I've flown Frontier from San Jose CA to Las Vegas with a small carry on ( summer time, so only small, lightweight clothes ). I took my own snacks and water. It was a good price and just fine for a quick trip.

You're right! Some of the friends I travelled with had their food in a separate plastic bag and no one questioned it. I just put mine in the one bag because there was room and out of convenience to carry just one thing.

Frontier and Spirit are designed to save the customer money and get you to your destination alive and well. The problem is many people do not read the fine print and get caught off guard then say I am never flying this airline again but again those are people who do not study how the airline works. I fly both airlines all the time and have been all over the country for cheap. Why pay more just to say I am on Delta? End of the day the goal is to arrive alive

@@babetravelling I think they're okay, I guess the only thing I would give it a poor rating is the gating process and the lack of seating space/comfort. When I board a plane and don't like the seating space I ask the flight attendant "can I switch seats, I am willing to take the emergency exit seat" More often than not they say yes, "you look like a strong man that could help us in the case of an emergency" I say yes, for sure!

Orange County Airport is closer to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. My coworker uses this airport when he goes visits his sister as she lives out there. United operates nonstop flights to Orange County from Newark Liberty (Outside of New York City). Orange County is one of the alternative airports to LAX.

I strongly suggest avoiding Frontier because they've made many moves that are openly hostile to flyers with hidden disabilities. First, you can't talk with them on the phone anymore - you have to use a web chat app with a bot that does its best to keep you away from live agents, which presents an issue for blind flyers. Second, they charge you $25 for agent assistance at check in - having to tag my own checked bag is one of my anxiety triggers, and while they're technically supposed to waive the fee for those with disabilities, trying to convince an agent you have a qualifying hidden disability is likely a tall order (in addition to having to out yourself to them). Not to mention an absolutely asinine $5 fee for checking in online on the website instead of the app.
If you do choose to fly Frontier (or Spirit, which treats flyers with disabilities way better), buy your ticket in person at the airport. If you buy online and take a careful look at the taxes and fees, you'll see a $23 charge for booking online, each way per person - you avoid this by buying in person.
By the way, I'd like to see a video on how it's like taking the train between San Diego and LA using the current rail replacement buses between Irvine and Oceanside - I've taken the bus replacement service during past closures and I'd want someone experienced to vlog it for posterity once the line gets fixed (rather soon, given that 2 out of 5 current services don't require replacement buses).

    • @babetravelling
