Great video and answered my question precisely. I too have a fitness channel and trying to make content for YT as well as IG and TikTok. Thanks again for explaining this so clearly!
Thank you! Just a quick question because I just discovered your channel, if i'm using phone, should I record in 4K whenever possible and export to 1080p, or shooting in 1080p just fine? I don't plan doing any zooming in. Thanks!
Hi Camber, What frame rate do you recommend for Instagram or RUclips? This is my 1st time and extremely nervous about what frame rate and aspect ratio. I typically shoot 60 fps. I just want to my sure that my audio matches the talking part. Thanks!
@@CamberFilmSchool Sounds Good! Also, Do I edit everything in 24fps or change to 30fps because of Instagram conversion? Also, output 24 or 30fps? THANKS!
Wow so confused now, so I make one 4K video in youtube format (16:9) then export it, then import that video a bunch of times depending on what I want to do? Right? I did this and still have big black bars op and bottom on Instagram videos :((
Not sure where i went wrong. I am using a Samsung Galaxy and recorded video with Grid in Landscape instead of vertical. Exported from my Videovloc Blogger to 4k ....then new project using the 1080 x 1920 and it doesn't fit the full screen? Where did i go wrong? Or for phones do i need to record a Landscape and Portrait Mode video?
Fitting the full screen depends on the type of screen you’re viewing. 1080x1920 is 16:9. If you’re viewing on a phone then that is not going to be as wide as the phone’s display.
On which platform you are setting the aspect ratio frame please let us know coz in our editing app its onion the digits of that ratios not that zoom in zoom out effect🥲
You can’t. If you about in a vertical aspect ratio then that same video can’t be viewed in a horizontal format without all the black space on the sides.
I would suggest framing it so that you get as much detail as possible without zooming. The more you zoom in, the more quality you’re going to lose. I’d suggest setting up multiple cameras to get one framed ideally for horizontal and one vertical in that case if you want to post to both.
@@CamberFilmSchool okay thank you. How do you store so much content? My laptop is full and my phone can't even record anymore due to so much content on top of apps which i can't delete lol 🫠 i have a hard drive. I'm thinking of getting iphone 15 pro or android s24 ultra for content would this work? I also have a D3500 Nikon camera I havent used in years
How u gonna say set the camera to 1080...5 sec later say OK we r gonna be shooting in 4k? That's pretty confusing! Maybe u clda said set your camera to 4k but anything above 1080 is good.
📲 Vertical Aspect Ratio Dimensions:
-FHD: 1080 x 1920
🖥 Square Aspect Ratio Dimensions:
-FHD: 1080 x 1080
I have been searching for this content, finally found the answer from you. Thank you so much, this helped me a lot.
Glad to help! 👍

Very useful video, exactly what i was looking for! Thank you 😊
Awesome. 👍 Glad to help!
Very informative video. Would this apply for drones too?
For sure.
Getting better and better.
Thx!
This video is extremely helpful! Thank you!

I use a Canon SL2 and iPhone 13 and edit on imovies on Mac. Love this tip! I have never even thought of this before. Such great advice! Thank you!!!!
Glad to help! 😉
Thanks so much! This was great! Do you think this works with makeup videos?
It will work with any kind of video. 👍 It’s just about how you frame it.

1080p is plenty and takes up way less space.
Thank you! - just starting with content making I just use my phones camera this is awesome advice :)
New sub!
Glad to help!
Thanks so much for this. Well definitely try this out. I shoot on my Sony zv1 or my iPhone 13 and edit on my M1 iPad Final Cut Pro. Thanks again
Glad to help! 👍 Let me know how it works for you.
Great video, but how do I add captions to the video? Do you use Final cut pro?
Yes, I use FCPX. You just have to add a title over the footage and pick a style that you like.
Thanks for the video. Does cropping the video for reels ruin the quality though? I make food videos and just wondering if everything will look crisp
If you frame it to where you’re just cutting off the sides then no. If you’re zooming way in then it will reduce quality.
This was extremely informative! Thank you so much
Glad to help! 😉

@mikeslawin9681 I output my videos in 24 fps. You can record in either though and won’t have any issues uploading to IG.
Most useful video for recording and editing! Great info! Keep the grinding!

Is aspect ratio a free video editor and without watermark?
Aspect ratio isn’t a video editing program. Is a ratio of how large your frame is that makes up the shape.
This is helpful! Will try it out 👏🏽
Awesome! 👍
very nice video and very good info's. thank you
No problem! 👍
I create and edit on my phone will I still be able to achieve the same results if I am editing in an app like Capcut?
I’m not sure. I’ve never used it and don’t know the capabilities of the program.
Really helpful video thanks from India
You’re welcome!
Thank you. This was very helpful.

Well Made thank you!
Thx! 👍
Thanks man!
You’re welcome.
So do most of you chop up the longer videos for shorter content on TikTok and Instagram or FB? What is the recommend 30 seconds or 60 seconds?
Depends on the platform and your audience.
Very helpful 👌🏽
😉
How about shooting in 4:3 aspect ratio ?
Most cameras can’t actually shoot in 4:3. That’s something you have to edit in post.
On which platform you are setting the aspect ratio frame please let us know coz in our editing app its onion the digits of that ratios not that zoom in zoom out effect🥲
I edit with FCPX
Thanks so much 🥰

Good job, great video
Thanks!

Very useful...thanks
You’re welcome!
What aspect ratio do you start with for the 4k recording?
Pretty much all video on most cameras is recorded in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Thanks, awesome video
👍
I shot a video in 9:16 on my phone, how do I edit that video so if somebody turns their phone for 16:9 view, it will still fill the whole screen?
You can’t. If you about in a vertical aspect ratio then that same video can’t be viewed in a horizontal format without all the black space on the sides.
when I turn on 4K my camera is crop sensor
What kind of camera is it?
Thank you❤!!
👍
thank you
You’re welcome!
Helpful thanks
😉
I have a question when i try to upload 9:16 on tik tok cuts some bits of it on the side. Do you have any idea why?
I’m not sure why, but I’ve noticed the same thing on IG Reels. I would just film or edit with a little extra space on the sides to compensate for it.
Does my android phone can filming like this too? 😢
It’s just a matter of framing and then you edit the various aspect ratios later.
What if my videos are art related and i want to zoom it in for youtube to see the detail, dont want to show the whole backround?
I would suggest framing it so that you get as much detail as possible without zooming. The more you zoom in, the more quality you’re going to lose. I’d suggest setting up multiple cameras to get one framed ideally for horizontal and one vertical in that case if you want to post to both.

@prettyful I delete stuff after I finish and post it. And I put a lot of my finished files onto Dropbox as a backup.
How would I edit it to fit on other platforms from Capcut?
I don’t know what Capcut is.
In Capcut deselect anything in timeline and there is an option called Ratio.
Thx! 👍
I use CapCut too.. anyone have any opinions on Final Cut Pro vs CapCut?
I’ve never used CapCut, but FCPX is used by professionals.

I’m taking about setting your timeline that you’re editing with in 1080. You shoot in 4K so that you can zoom without any loss of quality.
thank yoou!

i use canon r6
That’s a good one! 📸
how to set that on iphone ? please tell like to someone that has no clue what they are doing
How to set what?
@@CamberFilmSchool iphone, but I gues I got it , was thinking is more complex but turn out not so scary

I upload video in portrait mode and the thumbnail I upload was not seen in my subscribers😢
When you have a vertical video youtube typically shows its own thumbnail from a portion of your video regardless if you upload a thumbnail
thx =)

Canon r10
That’s one of the first good APS-C cameras Canon has made! 📸
im recording with Sony zv1

This content looks like it was made specifically for people that shoot with a camera. What if I shoot with an iphone?🤕🤕
Same concept still applies. Move your phone back some so that you have a larger frame to work with in editing.
@@CamberFilmSchool Okay, do you have a video for those that edit with capcut on phone?
@thatgirlcindy no
What’s the name of the app you edited the video with
Final Cut Pro X
Your terminology is completely foreign to me (too advanced) - oh well
Sorry. It’s pretty standard video terms.
