FM radio is still used by almost everyone in the UK as that's how the BBC stations are broadcast which of course have no adverts.

Thor's hammer got bent. Still need FM for long-range commutes. It would have been nice to be able to see what you guys were talking about on the display, the temp sensor that looks like a card slot, etc etc. Someone should tell Lars that lots of displays have IR touch.

The camera work on this video is terrible. How can you talk about the infotainment system with the product manager of Volvo and not focus on the infotainment system?? Totally ridiculous
+Ashesh Sahib exactly what I was thinking, and to compound the issue they have two or more cameras on site.
Thor is a norse god, worshipped in (but not limited to) scandinavia. Thor was blamed whenever you saw lightning or heard thunder. His horse had 8 legs and ran faster than anything else. Thor has given name to the weekday "thursday" in many languages, including english, german and swedish.
When an item on the car is being discussed the camera should pan over the item. It's kind of weird when you're talking about the infotainment system and the camera is showing the tailgate and the road as you're driving. Otherwise it's a pretty polished review. Thanks!

I wish that they were taking about the tablet like touch screen they would have showed it. I'm actually looking at a 2016 and this sure did not convince me. This review was vague at best.

God help me if I ever have to look forward to buying any sort of SUV. Let alone a Volvo. The thing is basically you riding along with a "safety committee". People buying these types of vehicles are the sort of people that shouldn't be on the road to begin with.
This being said, it's nice seeing Emme again. Hope she gets to review more rewarding vehicles than "soccer mom" mobiles.
Chris Juarez I would buy this car. Not because its safe. But because it looks really good and the interior would be very nice compared to what I have seen in the competition.
***** It is the most modern remake of an SUV currently available. They just took Tesla's idea and made the screen a little smaller. I guess to transition people a little easier? If that's the case, then you'll probably want to hold off any comparison until the new Tesla Model X hits the scene. Because I'm pretty sure if you like this thing, you'll love the Model X.

D Gmaz Yes, well aware of that. They are the first to make the touch screen the only thing you're able to touch when it comes to the cars functions. The same way Volvo is stating "this is a first for the industry" type of deal. Let me stress I will never be in the market for an SUV. I'm saying if I were, I would be looking at the Model X very closely.
Chris Juarez I do agree that Model X should not be underestimated and potential buyer should not hurry, but XC90 is fantastic product and even if you buy it now, its not that you will loose something. It has style, comfort and security Tesla can and should thrive too.

I don't like how much new cars do for people. Semi autonomous? Fuck that. I'll stick with my cars that let ME drive.
But it do let you drive and knows who's the boss lkke they said in the video... But when you don't pay attention it will kick in for you to prevent the worst. And also like 90% of all the safety features is optional, turn it off then. But with every turned off function the risks gets higher. No one are as good driver they like to think.
It's nothing to do with "being as good as I think I am" it's about paying attention to the 4,000 pound hunk of steel I'm piloting. I don't need my car to keep itself in its lane so I can sit there texting and stuffing my gullet with mcdonalds. I've never had a car that drives itself, even if it is optional, and unless it's mandated I will not. If you want your self autonomous car by all means, get one. But I'll keep enjoying the art of driving instead of using a car or truck as a train.

Dee Jay and volvo's have historically never held up resale value like bmw and merc so this and the complicity of the turbo/s.charger will have its toll on resale value.

While creating extra power and increasing efficiency, these parts are prone to failures and costly to repair. other than this, the fact that volvo doesnt have same resale value like bmw is because of the lack enthusiast demand and brand value of bmw, merc.

The Swedes be sharing! Koenigsegg uses that same exact display technology in the Regera (and I think their more recently built Ageras too)! So obviously it was developed in Sweden and shared! Good on them! I hate having to take gloves off to touch screen.
As for the review, camera angles were mostly static and awful. Also the reviewer was incompetent and snarky. I will pass on further reviews featuring her. Snarky Snarkerton
