Spent a bit of time catching up with the geese and one of their other admirers let me know that Sam's mom has been nesting on an egg in the same spot she had Sam.
It's so sweet to see Gus running down to his lady honking all the way!! It's great to see so many animals act in this manner. I read a pinterest caption that said "many people say cats count" have never seen a mama cat going crazy when a kitten is missing.
After work years ago I'd walk to a pond in a beautiful park here in the city (Melbourne, Australia) and feed the ducks. It's so lovely when they get used to you and come out to greet you.
@@SullivansGoose His pose is so commanding and wholly natural--just like that thumbnail of the exultant Sam with his wings spread. Both pictures fascinate me with their perfection. It's amazing to think that such perfect images happened by chance with wild animals who aren't inclined to pose.
Geese are the best, nobody should eat them anymore! They're extremely intelligent, extremely social, friendly, lovable, curious, funny, hilarious, goofy, wonderful and beautiful - and they smell sooo good! We have Egyptian Geese, Greylag Geese and Canada Geese at our pond, also swans and ducks and I esp love the geese to bits. They count to my best friends!
You mentioned a wound on her head, has that been resolved? If not perhaps reporting it to an organization that could help her heal might be a good idea. They might have to capture her entire family in order to diminish the trauma but at least she might have an opportunity to be cared for and recover. Just a thought….
Yes they are taken care of by a rescue organization in the winter, and in emergencies. I report everything I notice about the geese to them or the city, who actually own them.
Gus is how a gander should be-just enough authority to assert his presence but not too aggressive. He seems comfortable with you.

You have never seen a cat momma than with an overly exploring kitten.
@@DrDumb-te4mi I saw four babies drive our mama cat crazy when I was little. It was very funny.
Wow I came here after the 'Gus running toward you as a gosling' and he big now! Hehe
Isn't it Sam

I love seeing the thumbnail with Gus's steadfast, forthright expression. Your friends have such noble strength and presence.
I have been tempted to paint it instead of the channel logo pose.
