@@DoglegMediaMattMark Martin's 01 Army car that was a photo finish with Kevin Harvick has to be a honorbale mention
#09 Brad. Keselowski. Won this race.
Larry Mac’s greatest call 😂
Will you do the 0’s?
Brad. Kes-el-ow-ski. Won this race.
@@Notkylebuschtechnically it’s the 100-109 but they use 01,02,03 ect.
Carl Edwards goes weeee into the catch fence
Glad I was able to help :) Also, 93% of the hall voted for Jimmie.
The GOAT!
For the #0, shout out Delma Cowart. He is a legend. Never won a race but never lost a party.
Great mention! Thanks a ton!
average brennan wilmington w
i got quite a few:
0- Ward Burton
01- Jerry Nadeau, ran 10 races till his catastrophic injury at Richmond
02- Ryan Newman had 8 starts in the number in 2000 and 2001
03, 04, 05- odd fact on these numbers, it never had a full-time driver (someone going an entire season)
06- Cale Yarborough had 20 starts in the number in the mid 60s
07- Obviously Clint Bowyer, but before him Dave Blaney had the 07 Jack Daniels car back in 2005
08- how about a "dishonorable mention" to finish the Cup series numbers. in 2005 for 2 races Shane Hmiel ran the #08 Win Fuel car. his last race was Bristol one month before he got banned indefinitely from NASCAR
09- who could forget Brad Keselowski winning Talladega 09 with the 09. another mention is Bobby Labonte running part-time in 2010 with the 09 C&J Energy Service car
00- David Reutimann with the Aaron's and Domino's Pizza liveries. also Michael McDowell had the #00 in 2008
Edit: and when the 0-09 and 00 numbers video comes out i'll be looking into the Xfinity series numbers. and i wouldnt doubt with how successful this series is going. i wouldnt be surprised that few months down the road you'll extend the numbers history by adding in the Truck Series
Very nice! Thanks for all the great mentions!
Seeing lightning McQueen remind me of Kyle Larson’s 2017 cars 3 scheme that he drove and won at Michigan
David Gilliland 92 car

Travis Kvapil 93 car

Matty D 95 car 15:04
2019
Kasey Khane 15:52
2018
Christopher Bell 16:22

Daniel Suarez 96 car
2020 18:01
Josh wise 98 car 24:44
2014
Carl Edwards 99 car
2013 , 2014
In the early years of stock cars there was numbers that are unheard of in nascar... Numbers over 100
Brad Keselowski's first win, in the 09 car. He was such a long shot to win that he wasn't even LISTED on the odds to win.
I personally love the Gen 5 cars. They were such a step up from Gen 4, which had many legends but many deaths. The wing and spoiler both looked good, and the paint designs were absolutely amazing!
Honorable mentions for the 0's
Tomy Drissi drove the 00 car in 2018 at Sonoma with a throwback scheme to his Trans-Am Championship winning car which i think looked really cool
Jerry Nadeau's US Army 01 car which sadly had his career ending crash in
Sam Hornish Jr drove an 06 car for a few races in 2007 which is very off brand for a Penske car
Awesome stuff!
01- Ward Burton, and Mike Bliss
01- Mark Martin, Reagan Smith Joe Nemecheck, and Jerry Nadeau
02- Hermie Sadler
07- Randy Lajoie
09- Brad Keslowski
If eligible 00-Derick Cope, Landon Castle, Jeffery Earnhardt, Quinn Houff, Joey Gase
Great mention! Thanks a ton!
13:25 rip 😔
That Mac tonight was one of my top 3 favorite all-time schemes.
I agree!
When you’ve done 0 and 00-09, how about a video on the triple digit number winners? Dan Gurney won in #121 in 1968 at Riverside.
And 1964/1965
Honorable mention for the #96 that was missed was Dale Earnhardt in 1976.
Yeah this was definitely my bad 😣
You forgot Jeffrey Earnhardt also
I hate hate HATE rehashing this nightmare… Mark Martin in the 01 at the 2007 Daytona 500.
Oh and Bowyer in the 07 finishing on his roof. That Jack Daniels paint scheme is iconic
Honorable mention mark martin finishing a close second place to kevin harvick in the 2007 Daytona 500 in the army 01 car and that paint scheme was pretty nice
Wasn’t that with the ill-fated Ginn Racing

@@toad_is_ur_momobscure mentions
90: Bobby Hillin, Mike Wallace, Rick Mast.
91: Kevin Lepage, Mike Wallace, and Todd Bodine
The picture of Freddie Farmer was actually Red Farmer.
Honorable mention to Mike Wallace driving the 09 for Phoenix Racing. He had some great moments for them; including leading at Richmond in 2004 and a top 5 in the 2007 Daytona 500.
Awesome! Thanks a ton!
I didn't realize how successful the 90s were outside of the 92...
Right!
HM:
00: Jason Leffler
01: Regan Smith
02: Ryan Newman
04: PJ Jones’ Menards/Jim Beam car
06: Sam Hornish Jr
07: Clint Bowyer’s Jack Daniel’s car (greatest driver sponsor combo since Mark Martin and Viagra)
09: Kenny Wallace’s American Ethanol car
All solid mentions! Thanks a ton!
Bowyers Honorable mention won't be mentioned, since he won twice in the 07, but the rest of those are pretty solid.
That Matt Dibenedetto 2nd place was heart wrenching. It’s what made him my favorite driver. Hope he gets back to the cup series soon
So tough to watch!
Hamlin should've thrown the race. And I say this as a Hamlin fan.
And he’s also came close in the 21, I hope he makes some more starts in a half way decent cup car.
@@acedelta12I can second this
One driver I genuinely forgot about would be the 07 of Ryan blaney and the 01 of David stremie
Both great picks for the upcoming episode!
Shoot I made a mistake David stremme didn’t drive the 01 Jimmy vasser did
For the 01, I gotta mention Jason Leffler. His 2001 Cingular scheme was awesome!
Great mention! Thanks a ton!

#00 Michael McDowell and that crazy qual wreck at Texas in 2008, made everyone get on board with the safety of the COT
Hey thanks for getting my Mentions Dice and Dogleg, I got a few for our next group.
01 Mark Martin
02 AJ Foyt
03 David Pearson
06 Harry Gant
07 Dave Blaney
08 Terry Labonte
09 Bobby Labonte

I actually gave the shoutout to Matt DiBenedetto, who drove the 93 before he switched to the 95.
00 with david reutimann had a lot of paints schemes that i love. His tums, all of his aaron’s, dominos, his alabama crimson tide scheme were my favorite of his.
All great mentions!
Cannot believe I forgot to mention Dale Earnhardt in the 96...
Also for the 00’s mention buckshot jones for the 00 and quin hou- actually he’s not notible

Guy spitting facts here wow
This has been a great series
I appreciate that! Thanks so much!
@DoglegMediaMatt u forgot about my 25 car
Well hopefully these get mentioned..
0- Mike Bliss
01- Mark Martin *Sadge 404 Daytona 500 win not found*
02- Hermie Sadler
05- Peter Knab
06- Sam Hornish Jr.
Those are all my mentions! Not as much as my mentions for the 90s.
You’ll definitely have some here!
Obscure mention for the 06: Todd Kluver. Ran the number for Roush in '06
Awesome!
#96- DJ Kennington, the most recent Canadian to start the Daytona 500
Elliott Sadler also piloted the 92 in 1998 as a part time driver
I'm sure the video for 0-09 is done already, but the most impressive 09 for me is not brad k, but it's Geoffrey bodine almost winning the Daytona 500 when ward Burton won. Love the series.
Love the mention! It has already been recorded, but hey, we have number history for xfinity in a couple weeks! Be sure to get me some suggestions for 0-4!
6:52 806% win rate?! Damn! The 92 must be the best car number ever 😂😂😂!
No kidding 😂🙈
When matt Kenseth ran the 42 they should have ran that dover scheme as the throwback
I have an odd shout for the number 300 driven by Tim Flock and owned by Carl Kiekhaefer, who ran what could be considered the first fully professional NASCAR team between 1955 and 1956.
I think what I will do is have the viewers submit triple digit and weird numbers and we’ll do a special just surrounding those numbers since the data isn’t easily sourced! Thanks for the mention!
Hit send before I could get the other numbers:
07 Randy LaJoie drove a Snellman Construction Chevy a few times in 1984-85. Had a vicious crash in the qualifying race in 1984.
I think that David Ragan made a few starts in a Roush 06 car and Tony Stewart called him after Martinsville "a dart without feathers".
0: Delma Cowart
00: Landon Cassil
01: Regan Smith
02: Hermie Sadler
03: Richard Brickhouse
04: Bobby Hamilton
05: Donnie Allison
06: Soapy Castles
07: Clint Bowyer
08: Carl Long
09: Mike Wallace

00 Michael McDowell. He had an absolutely nuts qualifying wreak in this number
Yup! At Texas!
Please dont forget this one
Aric Almirola drove the 09 car 18 times
0, 00-09 are going to be super interesting to watch for me! Watching Rawgator's video on winless numbers like a few years ago, most of them seem winless. I wonder if they are gonna have very surprising stats though. Also, I'd love to see the 00 come back again.
I’m super excited for it! Thanks a ton!
Should bring the 00 for Custer
That 96 DLP is a beauty.
It really is! 🔥🔥🔥
Mike Bliss drove the #0 for what is now Stewart-Haas Racing, starting in the 2004 Southern 500 (which was the second to last race of the season) and going through the 2005 season. His best finish was 7th at the ‘05 Bristol Night Race. I know this from the clip where Brian Vickers dumped him to win the All-Star Open.
Quoted from the Wikipedia page: “In the Nextel Open qualifying race, Mike Bliss and Brian Vickers were promised a large bonus paycheck if they won the event and qualified in the All-Star Race. Bliss who started up front led the most laps and led to the white flag. In the final turn of the final lap, Vickers went underneath Bliss and wrecked him. Vickers beat a wrecking Bliss for the win, big paycheck, and the final and only left the spot in the All-Star Race. Bliss was visibly upset and said that Vickers should have been disqualified. Drivers, fans, and owners ridiculed Vickers for his move and sided with Bliss but the results were declared official.”
Awesome! I love mentions like these!
20:11 one of the Busch brothers went racing at a small racetrack up in Michigan
Honorable mentions: 00 Landon Cassill awesome silver bullet throwback back in 2019
That was a great throwback! Thanks for the mention!

IDK if anyone said it yet, but a honorable mention for the 01 could be the late Jason Leffler in the Cingular Dodge.
Love it!
I think Suarez will end up like a Jamie McMurray or Kasey Kahne type driver. Solid and underrated, but never quite lighting the world on fire.
15:05 Even as a Denny Hamlin fan, i was wildly upset and disappointed when Dibenedetto lost out
A lot of Denny fans I have talked to echo that same sentiment
I was happy but felt sorry for him. But they talked in victory lane on the post race show
No. 08, Joe Nemechek's lone Cup start in a Dodge driving for John Carter's E&M Racing at Michigan in 2007. Joe climbed into the 08 Dodge at Indy after Bobby Ginn screwed him over, but missed, but did qualify later at Michigan, but thanks to Michael Waltrip being a dumb dumb, he would wreck and finish last.
Another great episode. Some honorable mentions for the 00-09 series:
01 Ted Musgrave in 2000 after Kenny Irwin was killed at NH, the 42 was renumbered to 01.
01 Mark Martin and the Army car that he nearly won Daytona in.
02 Mark Martin ran a part time schedule in 1986 with car owner Jerry Gunderman, in the fall Atlanta race he qualified P2 in a Miller sponsored car.
Thanks a ton! Great mentions!
I am still kinda scratching my head, wondering how people were shocked by SVG winning? Bologna Burger and our community called it as soon as it was confirmed he was going to be in the 91. We just did a little bit of research! Those cars are very similar to the Next Gen! His stats are PHENOMENAL! Pretty obvious! I think he will excel on short tracks as well!
I hope so!
2 weeks ago, the #99 won again, beating Blaney by 0.003 seconds at Atlanta

#06 Todd Kluever, he was supposed to be the replacement for Mark Martin in the 6 in ‘07 but ran so poorly he was let go for David Ragan

I’m sure it’s been mentioned somewhere, but the 02 that Penske ran for Ryan Newman in 2000/2001 was our introduction to the Alltell scheme; one of my favorite cars from the 2000s

Also if you do any oddball numbers, I feel like I remember seeing a car with an 'X' on the door, winning a race at Langhorne. I'm not sure if it was NASCAR sanctioned or not. But the race it won was famous for the biggest wreck on a dirt track (the turn 4 case of 'arca brakes' before arca). Haha

I think the reason there was never a lightning mcqueen inspired scheme (besides the 1 driven in 2017 by a few drivers) has something to do with rights issues with Disney
So we most likely won't see Mr Ka-chow again until the next Cars movie (which is supposed ly coming out in 2025)
That’s true, Disney locks their stuff down!
I saw a picture of the number 96 on Google with a Lightning McQueen scheme at Charlotte in 2006
22:28 Leeroy Yarborough is actually spelled Yarbrough according to racing reference
Ope, thanks for the correction!
I have this 1/24 scale diecast of Clint Bowyer’s 2007 or ‘08 #07 car, my dad got when he worked for DirecTV. While there is Jack Daniel’s on it, there’s also NASCAR Hot Pass DIRECTV, the primary sponsor. It’s the only Pre 2011 CoT and one of 2 I have in general. Despite its flaws, I really like the pre ‘11 CoTs, they could’ve made the wing flat after 2010 but they did that to stop the cars from flying so it’s ok
That’s awesome!
@@DoglegMediaMatt I also wanna mention Hermie Sadler’s (Elliott’s brother) #02 and the paint scheme is his 2003 1-800-3-Autism car with Green and Yellow
93 is the number I chose for my custom Cup paint schemes I’ve made on my Toyota Camry.

I’m also so sad when I remember that the 95 has had no success in NASCAR. That’s my number, and that pains me. All I can do is hope and pray that a team will see how perfect that number is and run it. LFR is what got me really into NASCAR TBH. I saw that car leading the 2019 Daytona 500 and that’s when I picked my favorite driver and decided to follow the entire seasons instead of watching it every once in awhile. Just seeing a car that has the #95 on it makes me happy and I can watch it for hours. At least it’s easy for me to race it in any game/event because nobody else wants it, they all want the Hendrick numbers because of their success in NASCAR.
That’s awesome! Love the backstory! The 95 doesn’t get the love it deserves that’s for sure!
@@DoglegMediaMatt that’s just the tip of the iceberg of the backstory. You should have seen me watching the Bristol night race 😭😭😭
