know that I can get away with drinking everyday. And I did. 5 years later, and just trying to get through the mandatory program, I've drank nearly every single day. A bottle of whiskey here, a couple beers there. I went through withdraws before and even walked myself down several times. But now, the way it sits, I'm having bouts of delerium, I shake, I've even had seizures in my sleep. I can hardly go 8 hours without a taste and not suffer from my illness. Alcohol is the hardest thing I've ever tried to control. First I have a drink, then the drink has a drink, then the drink has me. Funny how it's legal really... I'm a functional Alcoholic, can work, read, write, spell... Basically everything a normal person can do, but let 12 hours pass without a drink and see all of that quickly fade.

      Brage Johan I would not take any substance daily. It is a way that can lead to addiction very fast. I don't say that every kind of addiction totaly destroys someome's life but it has an impact which is negative in a lot of cases. It is less about that this kind of dann consume could not bring something kind of addiction but about changing the Stigma around addiction itself and seeing it in a differentiated. Someome who drinks a lot of Coffee could be correctly callled an addict too but we have to see that there are different kinds of addiction and not every kind is a total Bad thing.

      Tristan Boente Caffeine addiction isn't a good thing, its no different than any other addiction. You think that it isnt bad because it is socially accepted rather than stigmatized like other addictions. That way of thinking is a perfect example of exactly what he's talking about. A lot of people cant even work without drinking a couple of cups of coffee or more, ive known several people that drink several pots of coffee by themselves every day. They tend to be chain smokers as well, so caffeine is even a gateway drug, leading to more addictive substances. Some women will beat their kids if they dont have coffee. More people are addicted to caffeine in America than are addicted to heroin and cocaine combined.

    • @Duck-tm4bi
      @Duck-tm4bi 7 лет назад +1

      Blank Page I don't think, that the kind of addiction is just defined by the substance. But you can easyly be addicted to caffeine without it having such a bad impact on your life. Caffeine is very addictive but it won't destroy your life. I don't say that there is a fundamental difference between caffeine addiction and any other addiction. I just don't think that it has a high potential to totaly destroy someome's life. Partly because other highly addictive substances are, thank to the damned prohibition, just not as easy and cheap to get. But it is because of the kind of effects caffeine has too. You just can not say that someome who drinks 2 cups of Coffee has an equaly dangerous drug problem as somebody who drinks a few bottles of liquor or uses heroin dayly.

    Hey Adam! First I have to say that I'm really admiring you and your 2 channels and how you are speaking from your heart and sincerely!
    About this video, as you say that alcohol is the most damaging substance on Earth according to your statistics as you mentioned in the video, I have to say that I don't agree with you about this because you have to think about that if other harmful drugs such as cocaine or heroine would be legal, of course the statistics will be absolutely different, so it's just because it is legal, so a lot of people have access to it.

    • @someone.who.is.me.
      @someone.who.is.me.  7 лет назад +10

      I disagree. There are only 3 drug classes that are dangerous enough, and physically addictive enough, that the withdrawals from stopping cold turkey can kill you. Those drugs are Alcohol, Benzodiazepines, and Opiates. Alcohol can be bought, and the other two are commonly prescribed by all doctors making them some of the easiest drugs for anyone to obtain. And subsequently, die from.

    • @aqslayer19
      @aqslayer19 7 лет назад

      Hey Adam. IF heroin and benzo was considered as normal as drinking alcohol, do you think it would kill as many people or more people than alcohol kills?

    • @shivertalks1691
      @shivertalks1691 7 лет назад +2

      If they where legal like alcohol first of the stuff would be cleaner.
      Second I think, when it is legal there will be education going along with it, as well as more and better trained rehabilitation offers.
      So my conclusion is, that less people would die from benzos ir opiates

    • @haxel96
      @haxel96 7 лет назад

      +Plinkin Lark If Opiates were legal you would know how pure your heroin was, and so if you had some interest in doing it you'd be able to dose properly. Overdoses would be suicide or natural selection doing its job. Currently people die from heroine because it might be impure, be cut with something else more potent but cheaper, if it even contains any heroine at all.

    • @Pituzer
      @Pituzer 7 лет назад

      But also; if taking those drugs would be seen as "normal", then people would be more likely to casually take it and overdose on it, the same way people commonly misuse alcohol.
