    Before anyone jumps to conclusions based off the title alone - remember it's all about femininity VS masculinity and which traits fair better during a trip. It doesn't really matter what gender you are. What matters is what type of balance you are at or how adaptable you are. Gender has very, very little to do with it. Regardless, I'm sure this type of video will "trigger" some people. But I don't make content just to please everyone. I make content that I believe will be helpful! If this video triggers you, it's usually a sign to take a closer look as to why you reacted emotionally.
    And finally, I'd like to add that I could have gone so much deeper here. I could have presented a counter-argument for why Men can be better at tripping (future video?). Because the reality is most of the reasons I believe men have it harder are thanks to societal norms - traits which have been learned consciously and subconsciously from an unhealthy world, which has nothing to do with physical gender differences.
    EDIT - Changed title so it's more of a question. I think it works better this way.

      Thelgors20 "Women are weak, so they find it easier to let go" - *No. You clearly missed the entire video. Letting go takes incredible strength. I'm not even going to comment further on what you said.

      Speaking of energy, have you ever worked with crystals/tektites, specifically moldavite? And if so can you make a video someday on your experiences with them?

      is it possible, that in some cases, a wrong (someone with "male energies") tripsitter can prevent one from therapeutic, healing insights or experiences?

    • @SirEricofAwesome
      @SirEricofAwesome 6 лет назад +5

      hey if you’re referring to masculine or feminine energy, gender is the right word to use. sex refers to biologically male or female. this is why a biological male can identify as a woman. So it is a bit confusing when you say gender does not determine how well a person fairs in a trip, not trying to be “political” but these are the definitions that are being used now so just thought i’d clear that up

    Man, I feel like I have to write you a little love letter here. Considering the Intensity of psychedelic experiences, at 17 I'm probably a bit young to start to make my own, but some of the realizations I've had during my first shroom experience two months ago gave me such a different, profound perspective on how I view(ed) myself and others, I've been a completely different person ever since. Before, I was in a constant state of self loathing for what felt like not living up to the potential people seem to see in me, procrastinating all day and simultaneously looking down on others for no reason. I was, and in many ways still am, an arrogant dickhead. With your Videos, and more importantly with the kind of world view/philosophy you convey, you've seriously motivated me to change myself, and I can't thank you enough for that. Lots of love.

    "It's like having less anxiety doesn't come out of more control in your life, the true key to anxiety is understanding that you are not in control and you've never been in control[..]because all you do really have power over is your sense of needing to control things"... Bro... This is the biggest truth that lets me come out of my anxiety disorder right now. I was always in the need of control of everything, until I lost control over my own mind. 6 months after, just before seeing this video, I understood that I will never feel better or less scared if I won't just let go and say "f*ck it all". Worked, no panic attacks for 3 weeks already. Thank you for sharing this info

      After extensive ego killing, it feels really weird to see people acting hard and egoistically. It just diatracts me from their words, because all I think is "wow... can't this dude see he's a living illusion". I can't really explain it, but it feels like I can "see" their trueself behind the persona and ideas planted in their brains. Weird things..

    "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." - H. P. Lovecraft

    Adam, this video made me cry. You are so wise and I love hearing your thoughts. I have dealt with extreme anxiety my entire life due to abuse I faced as a child and teen. Many times, it has inhibited me from experiencing my life. Psychedelics have significantly helped me come to terms with many of the things I have anxiety about and just my anxiety itself. All I needed to do was to "let go" and I feel like my life has been forever changed! I realize that I will always have anxiety and fears about certain things. I can't control the world, I can't control when I die or get sick, but I do have control of how I experience the world and live my life as a conscious being. That realization has helped me gain my life back. Thank you for this important video! I always love when you post :) Happy holidays!

      Gage The Navigator more like infinitely larger, society as it is right now is declining as violence between humans creates violence against the rest of life in the world, the world we depend on for our own existence, and one that will shake us off in a mass extinction if we push things too far. We need ecology, peace, and true egalitarianism.

    I've tripped on lsd 6 times and shrooms once and every trip was great except for the trips ive had with competitive males, for some reason they turn the trip into a competition of who can stay sane for the duration of the trip and if you let the trip take over at all they take full advantage and act like you're bad at tripping and that the correct way to trip is to act in a normal state of mind the whole time. Anyone else notice this. Tripping either with true friends or your gf is the best way. Also i feel like tripping with your friends is a sure way of figuring out whether theyre truly on your side

    This makes a lot of sense after you had a strong psychedelic experience. I took a strong ayahuasca dose a few months ago; not knowing a lot about the actual feeling of ego death, and it was terriffing at first, but luckily I had a friend guiding me and he was constantly telling me to relax and that it was all fine, so I did and I had the most crazy, somethimes scary, illuminatting, colorfull, psychedelic experience I´ve had in my life. So I´ll recommend to have someone (sober) you trust while you´re doing it.

    Speaking from personal experience, feminine energy can be a lifesaver during intense psychedelic, or even difficult emotional, experiences. There is a reason why we identify nature as female, i.e. "mother nature". She is the mother of all life as we know it, a universal nurturer and a reliable source of comfort. My spiritual guide is most definitely female and she has saved my ass on many occasions, both in and out of the psychedelic experience. Macho men who can't ever let go of their addiction to control often suffer the most in life because they are unwilling to accept that there may be something greater out there than themselves. Relinquishing total control can be an extremely freeing thing. Everyone needs a lap to lay their head in sometimes and have their head stroked by a motherly figure. This is where we heal and grow as human beings. Using this type of mental imagery has allowed me to overcome some very difficult times in my life. Much love in 2018!

      I was just about to ask the question! I've had a few trips but I've never been able to let go in any of them and I have this bad habit of day dreaming too much. I started reading 'The Power of Now' and I've found it really useful, I've been trying to put it to practice (observing your thoughts etc). It has really helped me with my day dreaming problem, but I still couldn't let go during my last trip. I would love a video from you specifically about letting go :) your previous videos have been extremely useful, especially for post-trip work. Thank you Adam and have a lovely new year!

    • @ArjanSangraa

      I don't know how much research you've done into meditating, but the feelings of letting go/acceptance are associated with your self expression or throat chakra so maybe try looking into throat chakra healing. If you've ever had the top of your back or neck ache during an acid trip, it actually turns out it's all the anxious and negative feelings you associate about yourself manifesting in your throat chakra.
      I'm still trying to get over my issues with letting go as well, for me it's mainly to do with self-acceptance, particularly when it comes to relationships with other people. I hope you this helps you dude :)

    • @alien_trashpanda
      @alien_trashpanda 6 лет назад +4

      I personally believe that a lot of times people who have a hard time "letting go" are people who are afraid to lose their mind (go insane, so to speak). I have never really had a fear of losing my mind and on the same token have no issues "letting go" during a trip. But considering there isnt much scientific evidence to go on here, its pretty much just speculation at this point. :)

    There definitely needs to be a balance of energies in order to have a good trip. During my first trip, I had to channel my masculine energy when I turned the lights off in my room and started convincing myself that the shadows were creatures coming to get me. I turned my panic off, and turned the lights back on. On the flip side, I channeled my feminine energy and surrendered to the crazy thought processes that were happening for the 12 hours, in addition to the strange sensations.

    Maybe that's why I thought my experience with ego death was beautiful and not terrifying. Like a lot of male references to ego death are like, "it feels like you're dying," or, "it's really a challenging feeling and can be quite scary." I just kind of melted into a kaleidoscope of all that is. I ceased to exist and became we. I thought it was lovely. It felt like what once was me was intimately intertwined in the universe and it felt so...warm and reassuring.

    I've had about 20 shroom and 15ish acid trips (some of them really high doses) and not a single one of them I would consider or label a bad trip. Sure there were a couple of moments where I felt uncomfortable but I always quickly snapped out of those through controlled breathing.
    The thing is, I don't consider myself (or rather i don't feel like) having more feminine than masculine energy. On the other hand, I really only started discovering my true masculinity after my first acid trip. I kinda always was a calm, grounded kind of dude, and I've really never had any fear of not coming down from a trip, that probably played a huge role aswell.
    Interesting theory, but ultimately I think it depends more on your overall personality and character traits than merely on having more masculine or feminine energy.
    regardless, awesome video as always (:

      Interestingly enough, I used to have major social anxiety prior to discovering psychedelics. It's way better now, although there are some situations where I still get thrown back to that state. But yea, somehow I never was afraid of tripping, on the contrary, I wanted to explore and discover how far I could push it with those substances because I always felt like there is so much knowledge to be gained.

    • @fromtheh3158
      @fromtheh3158 6 лет назад +1

      muds0r Eh, to a certain degree the knowledge is beyond your understanding and should be pursued at your own risk. Its not like you can take any of it back with you to the real world. But ive had the best and worst of times on psychedelics and i have no regrets about taking them in the past. I dont really have time for them anymore but i still try to make time. It really depends on the day, some days my pre trip anxiety is terrible. Other days its a form of excitement to trip again. It just needs to line up.

    Beautifully said. The first time I went through an ego death it felt like a warm blanket and I laid back in my chair and closed my eyes, it was scary but went off totally frictionless, like "this is what happens", and it was fantastic. The hands twitched a bit, fighting it, and then were still. I felt like I was standing over myself metaphorically, and caressing my forehead, like you would a pet being laid to rest. One of the most awe-inspiring feelings of my life.

    Growing up in Poland which is a really conservative christian country with strong pressure on guys being masculine I can now understand the cause of my few bad trips but I never would have thought of it this way and that it has a influence on a trip. It's just ingrained in our culture and I along with majority of people have accepted it from the youngest age.
    *sidenote I'm not saying that society's emphasis on gender roles is good or bad (to a reasonable extent though), I'm just acknowledging them.

    I'm a cis f feminist (don't get scared) + I completely agree with this! I have thought this myself but have never been able to put it into words to make it more comprehensible and you uploading this video helped immensely! Thank you so much for yet another fantastic video and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! XXXXXXX p.s I really like that you saying that being able to release and surrender is brave because you are so right, it's so hard to let yourself lose control, but it makes sense when you hear it phrased this way. I was in an abusive relationship with my ex so I was used to surrendering. I also now am in a (very healthy) relationship that includes many aspects of BDSM (TMI I know but I have a point I swear) and yes I can be in control but most of the time I'm the one being controlled (consensually ofc) which has also taught me to allow myself to submit and be controlled, which helps with edibles for example where you need to allow the drug to control you!

      Thanks for your comment Miranda, I can definitely agree about edibles. Those can be intense! And I'm sorry to hear about your past, so many of us have found ourselves in abusive relationships at one point or another. Be it physically or emotionally... or both. But it sounds like you used it as a learning experience which is the best way to go. We can learn so much about ourselves on a deep level after enduring such experiences. I know I have! I'm happy to hear it lead you into something healthier :)

    Here's my experience with women tripping:They aren't better are tripping they just have different things that will give them anxiety to cause a bad trip. Like most guys I've seen have a bad trip thought something evil was there to get them, or that they were dying, or just got really aggressive. The only girls I've seen start to have a bad trip was from social anxiety. Freaking out over things like relationship or friendship drama. IDK maybe it's just because guys tend to have a more primal and testosterone fueled fight or flight nature and are worried about different kinds of things than girls. That's just my take on things.

  • @lordoftheskin
    @lordoftheskin 6 лет назад +1

    In my friend circle, I think like 3 girls have done acid and maybe about 10 of us guys have done it? 2 out of the 3 girls had bad trips and freaked out. While out of the guys, I'm the only one to ever have a bad trip once out of the 7 times I've done it because the set and setting was terrible and I did a high dose. Girls are more caring and loving I've observed but when you care, you also worry and anybody who's done acid knows that one little worry can multiply into something terrifying and spiral out of control. I agree with the point about feminine energy but there's so much that goes on inside the mind, it's hard to notice trends since everyone thinks about things differently

    Maybe that's why I freak out sometimes when I smoke, I feel I have more masculine energy. I was raised by a single mom so she was in a way my dad so I grew up trying to have that same energy you know. You always teach me things about life I love you dude

    I really enjoyed your off topic subjects in this video. Would be super legit if you just dedicated some time to making more and more videos about mental health, and your experiences/ advice on how you went about cooping with your own issues.
    As someone with ADD, and similar insecurities, and issues, I really find your shit pretty informative! I also find myself being in relationships with women, that have similar issues.... depression, anxiety, unsure of them selves, insecure, caring about what others think (a little to much), the list goes on.
    Learning how to better deal with those issues is extremely interesting to me! Anyways keep on sticking to the grind man, I hope you get the recognition you deserve! Hope you have a badass day!

    I agree with you. I am a male but always felt like my energy was more feminine. So because of that, I always thought that was the reason why my trips turn out so blissful and great. I am always the one looking after my friends when they lose their minds on some trips and I never understand where it goes wrong for them. It would make sense if the case were that they have problems with letting go. I never had any issues letting go and I can't say I have had a bad trip.

    I find it interesting the way I trip. I completely let go of forcing it where I want it to go, yet I somehow am able to manipulate where the 'entity' wants it to go, almost as though I'm granted the rank of advisor to the 'host' of my own trip.

    I was raised a Christian and struggled to let go because of the belief of "hell", but now after a certain experience of LSD after balling my eyes out and just finally "giving up" has my anxiety finally gone and FUCKING thank GOD!!! Now I can see what these spiritual teachers such as Jesus Christ talks about when talking about forgiveness, not just forgiving others but also giving up control and forgiving myself. Everyday since has been rewarding in it's own right.

    I'd love if someone would spend a few moments to answer my question. So, you talk often about letting go and just breath through it. I've tried to follow this formula but for some reason the "experience" keeps telling me that focusing on your breath is actually trying to stay in control. I found often myself completely committed "take my ego, take my body I don't care i'm fully yours". Still I keep getting "caught" to the "experience" for the whole breathing thing. Any advice?

    Adam! Talk about some residual effects from usage. Topics revolving around a "never ending trip." I know for myself I was scared seeing that reality looked a little trippy after one of my LSD trips. Could you please do this! In the name of safety, someone with a mindset that they're stuck in a trip might stumble upon that video and have a huge relief.

    So I guess I might be having a breakdown because I don't want that anxiety all my life. It's a terrible feeling that it feels like I can't overcome. Why live if I feel that way? Like whats the point of living if I turn out to be one of those people who can never have a good trip because of my anxiety or need of control. If I am physically strong doesn't that mean I am/was always weak? :/
    (Sorry for the rant)

    This is my theory of the universe: there are only two forces - positive and negative or masculine and feminine, whatever you want to call them. Yin and yang. You can't have one without the other. You see this balance in all things aesthetic (it's called the Fibonacci sequence) and it's in all musical ratios, artistic ratios, and also in nature. Everything in life (I mean everything) is a balance between this positive and negative energy.

    well sometimes MDMA gets too intense (and also dark ) for them. also anxious/ "weak" women can get very OCD in trips. in all cases they are the best at letting go until they arent (any more) ... and that can go south crazy fast.

    All diseases have cures = Nature and Mindfulness is easier than meditation because it in itself is a form of meditation.
    Mindfulness is basically doing something that requires you to focus on one thing at a time like, art, music, dancing, gardening or other forms of working with nature, walks without your smartphone just witnessing the present moment and being with it. The more you do this the less random thoughts from your subconscious arise. In most cases we think too much because we use social media and watch TV or stick our heads in devices showing us far 2 many things that 1 person should be thinking. The subconscious picks up EVERYTHING. Spend a week without TV/Smart phones and go somewhere out in nature and your mind becomes crystal clear and your awareness will be evolved.

    The importance of what he mentions with everything not being black and white is such a keystone to letting go.
    people in fear of losing control often warp what it is that you are saying into either black or white to keep their illusion of control. We all know someone that does this.

    I have always wondered if u just do these videos for getting more people to watch you or do you really want something good to be happen for people. Now I think I was wrong when I doubt your honesty.
    Yea so wow you just described perfectly what I felt during dissociative psychosis caused by continuous triggering for childhood trauma. How it is to lose everything. And I think the key point is love. If you dont have it with you there, its going to be disaster, like I had during lots of pain caused by this trauma. It was complete nightmare. But after couple years and taking mushrooms I realized its not that bad, because I already felt good with those drugs. Its not what you see, its about your feeling during the trip. In long rung its about how u can respond to your memories and difficult feelings, how much u can take pain and clean it with believe and love. And so on....
    Its fucking difficult without love.
    And I like very much how you describe weakness and being strong!

    Accepting that we are all one is also accepting that assigning "feminine" and "masculine" to various personality traits is all a social construct and totally depends on how you're raised to believe. A lot of sexist crap would go away if people stopped feeling the need to putting whatever they deem feminine in one box and masculine in another box and just let people be people, however they decide expresses their true self.
