- So i interacted with around 100 ppl over the past 6 weeks asking "Are you cruel?"
Some were really fruitful discussions and others were not :-P
I could record around 10 conversations from it. Here is a compilation from the same.
#indianvegan #vegandebate #streetquestions
The "extremely" spiritual person. He KNOWS how it works. Legit bruh 🤣
Haha… they said i am not spiritual so I don’t understand all this 😂
Hahahah, seriously, if this is what spirituality does, I don't want to be spiritual 🥲
@@samikshashrivastava1518YK, it's not spiritual
@@samikshashrivastava1518no, you can't be spiritual and non vegan at the same time.
He is scared being - you can see, people try to hide their own fears, desires behind lame excuses and cowardice .
If you cannot feel pain of an animal then you have no right to call yourself a human being - human being are with max consciousness given by creation to be guardians not be consumers, destructors..
Kitna mushkil hai aapka kaam
Thank you brother
😇😇😇 ab kaam hai toh hai😇
Way to go guys! So so glad to see the spread of awareness. And hats off to you that you didn’t burst out laughing when the guy when having no other arguments, went straight to the typical ‘plants feel pain’ one. 😬 I mean, if each of us vegans were paid ₹1 for each time we hear that, we could be lakhpatis so soon.
Ya! True that. But i keep reminding myself that while we know it to be super flawed argument and hear it always but the person making it is doing it for the first time and sometimes ask this genuinely. So i remind myself it is our duty to address it with sincerity. #patience😅😇
@@voiceofvegans I think that’s a great approach. I know a lot of well meaning people who take it very seriously.
And after all, there is all that stuff about trees communicating and such. I don’t necessarily think it’s so crazy to believe that plants “feel“ something.
But even if they do, it’s hard to believe, for many reasons, that they feel in any way comparable to animals and, of course, in any event, being vegan is way less “cruel” to plants than being a meat eater.
I burst out laughing when I heard the guy saying "I'm very spiritual... in India we take exceptionally good care of our cattle."
This was excellent. Your approach was kind but firm and you didn't let them get away with the typical excuses. I'm working on this but it's hard :-) I learned a lot from this video as to the misconceptions and justifications for eating animals in India which really helps me when advocating to Indians. You addressed each one flawlessly. Really great activism✊
Thanks for the kind words… feel free to rope me in if you need any help with activism with Indians✊
@@voiceofvegans Will do, thank you🙏
@@voiceofvegans Great work friend, ✅❤️😊8 years vegan !!!!
“✅❤️😬💪🦍Never brush their teeth, and they are clean, and they are plant based. Never eat animals. And they’re huge !! 99% the same as us. But we eat meat, et cetera, and have plaque and tooth decay 🧟♂️🦠🍖🍳.... go to the dentist twice a year !!! No fibre if you eat animals and their secretions. We’ve got flat teeth. Little flat teeth. Moving left and right -_ 😬. We are herbivores. We choose to be meat eaters, and get cancer and heart attack and high blood pressure and diabetes... 51% death rate if you eat animals and their secretions !!! Scientific fact. pH is different. I don’t stink anymore because I’m plant based. Don’t need to go to the dentist because I haven’t got plaque. 6 years vegan, smooth arteries and my shoes and socks and armpits are absolutely clean and fresh. Fibre is plants and fruit and nuts and berries and tubers. Try it for a month you’ll see. And I’ve gotten bigger and stronger and fitter on a plant based diet. Vegans have 4% cancer, and that’s it. Science rules.”

Being non-vegan is the cruellest thing you can be as a human.
Actually no, most non vegan people aren't aware about killing animals. Since they are taught from young age that its normal to eat whatever is from supermarket.
Not understanding pain of plants which is been authenticaly proven right by sciencetific proof
And calling yourself a cruelty -free person is most hypocratic thing you can be as human
Same questions.. Different people.. Extremely different views and opinions !!!
This whole video has such an interesting and engaging flow 💯

Great work man. I am telling people about your channel.
Thank u sir 🤗
Thanks for the kind gesture. It is the least we can do from our side.
Impressed by your interviewing skills. You don't argue or tell people they are wrong, instead you listen well and make a counterpoint or expand and explain your points. This is crucial to not get people emotional and angry. Keep it up! I've subbed.
Thanks! I have been studying advanced communication tactics for activism for the past 2 years. Things are falling in place now. Thanks for your support :)
@@voiceofvegans Can you please share what those tactics are? Any particular course you are doing?

Salute to you patience broo
I really can't handle this type of discussion and ending at a debate or by bursting at someone
Ya!!! Sometimes it gets difficult… but it is something we got to do🙌

Glad to discover this channel from India other than Arvind animal activist. Subscribed!
Thanks!!! Glad you found it… Lots of stuff lined up for 2024🙏
I am pleased to see Asian countries becoming aware of cruelty to animals as well!
Keep on doing what you are doing! 🙏🙏
I hereby subscribe to your channel🤝
Thanks! Vegan movement in India is growing stronger day by day💪
"as well"?.. India was one of the few countries where animals were treated kindly well before the dawn of the modern age in the West. I encourage you to research the concept of Ahimsa that came out of India (ingrained in religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc). Pls come out of this mindset that it is the West that is teaching India how to be kind to animals. India has the largest vegetarian population, but still a long way to go. Hopefully, more people will turn Vegan when they become aware of the cruelty in the animal agriculture industry.
@@atishbong ? Azie is a continent! Look it up! Most parts i never wanna visit because of the way they treat animals.
@@nicolevogelaere8820 I think you are missing the point. this video is from India which is part of Asia. Your original comment, although made in good spirit, has the undertone that Asian countries are becoming aware of cruelty “as well”. My point is that India, an Asian country, has a history of kindness towards animals. So you should correct your assumption and come out of the mindset that West is leading animal rights. It is not a competition, but your thought process amused me.
@@atishbong if this is so why would there be activists on the streets making these videos. Azie is the most cruel towards animals, common knowledge! ......(And no, I don't take anything back and I won't be intimidated like that, Western women are not submissive and are allowed to express their own opinions.)
i can really hear the influence from ed in your discussion and the way you approach the conversation, great job! 💚 apart from the two guys they all seemed very willing to go vegan, hopefully they commit to it ✊🏻

Beautiful to see many people in this video coming round to veganism, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words and your support😊
When faced with "I draw the line at human" , don't be afraid to have them unpack that thought.
"What specifically about a human makes you draw that line?" Have them unpack it.
More techniques as well:
If you ran into an old friend tomorrow, and you've always respected them.. if they pulled up a DNA test and they had an odd biological marker where it says "NOT human" but they're still other EXACT same individual that you remember the last time you saw them. Same happiness, family, joy, humour, playfulness, illness that you remember. The only difference is that in this hypothetical situation, their biomarker now says NOT human . Do you NOW believe your friend should be exploited and oppressed simply because they are technically not classified as human? If not. WHY not? It's not simply the classification of being a human that makes you believe it's not justified to exploit them, it's clearly something else and that's what Im asking.
And then you know where to go from that point in the conversation.
Thanks for the detailed comment😇I am aware of the NTT method. Whenever i get the right opportunity, I deploy that🙌
@@voiceofvegans great job! And to be honest, I didn't even think about NTT when I typed that out. I guess it's kind of like NTT
That's an interesting hypothetical. I'm going to keep that one in mind next time I'm doing outreach
@@dragonfan8647 thanks. It's can be complicated so practicing a way to get thru it is useful haha
@@iam_nkr yeah , hence why you're asking them to define what draw-the-line means to them, and why. The phrase is subjective but the logic behind the choice to draw the line is much easier to talk about.
WHY does someone draw the line at human? Because humans feel pain and don't consent . Ok so then it's ok to set non-human animals on fire? No? Why not?
No rational person is going to agree that causing another individual harm just for sensory pleasure is a 'good' thing.
Lovely conversations Shivam. Some people resisted more strongly than others, but I would like to believe that the most resistant ones would become equally intense animal rights activists.
Thanks and that’s very optimistic. It is true only if get to this side🙌
Thank you for raising awareness
The least we can do. Thanks for your support😇🙏
Also, about that argument of killing insects while ploughing land, here’s a counter argument.
More than three-quarters of agricultural produce is used for livestock production, despite meat and dairy making up a much smaller share of the world's protein and calorie supply.
So basically, even the insects killed by ploughing is to feed the livestock. So, if you just stopped eating meat, 75% of insects that would have died by ploughing, will end up being alive!!
Amazing work Shivam... You were so cool in your arguments despite som of them being angry...Really hope some of them who were positive become vegan
Thanks for the kind words 😇 fingers 🤞🏻
I am from a bengali family, but my family members don't love my concept of veganism.

Excellent video bro. You nailed it right. It was a very nice approach in converging them from cruelty to food. I understand it's difficult for people to come out of their past condition and addictive eating habits. But keep doing the good work.

Thanks for your support… i think the same 💚💚💚
Hats off to you sir . I am a vegan after listening aacharya prashant. I am speechless about your passion. You are giving a very big purpose to your life and this is what makes the life complete. ❤❤❤
It is nice to see that all around the world people do have this inner desire to not hurt animals. It is a start and a foundation we can build on. This, exactly this, is why activism is important. We also have to educate people to eat properly. Even on omnivore diet people assume their eating habits are fine. That is only because nobody is judging them and keeps telling them "You will die" like they do to vegans. Sadly, we all know someone who has low vitamin levels, who is malnourished, who is anemic, has diabetes, heart issue etc. and they are on omnivore diet. So, educating people what to eat is also important. We vegans will often be asked "but what do you eat?". It is sad when people ask that because it tells us they have no idea about the food and what they eat. If they knew, they would know there is an abundance of veggies that are so versatile and...cheap!
Thx for being the voice for the voiceless. Subbed.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment… yes it is imp for ppl to be vegan and they stay healthy (or at least conscious why they are unhealthy). Misconception around diet is big.
Great video, creating more vegans Thankyou. 👏👏👏
Hopefully❤❤❤
That guy is spiritual and defending animal cruelty... Lol.. Joke of the decade.. Truth is once you are spiritual, you will always think from the perspective of victim.
When he mentioned Spirituality, I laughed.
Is he even sentient? What a deceptive, lying, ignorant, cruel creature.

Keep your spirituality within yourself. Dont let that come out dude.
hehe🙈
I don't know if you do this already, but after such conversations, if you could give them sources or some plans to start the journey, it would help them and also prevent you from pushing a potentially unhealthy diet onto them. I know many who went vegan and struggled with their health due to a lack of knowledge on Nutrition. For those who go vegan due to experiences and self-reflection rather than from street interviews, there will be motivation to learn about plant-based nutrition but this may not necessarily be the case for all.
Keep up the great work Shivam. Would love to join the vegan club in Bangalore!
Yes I do!!! Resource card with all relevant information. If someone seems enthusiastic we also add them to transitioning groups. Thanks for your support 😇
Do you think you could add those resources in the description maybe? It would definitely help people like me, looking to go vegan without compromising on nutrition. don't see a lot of resources catered to Indians - Cronometer for example, has very limited Indian foods that you can track.
It's harder for me to transition considering I have a 6 month old to feed and there's not enough evidence based information that could find.@@voiceofvegans

Awesome street activism. Crazy how the majority of Indian cuisine or any cuisine is practically vegan, except for 5 ingredients Cow, Chicken, Pigs, Dairy, and Eggs. You'd think you're asking people to stop breathing with the way they react to being asked to leave these 5 ingredients out of their diet. Truly sad, especially for that guy in the purple shirt claiming his knowledge from spiritual awareness, when he's actually spiritually ignorant.
Ya! in India it is a complex case that traditional diet is very close to pb diet but ppl don't know about the concept of veganism ( i made a video where i asked ppl if they know what is veganism - super strange reactions) We need to educate them. 'How to vegan' is easy here.

Admire people's honesty here!
Morality is always subjective to an oppressors perspective.
Wonderful outreach! It's funny how, regardless of the country & culture, everybody seems to believe theirs has the best animal welfare & the 'real problem' lies elsewhere.
Also, that guy's call came at the perfect time to save him!
haha...yes perfect timing....it is common in India especially with dairy. That ppl thing no problem here.

For a few seconds, keep veganism aside; I am just bowing down on you, man, to manage calmness in front of these nonvegans.
"I am fine with this form of murder". You must be fine when this " form of murder" happens with you and your family right?
Fantastically put
13:56 the point where the cruel smile comes out 😓
It amazes me how some people try to rationalize animal cruelty. I'm sure if they were in the animals position having to go through this cruelty themselves they would change their opinion.
We humans are selfish and which is why. We have bizarre kinds of logic..
“Yes, I will” (go vegan). What a wonderful ending!! Good interviews!
ya!!! that's what give me motivation. To see ppl change or at least the seed planted.

Befitting answer to black tshirt is... plant killing is cruel too, but compare the violence of killing plant to make 1kg of meat to eating 1kg of direct plant produce. Simple, show them the researched statistics of how much percentage of agricultural produce is used to produce meat annually.
Simply to put
Meat eating = 63% of more violence to plants than regual vegan diet.
Thank you Shivam, tag this video as Vegan Street Activism and you'll double your outreach in the youtube search.

that "very spiritual person" has obviously never heard of Acharya Shri Vidyasagarji Maharaj, who has been vegan for decades
haha.. "the spiritual person" didn't care to listen :-P
loved your work! proud to be a vegan!
but one argument that i would like to point out that was addressed in this video, was about the insects getting killed for crop production, you said that it is unintentional and killing animals to consume them is intentional, well i disagree because we do kill insects intentionally BUT the main difference between both scenarios are that we kill insects to PROTECT our crops, we have right to defend our food if we won't defend our food then how are we suppose to survive if insects will destroy our crops? this scenario is very different from killing and causing suffering to animals their whole life just to consume them, this is absolute unnecessary and unjustified whereas killing insects to protect our crops is justifiable. secondly, the experience and conscience of hens, roosters, fish, buffalo, etc are WAY deeper and more complex than tiny insects, still you shouldn't purposely kill insects because that is unnecessary, I personally refrain from killing even small insects because in my situation it's absolutely unnecessary but killing them to protect our food is somewhat necessary and so would be justified. You can get organic food which means it also minimizes the suffering of insects but take in mind that you have to trust the organic food brand you buy from because most of them still use pesticides, insecticides etc.
