Heineken is a euro pale lager, made by Heineken International since 1873. It is available in a 4.3% alcohol by volume, in countries such as Ireland. It is the flagship product of the company and is made of purified water, malted barley, hops, and yeast. In 1886 H. Elion finished the development of the Heineken A-yeast. This is the yeast that is still used for the beer.
Heineken Lager Beer (Dutch: Heineken Pilsener), or simply Heineken (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɛinəkən]) is a pale lager beer with 5% alcohol by volume produced by the Dutch brewing company Heineken International. Heineken beer is sold in a green bottle with a red star.
On 15 February 1864, Gerard Adriaan Heineken (1841-1893) convinced his wealthy mother to buy De Hooiberg (The Haystack) brewery in Amsterdam, a popular working-class brand founded in 1592. In 1873 after hiring a Dr. Elion (student of Louis Pasteur) to develop Heineken a yeast for Bavarian bottom fermentation, the HBM (Heineken's Bierbrouwerij Maatschappij) was established, and the first Heineken brand beer was brewed. In 1875 Heineken won the Medaille D'Or at the International Maritime Exposition in Paris, then began to be shipped there regularly, after which Heineken sales topped 64,000 hectolitres (1.7 million U.S. gallons), making them the biggest beer exporter to France.

Yeungling lager is the grandaddy of all beers
Being the oldest American brewery I can kind of see where you’re coming from on that one. Cheers
Been through a 30 pack every two or three days of Miller products until I finally grabbed a heiny. Now I’m grabbing two twelves 🍺
Nice lil change of pace. Cheers 🍻
Just read your description. In Ireland, or more specifically Cork, Ireland, the Heineken is brewed for the Irish Market at 4.3%. My local beer shop sells both Dutch Brewed Heineken and, of course, the Irish Brewed Heineken.
Very similar in taste, but Irish Brewed Heineken is creamier and smoother, which lacks that that crispness and that refreshing bite the Dutch brew has. I think it's brewed a little creamier because it's where Beamish and Murphys Stouts are brewed, too, and us Irish really didn't have lager on tap until the late 60s/early 70s.
The %Abv is brewed at 4.3% to be similar to the tradional stout abv.
I'm from Cork, Ireland myself and live an 8 min walk from the brewery (Lady's Well Brewery).
Compare Irish Brewed Harp lager to a Dutch Heineken, you'll definitely notice the Harp lager has a creamier feel to it and would be easier to neck one. I think every country has its taste in lager.
That’s cool to know. You can find a lot online but I find that you learn more from the people that are actually out there drinking it. Thank you for sharing and hopefully one day when I make it to Ireland I will have to try that. Again, thank you Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
Ah, Heineken. An old friend for sure. Smooth, clean brew. A classic
Exactly
Best macro beer in the 🌎
@Eduardo Marroquin I think a lot of people would agree with you on that. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
l'll try finding Heineken in a can. Tried it several times in the green bottle and it was skunked. Thanks for the review.
I have heard that. I personally like cans over bottles. Thanks, and hope to see you in the comments again. Cheers 🍻
I like Heineken, and I miss Heineken Dark.
Wow I haven’t thought about the dark in a long time. It sure was good.
Great review guys, Heineken is pretty much the best macro lager out there for me
I think a lot of people will agree with that. Cheers 🍻
It's eh not my top go too
Me either
Love a good heineken
@Daniel Ventura right, it’s one of those old faithful beers. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
5% SOME STATES/ 3.0 IN KANSAS IOWA, NEBRASKA OHIO

4.2 in ireland
@🎶Gabber Head🎶It’s wild how they make different types for different areas
as long as its out of a can. My favorite is there mini kegs that fit perfectly into my fridge. Btw have you guys got into brewing your own beer.
I did a review, of that keg versus another container, and lost it however I think I found it the other day I may edit it up and put it online. I do really like those small kegs. I have been looking into it a lot lately because so many of my friends are home Brewer‘s or Brewer‘s at commercial breweries. I think it will be fun.
Some times I forget about Heiny, decent beer.
Not a bad beer at a pretty decent price. Cheers 🍻
If you’re after a grandfather of European beers I’d recommend Pilsner Urquell, it was the first ever pilsner and was using bottom fermenting yeast before Heineken. In the UK I’d say we see Heineken as a good beer, nothing exciting but it’s all I drink in Amsterdam.
I had my suspicions about it being Pilsner Urquell. I am found of it and I need to add it to the list of beers to do in the near future. Cheers 🍻
@@Beeradventurer if you can get it try Staropramen, that’s my go to commercial pils 👌. Love to see if you guys agree
I have had it , but it was years ago. I have not reviewed it but I think I can get it in one of the larger cities near me, I’ll definitely look to get that and do that one very soon. Thanks for the ideas. Cheers
@@Beeradventurer No worries, drop us a message if you do plan to review it.
I will for sure.
