@reese True but after all these deaths can you imagine how much it affected Harry’s life later on cuz No one was ever able to convince him that everyone that has died was not because of him .
Yea but the author killed like toooo many ppl like tooo many well i think moreee of the death eaters should have been defeated by most insignificant characters in the movie to show their part equally tho
The reason I always thought that Lupin would have died is because JK Rowling wanted the 4 marauders to die for harry. James and Sirius died to protect him. Peter died because he showed Harry mercy, and Lupin died fighting for Harry.
I know it's war and people die, but we didn't need them both to go. Andromeda Tonks suffered more than other character in the final book, losing her husband, daughter, and son-in-law in the course of a few months. And if ANYONE deserved a happy ending, it was Remus, after all life had dealt him. I wanted to see him kill Greyback, to be honest. I remember when I got to that part of the book I literally threw it against the wall and let out a nice string of curses that would've put the most drunken sailor to shame.
Definitely and would be probably an icon for werewolf rights saying not only did this werewolf fought in the war and protected Harry Potter but is helping students be better for their future and is an amazing person
Oh god he would have wouldn't he, he was the best defense against the dark Arts teacher ever, but nope JK Rolling had to kill two more beautiful soles 😭.
Her loyalty would have never let her stay behind it’s not in her nature, as a auror or a Hufflepuff. Her defensive charter showed her heart was really true and unafraid of toil.
I know she loved her child but the cause she fought for was much bigger than herself or her family. It’s something she believed in and was willing to sacrifice for.
Taylor Hagen are you nuts ? Arthur was the better man of the two. Never looked down on muggles, he and molly were friends to Hermione parents , raised great children (that includes Percy).
Rowling said that as Arthur survived Lupin died and I think this was a wrong way of justifying her mistake. I think it would have shown if the only Marauder who wasn’t a bully and wasn’t a traitor and who worked extremely hard in extreme circumstances (being a werewolf) survived that if you try to be your best version of yourself and really try (not saying Sirius and James were bad and I know they siriusly (sorry) matured, they weren’t the best people however.
Clearly, you aren't real fans..what she said is "I planned on killing Arthur Weasley in Order of the Phoenix, but swapped him for Sirius Black." she went on to say that she became very close to Arthur, the way that Harry was close to Dumbledore.
Yes I agree with you. I think that Lupin needed Tonks in his life because she accepted him for who and what he was. And their son needed a parental figure. parental figure.
Ryan Lee ahhh but Teddy is exactly WHY they died. To bring things full circle. The first war ended with a child left parentless (Harry) and so did the second (Teddy)
After all those years I'm still heartbroken every day that both Lupin and Tonks died. They were my favourite characters and the best ship in the whole series. Tonk fought to make Lupin realise he was worth of love! And let's not start about poor Teddy. At least he had his grandmother who was such an amazing and loving character!!
My faves too REMADORA FOR LIFE (that's their ship name) Also it's very possible Lupin was depressed, it fits in a really sad kind of way :'( Edit: I hate Bellatrix and Dolohov
I think if they had made that, I would lock myself in my room and never come out. I would cry. I could not watch them die. That was not meant to rhyme. You know what I mean.
I always felt that Lupin's death was Rowling's way for punishing him for even THINKING about abandoning Tonks and his unborn child. Once Harry rightfully calls him out on this, Lupin returns to Tonks, where he becomes a devoted father to little Teddy. Unfortunately, this union is short-lived, and seems needlessly cruel towards both Lupin and Tonks, as just when he's gotten over his fear of not being good enough for her, he's unceremoniously killed off. 😥
That idea is kind of stupid of Rowling when you think of it; everyone has thoughts a lot darker than that, why punish them with death? Seems a bit odd...
Lupine is my favorite professor, his struggle with Lycanthropy parallels my struggle with Autism and wolves are one of my favorite animals, as - to them - family comes first...
People with autism are seriously underestimated, they're capable of just as much if not more, and I agree, Lupin is the best, and I'd do anything for my family, so I also really like wolves
I think Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa should have died as it would make draco finally understand what it's like to be Harry. It also would have made more sense when it comes to the whole situation of the malfoys becoming pro muggleborn after the war. It would have been better for them to pass rather than Remus and Tonks.
This is quite vindictive… death is impartial and doesnt just pick ‘bad ppl’ to die and ‘good ppl’ to live. You might as well be upset that Harry’s parents should have lived and Voldemort shouldve died… Honestly it’s great seeing the Malfoy arc come around from their prejudices and hurt towards ‘unworthy’ humans to realizing they can be accepted too if they change. I think they did, and honestly that’s worth seeing in people, and giving them grace for the ability to change for the better.
I dossagree. Lucius maybe but Narcissa dying right after her small redemption which was basicly her denying dark side for her family it just wouldn't make sense that she died.
Good thoughts... however I would say it’s a taste of realism, because life does sometimes gives us a crap hand. I say this having had lost my dad when he was just over forty, and he was one of the most amazing people. So, yeah... it sucks and they could have had an amazing future... but what is there to be learned of this, and what can we apply to our lives... don’t devalue yourself, don’t walk away from your responsibilities, and love fiercely... because any day may be our last... Anyway! I love how much heart you put into your videos! Keep it up, and Merry Christmas!
It’s videos like yours why I wish there’s a Harry Potter tv series, that can include moments that the movies couldn’t include from the books. And I agree with you. All the deaths already was over whelming. I’m not against the idea why these 2 died, but I feel if their deaths were kept some others should have been kept alive.
I totally agree that someone needs to make a TV series. Whenever I'm rereading the books, I imagine all the scenes they could put in that the movies, for whatever reason, could not do. I doubt we will see this come to be for many years but hopefully someday.
I think an animated series based on the illustrations in the books would be best. 1 You don't need to worry about child actors aging. 2 You don't need to have voice actors match the race of the characters because you don't actually see the actors, you just hear their voices. 3 If a voice actor dies or gets fired you can easily replace them.
I so agree with this video! I never accepted why they died. I’m not sure why writers in general think they need to kill off so many characters in stories. Maybe because I lost so many people when growing up I don’t like these moments in stories at all! Merry Christmas!!! 🎁🎄
Just from the perspective of storyline flow I always felt like their deaths were shoehorned in. While other main character deaths might have been shocking and heartbreaking, they felt as though they fit within the main story arc and flowed naturally from the events unfolding within that arc. Where as Tonks and Lupin felt very much like "oh yeah and they're dead too btw" to me.
I know there's supposed to be a parallel between Lily and James dying and making Harry an orphan and Remus and Tonks leaving their son an orphan.. but I feel like it would have had a much larger emotional impact to leave them both alive. It was a huge misstep. It could have really given a message of hope and it would have been SO INCREDIBLY SATISFYING.
I agree 100%. Her reason to kill them off felt really weak. It definitely packed an emotional wollop since we loved Lupin and Tonks, but I agree with where you stand on this one.
I think, at the very least, Remus should have died. The main six characters all are reflections of characters from the Mauraders era. (Harry is James, Ron is Sirius, Hermione is Lupin, Neville is Peter, Ginny is Lily, andLuna is Snape.) They are correcting the mistakes that were made by the Mauraders. And it’s only a fitting conclusion for the main six to survive and the Mauraders six to die because of their choices.
Trisha Reddy that’s a poetic observation but I don’t agree with all your statements . What mistakes Lily did to make Ginny corrects them? And yes , Neville mirrors Peter but the other example don’t convince me ...( I’m sorry if that sound wrong , English is not my first language x)
Fridhild Lily is the exception. Harry matches with James, as they are both the popular Gryffindor Quidditch players. James died because of his childhood arrogance. His bullying of Snape led Snape to reveal the prophecy to Voldemort. Ron and Sirius both want to stand out from their families. Sirius, however, often takes things too far and doesn’t listen to anyone else. His death was because his desire to stand apart from his family led to his undeserved hatred towards Kreacher, who reciprocated. He didn’t listen to Dumbledore’s warnings, and such, died. Hermione and Lupin are both the responsible ones who are discriminated for who they are, though Hermione to a much lesser extent. Lupin lets this get to him and he lives his life in shame. He could never live the life he wanted. And of course, Neville was what Peter could have been. Peter could have prevented his death if he had only been a little more brave. Luna and Snape were both bullied by other students. While Luna let it slide and didn’t let it affect her, Snape let it become his identity. And because of how much he let it get to him, he joins the dark lord and gets himself killed.
I agree with you ! If Remus has survived the war the opinion about werewolves would drastically change since he would be awarded the order of Merlin title. Just imagine all werewolves ( children and adults) look up at Remus and be proud of themselves despite their condition ! Plus he deserves an happy ending , I mean , all his life he suffered ... like give the man a break XD
I'm really glad she didnt. Ron is one of my favorite characters. Harry and Ron have a serious bromance. Harry would be devastated beyond belief. Ron also helps carry the story along and gives Harry a reason to keep going. If she did kill Ron I feel like people would stop reading. I know I would. There would a very big hole to fill.
In the movie and to those who have only watched them rather than read the books, I feel like that wouldn't have been so terribly awful, because the movies kinda ruined him, but in the books, so many people would probably be crying their eyes out over that chapter. But to anyone who hates him, there is something Siriusly Ron with you, and you are just Riddikulus. I couldn't resist.
I picture Andromeda Tonks and Augusta Longbottom sitting down for tea and having a very long series of discussions, while little Teddy plays across the room. These two amazing women would have so much to talk about and I think Andromeda would benefit from Augusta's experience and wisdom from raising Neville.
I wonder which is better in the long run for Teddy Lupin, for his grandmother, Andromeda Tonks to raise him alone, Like Neville's grandmother raised him, OR to let Harry's family raise him like they offered to do? Also, why did they put pillows under their heads in the Great Hall? They were dead, Comfort would be a low priority for them
This also reflects life. By my senior year in highschool I lost 8 family members and very close friends. Life is not fair. You don't get every happy ending. Especially during war.
@@trinaq Don't get me started on how angry I am with how the films treated their relationship. In Order, they don't say a word to each other. In HBP, suddenly they're together and she's calling him "sweetheart". Then in Deathly Hallows suddenly they're married and expecting a child, who we never get to see and is only mentioned in one scene. All the amazing drama centered around their relationship was completely lost. If anyone deserved a happily ever after, it was them.
Talking about PTSD:"Here Harry! Look at this child( Teddy) and remember every day how much you suffered and will suffer forever , living without parents!"🙄
The death of Remus & Tonks (especially Tonks) at the end of the ‘Harry Potter’ series hit me the hardest, next to Sirius’s death as well. In fact, regardless of how J.K Rowling felt & imagined, it was the one decision in the books (in addition to the films) that I hated she made. Both Tonks & Remus are awesome characters with stories of their own tell in the books before they formed a relationship that, while good, consisted of many differences/complications that struggled to find steady ground. With Remus being a werewolf who refused to find any form of happiness with someone, and Tonks being drawn to Remus and the main one to push for a relationship with him despite a remarkable age difference, both were such different people who managed to come together in the end and even have a son who turned out to be a metamorphmagus like his mother. So, for the author to kill off both characters like that when the war was just about won and effectively orphaning their newborn son, it was like she created Harry’s upbringing all over again when no one should have to grow up without their parents. In addition, with Tonk’s family impacted during the war, I could only imagine how painful it was for Andromeda Tonks to cope with loss of her husband (Ted Tonks) and daughter, while raising her grandson with Harry’s help. So yeah, even though it was author’s decision given how dark the story was at times, killing off Remus & Tonks in the end was a bad/poor decision that had a detrimental effect impacting the story and it’s characters after everything was over.
Given everything you said about the potential happy future of Lupin and Tonks is what makes this a tragedy. Tragedies aren't supposed to make the reader feel happy. I wished they would have lived too, but JK wanted a tragedy and that's what we got. I think it works better as written anyway because it shows the incredible toll it took on the wizarding world to defeat Voldemort. War is terrible and losing those we care about hopefully makes us think twice about going to war again. But if war is ever necessary we'll hopefully know the potential costs. Again, I didn't want Tonks and Lupin to die either, but I think JK's story was hers to tell and that's how she chose to tell it. Besides, even if she had regrets about killing them off it's not likely she's going to try and retcon them back to like or anything.
B Sharp completely agree with you! If the main conflict within a story doesn’t have major consequences (especially to the protagonist) then what was being fought over feels cheap or not as realistic. War has consequences and we are told many times in the earlier books that the first war against Voldemort was horrible and that we couldn’t even understand it. By killing so many characters we DO understand it. I think we (not Harry) but we, the readers had to have nearly every father figure to Harry killed off. It makes a bigger impression. If there had been a happy ending with less painful deaths it wouldn’t have felt so impactful or realistic.
Tonks is my favourite character for many reasons, and I really think she didn't deserve to die. She was an amazing person and I cry at her death every time 😞
At least Teddy grew up with a happy family and he didn't grow up abused like Harry. He grew up with his grandmother and godfather, surrounded by his god family. He grew up feeling loved, spoiled by his godfather and cared by his grandmother. I'm also sure that Ginny would have taken the role as a godmother. He also probably grew up hearing stories about his parent, something that Harry didn't have, because everyone who knew his parents were dead. So even though he was an orphan, I'm sure he grew up the way Tonks and Lupin would have wanted him to be raised, unlike what happened to Harry. It was so heartbreaking that both of them never got to live the life together with their son they should have had :'(
Dude, authors should not make heavy choices on important books when they are depressed or pissed off. Honestly, if I were writting something this important I'd make the choice then wait a few days/week to see if I still felt the same way. It's how I pick my tattoos. If I really love something I'll wait a whole year or 1/2 a year to see if I still feel the same.
I always felt she killed Remus for the scene in the forest with the resurrection stone. It reunited the marauders and made that scene much more of a punch in the gut to me. The 4 people who loved him most, the four people who had died to protect him being with him at that most difficult moment.
The main problem with that paralel is that we never get to see it. We never hear Harry being an actual father figure to Teddy, he wasn't even a character in the cursed child and harry didn't adopt him either so we never really see that paralel actually lead to anything besides a heartbreaking moment when Lupin and Tonks die.
Only justice I see in Remus and Tonk's deaths are: They died knowing there son will grow up in a world without fear, without fearing death, with Teddy waking up next morning without death and fear knocking on their son's door he live a life without fearing someone he loves suffering the same fates as his parents and those who fought along with them. Teddy will grow up in a loving environment, surrounded by people who will love and care for him, he will grow up to have a happy childhood most magical children his age and not have grow up in the same toxic life Harry had to endure for the past 10 years, despite never knowing Remus and Tonks physically the stories of their bravery and heroism will be a part of Teddy's memories as he grows up, which I know will overweight the fact they left him so early in life. I know another life will have a mirror as Harry's life had but I know Harry will ensure that Teddy will not share the burdens he had in life, he will grow up happy and love and not have same toxic life he had with those (excuse my language) filthy muggles!
As much as I liked both characters, I think their deaths are demonstrative of war. War doesn't discriminate, war also doesn't affect families equally. If I could make it so Colin creevy was alive I would, but war affects the young too
You know what, I'm just gonna take the time to say how I appreciate the way you mention to donate only if you can afford it. Nobody else ever says that but it is so real and down to earth that it actually makes me want to donate when I get my finances straight. Struggling with near-poverty this is very lovely and reassuring to hear. Good luck to you in all your endeavours.
I remember that I stoped reading the book for 2 weeks after I reached this scene... Lupin and Tonks were such a great couple and I feel that the story could have a complete circle if they survived throughout hardship and dark times and stand at the end... It would not have been a forced parallel but an opposite to the life harry had to life and it would have been so fulfilling. At least that is my opinion.
I really wish they had survived. If any character in the entire series deserved happiness it would have to be Remus because he had suffered so much since he was 5 and all the way up until his death. I understand the J.K. Rowling wanted to have a parallel with Teddy and Harry but I agree with Dean saying it was quite forced. There could probably have been other ways to parallel Harry and Teddy’s story like going to Hogwarts with people still healing from the war and remembering their parents fighting in it. Another way could be the fact that being the son of two Order of The Phoenix members; one an auror (probably higher ranked when he goes to Hogwarts) and the other the first werewolf to ever receive an Order of Merlin would make Teddy quite well known and have to deal with that sort of fame. It would have also be interesting if just one of the two survived. We don’t see any single parents in the Harry Potter series (unless you count Dean Thomas’ mother but we never meet her and she is only mentioned a couple of times in the series) this would have been a great opportunity to display a parent who must grieve for their loved one while having to raise a child. Another thought I had was that Tonks, Remus, Teddy And Harry could show us what Harry’s life could have been. Two parents who fought in a war with a godfather who They are very close too and not to mention other friends can be seen as a life that Harry never got with Lily and James who fought in the first wizarding war, Sirius who Harry was very close with and other friends like Remus, Bathilda Bagshot etc. This can be swapped with Remus and Tonks who fought in the war, Harry as the fun godfather and friends life Ron, Hermione And Ginny. I feel like keeping both Remus and Tonks would have made great impacts on the wizarding world as well. We would see werewolves obtain more rights (which I believe is because of Remus himself) which could eventually lead to Remus being Reinstated as the DADA professor which I’m sure is something we all want. I feel like Harry should still have a strong connection to his parents and I think the only person who could do so is Remus as he didn’t see them from a teacher’s point of view or someone who just worked with them in the order, but as a friend. So that’s my rant and views of Remus and Tonks. Thanks
Also. I found it irresponsible that the Rowling would write that Tonks character would leave her newborn child to go fight knowing that it was a possibility that both she and Lupin could die leaving Teddy without any parents. It didn’t make sense. Married couples in the military dread being both deployed at the same time when they have kids for the same reason.
I totally agree with this, couldn’t have said it better myself. There were many heartbreaking deaths in the books but their’s I just couldn’t cope with (along with Fred’s as well). I related to many different characters, and Remus was one of them. He was so relatable and it made it so much harder to let go of him and Tonks. They were the happiness in the darkest of times.
It hurts me so much. What she put Lupin through. Screw harry for the moment, he did get some happiness. But Remus has been going through hell sense age 4, to the point where he's scared to so much as concider letting himself be happy. And when he finally loosens up. Finally relaxes. FINALLY accepts himself. she kills him, and not just him, but the only source of happyness he has left (sorry harry, but you didn't spend enough time with herem as you could have) Rowling, is flat out refusing to let him be happy and it hurts my soul
Personally, I wish they'd lived so Harry wasn't trying to help rebuild the Wizarding world while being godfather to an infant. You know he would shoulder that responsibility on his own, not pass Teddy off to his grandparents or anything. That would have been an interesting sequel. Harry Potter, seventeen years old, didn't finish school, raising a baby by himself.
They should have fucking lived!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Their deaths hit me the hardest out of any death in the entire series. Lupin and Tonks are among my favorite characters.
I agree. I’m not mad just cause he’s one of my favourite characters but there was absolutely no reason for him to die. I can understand her reason but it’s just forced. All my other favourite characters I can understand dying like Sirius and snape because it was important to the story but I kinda Did like how the marauders (expect peter) came back all together at the end.
Four deaths in the series hit me the hardest, to the point where I had to stop reading and not ashamed to admit, cry. Sirius Black, Hedwig, Fred Weasley, and Remus Lupin's. each were devastating to me, but Sirius and Remus hit me the hardest. I love the marauder's storyline and Sirius and Remus quickly became my favorite characters in the books. Especially since Azkaban is my favorite of the seven books. I finished both the fifth and seventh books before my friends did and I did so long after 2 in the morning so I knew I couldn't reach out to them to cry and warn them. One of my best friends was especially fond of Lupin with me and the tears started up again when she finally finished that chapter and called me. It took me until only recently to watch all the movies, I couldn't bear seeing any of the deaths as my imagination was bad enough. So yes I 100% agree that Remus and Tonks should not have died. Full circle or not, it was just cruel. Btw just stumbled on your videos and I am beyond hooked! I recently got back into the series as I'm reading them with my cousin's daughter who is my unofficial goddaughter. She's loving the books and I'm getting the same feeling I had when I first read them through her experience. So I'm loving your videos! Awesome work and thank you!!
I agree wholeheartedly, I know history is doomed to repeat it self. If that’s true then why can’t J. K. Rowling leave them alone and just say somewhere in the book, somewhere in this world someone is growing up without a parent just like Harry Potter did, this happens in real life and in fiction. Remus Lupin did not need to suffer all his life just to die that’s really sad, actually it’s heartbreaking.
I love this video the idea is amazing and true, but I would love to see U do a video even if it’s two separate videos on how Lupin and Tonks life’s would have unfolded if they hadn’t died
Yes! SOMEBODY FINALLY SAID IT! TONKS AND LUPIN SHOULD NOT DESERVE IT! I cry every time when Lupin has been on mission for months and he's worn out and tired, still rushed to the battle to support the students and teachers. I just wanna cry i really can't :"((((
You're right. In my opinion at least one of them should have survived. It could have been cool to have Remus as the last Maruder and to see him as a father. Or it would have also been nice to let Tonks live and see Harry become the sort of father figure that Remus once was to him.
I don’t agree with your reasoning. I feel it comes from more connections with the characters unable to let go rather than the point of the book. There death is a sad truth of parents going to war and children becoming orphans. The fact they did die so soon with so much potential show not only the sorrowful loss of potential they had but also the reality of death you die during the middle of life ( which sounds odd) but the point is we don’t get to choose how long we’re on this earth. Teddy was left orphan after the second wording war, just like Harry in the first. Showing the devastation of war and the irony to the story itself. It’s the true open at the close.
Dang, J.K. Rowling really has it out for Ron. Not only does she regret having Hermionie marry him instead of Harry but she also wanted to kill him at one point.
Merry Christmas!!! And happy 4 years on RUclips been following you for about a year and LOVE your videos and your attitude!!! You and movie flame are the only HP youtubers I'm subscribed to and wouldn't have it any other way thank you for taking the time out of your day for these amazing videos !!! Again merry Christmas and can't wait what your channel will bring in 2020!!! Cheers 🍻
Hi dearest Dean. Thank you for another amazing masterpiece. It was a very sad subject. I felt that Tonks and Lupin should have survived. I was so heartbroken and sadden when they died. I loved them together. Thank you for sharing another amazing masterpiece. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. Thank you for another amazing year of amazing videos. Sending lots of 😘💋 and 🤗🥰. Wishing you all the best in 2020.
nymphadora was my favourite character and remus my favourite marauder 😣 i wished they couldve lived and i like the idea of remus killing greyback. it wouldve been a huge comeback for remus considering thats who turned him when he we 5
Dean you know what your channel is amazing I love Harry Potter and you just make such high-quality videos you are my favourite RUclipsr and really really show your passion in your videos. Btw I watch all ur vids bc they’re amazing 😉
Can you make a video on who is most likely to be retconned as Trans so that J. K. can prove to Twitter that she's not a bigot, and to atone for her sins of having an opinion? Genuinely curious who she'll pick.
Does there need to be a trans person in Harry Potter? I mean I wouldn't mind if there was one, but it doesn't bother me that much that there isn't one.
Couldn't agree with you more. I loved the characters individually and as a couple. In some way their deaths hit me a lot harder than Fred's. They could have made such a cute family with their little son.
J.K. Rowling has explained in a few interviews the reason why Lupin and Tonk’s death had to be reflected in the series. She said that “ In the 1st Wizarding War Harry lost his parents James and Lily Potter. So; it only made sense to have to show that tragedy and fact of war again. But; she mentions in the epilogue of the Deathly Hallows that Harry is made their son’s godfather and they both turn out alright in the end.
I don't personally care for characters who fight in multiple battles and seem to survive everytime. I guess I prefer that he passed, because it was a relatively happy ending for him. He found someone that loved him regardless, he had a kid, he can rest now. Additionally "that's war" casualties are inevitable. I guess in short what I mean is somebody has to die during war, why not Remus Lupin? Edit: if a central theme in the series is Harry losing something important to him. This also makes sense, he's lost pretty much every connection to his parents, he's lost almost everyone he loves most. Note: I want to be clear they were two of my favorite characters, my personal feelings aside. I just don't know how to put it, their death is fine to me.
I totally agree, the books have been a tragedy since chapter 1 "the boy who livedc gives hope because EVERYONE was dying in war, and the child we get to know is an orphan being abused by his only relatives in this world. It has to end how it started... Sad but with hope EDITB Lupin is my fav character, I'm not happy with his death either. And English is my second language, don't judge my mistakes
They were the best canon pairing, but sooo underrated *!* 💖 Tonks felt in love with him, although Lupin was way *older* than her, *poor* ,an *outcast* and a *werwolf* (her biggest fear). She still wanted to stay on his side.. Tonks was easily one of the best characters!
i can’t remember if this was said in the books or not bc i haven’t read them in a while, but there is a deleted scene from the movies where tonks is running towards lupin and lupin says “you shouldn’t have” then tonks says “he will sleep until dawn, it is you that needs me tonight”, and a lot of the time, i wonder how different the story would be if tonks had stayed with teddy that night
Please don't avada kedavra me, but i think arthur should have died in order of the phoenix. He could have stay in st mungos for the scene with the longbottoms and die of the injuries or get killed by a death eater.
Nope, that book was dark enough as is, no idea why you’re thinking it needs more dark. Not a logical idea at all, particularly with one father figure dying at the climax already. I’d completely axe it if I were your editor and you would thank me later.
Rowling could have done it faster and easier with Hermione by making the obliviates of her parents permanent. I personally think JKR should have killed Harry off to allow him to be reborn again into a happier life without his child and teen years hanging over him the rest of his life. You can bet he has PTSD and possibly worse from all he went through over the years.
Merry Christmas to you all!
Harry Potter Folklore And a merry Christmas to you and keep up the great work 👍🏼
Merry Christmas, and a Happy 2020! Hope to see you in the New Year!🎅🎁🎄
Merry Christmas... just remember. He knows when you are sleeping.
He knows when you’re awake.
Happy Christmas and other holidays! ☺
Merry christmas to you dean
Have a very harry christmas🎅⚡🌲
''Harry Potter is a sad story with a successful ending.'' Perfectly said.
@reese
True but after all these deaths can you imagine how much it affected Harry’s life later on cuz No one was ever able to convince him that everyone that has died was not because of him .
Wait no never mind, it’s a “successful ending”
Sorryyyy I read it as “happy ending”😂x
Yea but the author killed like toooo many ppl like tooo many well i think moreee of the death eaters should have been defeated by most insignificant characters in the movie to show their part equally tho
@@wadiaahsan3180 though there’s more drama that way
The reason I always thought that Lupin would have died is because JK Rowling wanted the 4 marauders to die for harry. James and Sirius died to protect him. Peter died because he showed Harry mercy, and Lupin died fighting for Harry.
That's what I always thought as well... makes the most sense to me.
You forgot that snape died trying to protect the boy from inside Voldemort army
@@siltonrubber guessing you havent read the books then. Peter stopped strangling harry when harry reminded him he spared him from lupin and sirius
@@Animemama88 talking about 4 marauders
So everyone died for harry in the end is the same but your just changed the words
I wish that Tonks had stayed with Teddy, then at least he would have one parent.

Trina Q Didn’t Rowling write Lupin which means that Rowling is punishing herself for even considering that. 😂
U said it perfectly
That idea is kind of stupid of Rowling when you think of it; everyone has thoughts a lot darker than that, why punish them with death? Seems a bit odd...
VulKus catharsis x)
J.K has said all the Mauraders were meant to die of Harry but I feel that Tonks should have lived.

100% agree
Ali Som So true. Life is not fair, illness/war/accidental death is random and it doesn't spare you just because you are a good person.
I agree, life can really suck sometimes, but there is light in all darkness. Everyone matters equally.
Caroline Lisa Interesting thought, I personal think writers don’t kill off enough characters. This was a war!
I dont understand it in this case either, but it is a war story after all and war doesnt pick
Fridhild The supercarlinbrothers made a video on this topic and explained it much better than I could
Trisha Reddy yes I’ve heard of this video !

Plus he deserves an happy ending , I mean , all his life he suffered ... like give the man a break XD
Imagine if she actually did kill Ron Weasley?
I'm really glad she didnt. Ron is one of my favorite characters. Harry and Ron have a serious bromance. Harry would be devastated beyond belief. Ron also helps carry the story along and gives Harry a reason to keep going. If she did kill Ron I feel like people would stop reading. I know I would. There would a very big hole to fill.
there would have been riots.

I picture Andromeda Tonks and Augusta Longbottom sitting down for tea and having a very long series of discussions, while little Teddy plays across the room. These two amazing women would have so much to talk about and I think Andromeda would benefit from Augusta's experience and wisdom from raising Neville.
What a very cool point!! Never thought of it before
I wonder which is better in the long run for Teddy Lupin, for his grandmother, Andromeda Tonks to raise him alone, Like Neville's grandmother raised him, OR to let Harry's family raise him like they offered to do?
Also, why did they put pillows under their heads in the Great Hall? They were dead, Comfort would be a low priority for them
Having both parents alive to raise him is better for him.

Honestly I still cry to this day over their deaths! Remus Lupin is literally my favourite character and I’m still bitter over it! 😭💔
JK Rowling is an example on why writers should use their emotions as a tool and not as a guide while crafting stories.
I hope to become a writer one day and if I do I won't use my emotions to drive my stories but as a tool to craft them
@@lightknight429 good luck ✌, hope you make an awesome and successful series
Totally agree J.K could of killed off our precious Hermione and Ginny
She was an amazing person and I cry at her death every time 😞
:me doby dies
:my dad cries for 2h strait
:me here we go again
Lupin and Tonks shouldn't have died 😭😭❤️❤️
Dean I am in total agreement with you, Merry Christmas
Legit cried throughout the whole film😭 I just can’t bare the fact all the amazing characters died in such harsh ways...
Cursed child doesn't count that's what I say for my mental health lol
Only justice I see in Remus and Tonk's deaths are:
They died knowing there son will grow up in a world without fear, without fearing death, with Teddy waking up next morning without death and fear knocking on their son's door he live a life without fearing someone he loves suffering the same fates as his parents and those who fought along with them.

I Completely Agree With You Dean & I've Felt The Exact Same Way For Years, Nice To Know I'm Not The Only One ! 🎄Happy Holidays ! 🎄

Scott Jewett the baby stayed with tonks parents most of the time
Bobby Singh R only andromeda. Teddy and his grandma lost remus, Tonks and Tonks father in a span of a couple of months.

I agree they should not of died. Lupin is one of my favorite characters and I think he deserved a happy ending with Tonks and there son.
All my favourite characters died 😭😭😭😭

@Ruturaj Shiralkar I ship Severus and Cissa too.
@Ruturaj Shiralkar I am indifferent to that ship but Neville and Luna was a good ship
Ruturaj Shiralkar why draco and hermione hated each other and draco would keep him self with “a filthy mudblood” like hermione
Thanks for hearting Dean
Imagine if she killed off Harry. Like his final stand against Voldemort. Both dies. Or mainly if one of the main 3 died. Just a thought.
Better than lupin & Sirius dying
Remus death is probably my saddest death in my history of watching movies
I miss Sirius
Likewise, Sirius is my favourite Marauder, next to Lupin!🐺
First time I cried reading Harry Potter. I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive J.K Rowling for this 😭
Can you make a video on who is most likely to be retconned as Trans so that J. K. can prove to Twitter that she's not a bigot, and to atone for her sins of having an opinion?
Genuinely curious who she'll pick.
🤣❤️
What a username mate
After what you did to William Wallace I'm not sure if I can make such a video..
Does there need to be a trans person in Harry Potter?
I mean I wouldn't mind if there was one, but it doesn't bother me that much that there isn't one.
Aragog was a trans
Couldn't agree with you more. I loved the characters individually and as a couple. In some way their deaths hit me a lot harder than Fred's. They could have made such a cute family with their little son.
I just felt like they should’ve shown there death and it should’ve been heroic.
1 like= 1 prayer for Andromeda
Sad but with hope
EDITB Lupin is my fav character, I'm not happy with his death either. And English is my second language, don't judge my mistakes
I was crying when I read the book at the part when they died because Lupin was my most favorite character and Remadora was my 3rd favorite couple
They were the best canon pairing, but sooo underrated *!* 💖
Tonks felt in love with him, although Lupin was way *older* than her, *poor* ,an *outcast* and a *werwolf* (her biggest fear).
She still wanted to stay on his side..
Tonks was easily one of the best characters!
“Neither can live whilst the other survives” another full circle
I didn’t feel an emotional attachment to Dobby. At all.
Does that make me a bad person?
I didnt either
God! I cried, especially that last note:
“To Dobby, A Free Elf.”
i can’t remember if this was said in the books or not bc i haven’t read them in a while, but there is a deleted scene from the movies where tonks is running towards lupin and lupin says “you shouldn’t have” then tonks says “he will sleep until dawn, it is you that needs me tonight”, and a lot of the time, i wonder how different the story would be if tonks had stayed with teddy that night
I actually kind of agree, I love Arthur, I really do, but I sometimes wonder how it would’ve turned out if he died
I agree with their death because it really shows that war is ugly, war is hell, it's not a fairytale, its orphans, widows and tragedy.
I think that Rowlings idea is stupid!
Going full circle like... no
everyone just dies you’re like can it get worse and then lupin and tonks dies and your just there like 👁👄👁 it just got way worse

How many times was that clip played in this video?!?!
