Meet Loki the overly affectionate raven who likes to cuddle.

- Опубликовано: 30 сен 2024
- A UK filmmaker has become best friends with a raven and says the bird often comes inside for a cuddle.
The seven-year-old called Loki has grown up in captivity and now has a bond so strong with its owner that it regularly seeks him out for an embrace.
Elliot Manarin, based in Basildon, was offered Loki by a breeder after its owner passed away and initially discovered a spiky personality.
But years of hard work, love and attention has seen the pair become best friends with the animal even comforting the 33-year-old when his mum died.

The entire family comprises the family Corvid there latin name. Birds in this family consist of; Ravens, Crows, Rooks, Jackdaws, Jays, Magpies, & Nutcrackers. Ravens particularly the Common Raven are the largest of the family. On average 24-27in with a 4ft wingspan weighing in at around 2.5lbs. American Crows would be next the bird most easily confused with Ravens. However, there smaller size at 18-20in and 3ft wingspans weighing in at about 1pd clearly shows the differences between the two cousin birds. Ravens also possess a much heavier larger curved beak, longer wedge-shaped tail, shaggier throat feathers, and more fingered wingtips. They also make a myriad of different croaks, gronks, clucks, and other guttural calls opposed to Crows. Crows in there own right make different caws, rattling sounds, etc...but no where near the amount a Raven is capable of. However, BOTH birds are EXTREMELY intelligent rivaling parrots in terms of how smart they are. They can learn speech as a parrot can and speak as clearly if not more clear then a parrot. They are also masters at figuring out puzzles and love being challenged. They share deep family bonds with there chicks which is why they relish affection from a human companion such as the Raven in this video. And they get a REALLY bad rap as being "harbingers of doom" and seen as "evil creatures". When in truth the only thing that made them get that terrible moniker is there black coloring. I love all birds but i must admit that Corvids hold a special place in my heart as my favorite birds i've worked with. They never cease to amaze me with there sheer intelligence and commitment to getting there way no matter what. Hopefully, i've helped others appreciate these beautiful birds much more as they are real treasures in the bird world. Considering all the persecution they've faced over the years.

THIS IS TO ACCURATE
Lmao
Are we just not gonna talk about how this raven wiggles it’s tail- H O W
( 2:04 )
I think that’s just the wind?
My chickens do that sometimes, but more side to side. It's usually not a sign of happiness like a dog but I still think it's cute. They're super affectionate and cuddly too if you train them right.
I think it's not his tail, it's his feathers
@@jokerpoker4531it can be both. Its his tailfeathers
Plot twist: Loki the raven is actually Loki, god of mischief. He's just hiding from his brother, Thor.
*nephew thor
Blaah it's me! And stabs the dude.
His brother is actually Odin,if I'm not mistaken
@@indigo3174 Odin is his father...

Tooooo cute, and funny.
Very tender and sweet raven, so intelligent.....
Ravens are living dinosaurs and I’ve heard are as intelligent as a 7-year-old child

Actually the 7 year old child one is the crow.
Actually childs are crows
The gwah he makes when the guy clicks his tongue. So cute, and funny.
I didn't know that ravens can wiggle their tails like dogs when they are happy?
i read somewhere that this is a sign of horny
@@antekknapek4635 lmao
Ducks do this too. I have ducks.
Loki is a female. They do that when they are sexually excited. I guess it counts as "happy".
Familha Gaudir she’s a female? Gwahhh even more cuter
Beautiful bird. 🙂
1:25: "That's right, I'm your worst nightmare. A raven with some wire cutters."
Untitled goose game new DLC looks actually great

2:04 HIS TAIL IS WAGING
GOODBOI
Being an owner of birds this concerned me as some do this as a sign of *horny* but I trust this man to know more than I do about ravens
@@mcbeeple8496 it was wagging because it was windy. You can hear it through the mic
@@WraithLK Thank you for the clarification
Gwah
@@WraithLK If a raven's tail did that in the slightest of breezes, I'm surprised how they manage to fly!
Teasing aside, that's just common avian body language for "I want to mate". It happens namely during the later months of their known mating season. He's uh, not necessarily being a good boy.
Imagine being lost in the forest by yourself and you start hearing in the distance “G W A H”
i would probably shit myself
My one hope in life is that before the world ends due to human shenanigans we can at least see ravens evolve into a human level intelligent creature
